The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 125 Book 2 Chapter 57
“I’m saying that if the Alpha King’s research is correct…then one of Gregory’s sons isn’t really his.”
Celeste’s mouth fell open, her eyes widening. “That couldn’t be possible. Why would the Alpha start a war instead of just confirming it?”
“I don’t know, he’s probably doing things in the flashy way…you know…”
“I don’t…but do you think it’s true and what do you think we should do?”
“Bring Gregory’s head to him on the day of the war and tie up Zillon and Xavier at the very centre of the pack lands, he can choose which child is his there…”
“Celia I don’t think that’s a very good ide—”
“You’ve never thought of anything I come up with as a good idea, but it is a good idea, like that time when I told you to trip Anderson in class and you didn’t, so I had to do it. He never picked on us ever again.”
“But this isn’t Anderson, it’s the alpha king.”
“I know…we’re all going to die, aren’t we?”
“We’re not, Zillon just left me here, and now he’s gone to the training grounds with all the other wolves…you’re a beta, you’re strong, he wants you to accompany me to the other side of this dungeon, the side where all the ruthless wolves are. He has two of my friends locked up down there, no not two, three and I’m suppose to let them go…”
“Your friends?”
“They’re rogues, the ones I met while I was gone.”
“Oh, but how will I go with you? I’m a prisoner, Celeste and a traito—”
“I’ve thought about it, you must’ve had a reason for doing what you did…I know you enough to know that…so I don’t think you deserve to be locked up, everything is fine now anyway…Zillon and I are okay again.” Celeste brought the keys from behind her, shoving it into the padlock on the cell door. “I think you’ve learned your lesson now.”
“Wait…I-I…did you read the letter properly? I told you that I’m not sorry because I don’t deserve forgiveness…why would you just let me out? I’ve done you wrong, you’re a Luna, let me rot down here for betraying you.”
“You didn’t betray me…I don’t consider it as being betrayed…” Celeste twisted the key, the lock coming undone. “And I’ve been missing my best friend for a while now.”
She pulled the latch up, pushing the gateway open.
“You won’t regret this?”
Celeste shook her head.
“Even if I try to steal Zillon again?”
“He won’t budge, not if all he’s been telling me is true…”
“Then…Then what if I try to take Xavier back?”
“I…I won’t mind…I have Zillon now and he’s yours, isn’t he? Was he the one you were talking about in the letter.”
“Yeah, he has claimed he’s my mate and though he hasn’t even marked me yet, I can unmistakably feel the bond, but I don’t care anymore…he used me to get to you and despite knowing that, I went along with his plan…I won’t ever let him do it again.”
“B-But Xavier’s a good guy, he’s nice…he’d treat you like a queen.”
‘Just like he did her…’
Guilt flooded Celeste’s heart at that, her hands clenching by her sides. “He’d love you endlessly.”
“But he doesn’t love me, does he? And I won’t force him to.” She stepped out of her prison cell, stretching her arms over her head as she rotated her h**s. “I should’ve taken a long shower right after stepping out of here, but I’ll go with you first.”
“You must be hungry too.”
“I am, mom and dad use to bring me food, but they stopped a while back and all the stupid guards have been feeding us is sardines and rice…f*cking goofballs, everytime I see them coming with the tray I want to stuff it in their faces, but I couldn’t let anything go to waste.”
“If I had known, I’d have sent you food.”
Celia turned to her. “You had no reason to…for years, all I’ve done is degrade you. I stomped on your pride, lowered your self-esteem, I did what I was never suppose to. You should be cursing me out, you shouldn’t have set me free. I was a b*tch when I didn’t have to be. I could’ve made it through highschool without friends and without bullying you, I could’ve done without pretending to be who I wasn’t to gain Zillon’s trust…I could have avoided doing so many bad things and yet I did them.” She sighed, a look of regret spreading across her face. “Everything that happened to you is my fault and through it all, you still remained a little Saint, you never cursed me back, you just took all the bad I had to offer and walked away. Your highschool days must’ve been hell because of me, and I’m sorry I ruined everything for you. I wish you’d hate me, it would’ve made me feel better than you forgiving me without a second thought.”
“Celia, I can’t hate you and you know it…we’re sister’s, we’re b***d, even if you stab me in the back again, I’ll forgive you because no matter what you become I’ll always remember you as that fierce little girl who’s only aspiration in life was to protect me from parents who treated me like crap and people who did the same. You’re the reason why I’ve made it this far, if it weren’t for you protecting me, I wouldn’t have thought my life was worth living. Thank you.”
“You’re thanking me?” Celia’s hazel eyes blurred with tears as she looked down at her sister. “The moon goddess made you without a flaw, why are you so good? You’ve always been an angel with a devil as a twin sister, you’ve always been the opposite of me. I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you until the end, I’m sorry you had to hurt so much because of me, I’m sorry… I’m just sorry for ev—”
Celeste fell against her sister’s shoulder, her arms embracing her waist. “I know…”
And just those whispered words had tears falling down Celia’s cheeks. Her heart felt lighter now, all the weight have been lifted, she was free from all the pretending and now she’s regained what she always wanted back…
Her sister and her best friend.
