The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 137 Book 2 Chapter 69
It took four months after the war for the devastation that the pack felt to lessen. Many had died, leaving children, wives, parents, but their efforts were never forgotten..
They were all buried at the south side of the borders where their loved ones could go visit them… The pack had lessened drastically, it was no longer second to the Alpha kings’s pack, but then again, Zillon did not care.
He didn’t have time to envy Xavier’s pack when he was busy rebuilding his and taking care of Celeste.
That night when he had…you know… ‘woken from the dead, he got to replace out that Xavier wasn’t at all his brother, they had the same b***d, they were family, but they just weren’t brothers…
His father has done something so despicable that it had become a sensitive topic for him. He had been there to confess, beaten and bloodied, but still alive.
His wolf hadn’t been strong enough to retain its form, he had involuntarily changed back into the skin of his human and when he crept like a dog into a sitting position and began to speak, Zillon got to replace out that he had been lied to all his life…
Gregory was the reason the war started, Celia had been right, he was the Alpha king’s brother and instead of apologizing like any other sensible and sympathetic human or rather werewolf would, he didn’t.
Two month had already pass since then and Zillon hadn’t forgiven him yet, the war could’ve been prevented, all the men that died could’ve still been alive if he had put away his pride and spoken the truth.
What he did was wrong on so many different levels, for power Zillon would’ve never done such a thing and Celine…Celine was just as wrong as him. She should’ve brought back that child the moment Gregory took it home…
Or perhaps if she had, she would’ve been killed, they both probably would’ve faced consequences, but still, they should’ve done what’s right..
Instead they kept the child and raised it with not a single spec of love. Gregory said he thought that…
***FLASHBACK***
“I thought he didn’t have it in him…for starters, I only took him because I was sure he’d be powerful. Celine and I had a son around the same time Xavier was born and s-so I thought that if I took him and he had the power that I never had our pack could outdo yours…bu-but while growing both boys, Zillon showed more d-dominance and if Z-Zillon was more powerful than Xavier…then I basically took him for nothing and so I didn’t see the need to have him anymore…”
Zillon looked at his father, feeling ashamed. “Is that why you treated us with differences? Is that why you made us fight? Is that why you didn’t want him here?”
“Basically yes…”
“T-Then how were you able to take him? Why couldn’t they scent you out or their baby? Father don’t tell me…”
“Mask…it had been around for a long time, but it wasn’t as famous as it is now…only a handful of us wolves knew about it and my brother didn’t. I was older than him and he was more powerful than me. My pride was torn apart and jealousy got the best of me. Celine knew and so she convinced me to leave my brother’s pack because if I didn’t, then I’d destroy it. Zillon was born a year later and Xavier was born only seven months after… My pack was good, but I wanted it to be better…Celine had warned me, but I didn’t heed and when I came home with that baby that night she cried so much…don’t blame her…you can hate me, but don’t hate her, please…” He coughed, b***d slipping off of his tongue.
Celeste ran over to him, worry in each of her rushed steps. “S…Stop talking now…we get it, you’re sorry…let’s go replace the pack doctor, you’ll die if we don’t go now.”
“I…I don’t mind, I deserve it, don’t I, Xavier?”
“Kaheel! That’s his name!”
Gregory looked over at his brother. “Right…Kaheel…that was his name, wasn’t it? I stole him and forced him to abandon his real name, his real self. He was your first son and I didn’t give you the chance to watch him grow.. how much more cruel could I be?”
“Gregory…” Gregory looked over at his crying wife who was kneeled beside him. “Y-Yes Celine?”
“Come…let’s listen to Celeste.. let’s replace the doctor…”
“I’ll d-die anyways honey…I’m sorry…”
“No…” She pulled at his arm, but stopped when Xavier spoke. “I hate you, both of you…this isn’t fair…why did I have to suffer because you were power hungry? Did you know how devastated I was? I ran away and still there was no peace…I could’ve died out there. There were so many ferals out in the wild and I had to fight to survive until I made friends with Gabriel and Davia…they helped me through the loneliness, they helped me survived…but you know what I’ll probably thank you because I got to meet them…” Tears pushed at his eyelids and he wiped them even before they fell. “I hope you feel as horrible as I felt back then when you die…”
With that, he rose to his feet and walked away, ignoring the last pitiful words that left Gregory’s lips. “I’m sorry…”
And then, he had fallen still against his mate’s shoulder, not breathing, heart not beating…
***END OF FLASHBACK***
Celeste had tried to save him, but it seems she couldn’t heal what was already dead. Zillon had cried, Celine had cried, Celeste did too, Zillon wasn’t sure if the alpha king had cried because he had turned his back after that and walked in the direction Xaier went…
Zillon hadn’t seen them after that and Celine had been and still is devasted. Zillon pitied her, but he still hadn’t forgiven her. After the war all the bodies had been taken up and buried and Celia’s was never found…
Zillon didn’t know if she was dead or not, but nobody knew where she went and Celeste…well let’s just say she cried every night for a month and a half. It was hell taking care of her, but he tried his best.
He didn’t dare step foot near his father’s grave, and he didn’t think he’d ever be able to…
