The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 30

“F*ck…” Zillon cursed to himself, running a hand through his head of black hair. Even now he couldn’t come to terms with what he had done. It really wasn’t his intention to hurt her again.

He had promised her peace, promised to pay her back for all the bad things he had done to her and instead of doing that, he had made everything worst. Her eyes had been filled with so much pain and confusion. It was obvious that she didn’t know what to say or do…she was trapped beneath him, unable to free herself, unable to make her own choices.

He really wished he hadn’t went to that room and he wished the urge to touch her hadn’t been strong enough to overwhelm him. That poor girl, if she didn’t hate him before, she sure as hell hated him now.

It was evident in the way she looked at him, the fear, the vulnerability…he had certainly broken her more than she had been before and he regretted it.

He regretted all those hateful words he previously told her.

He regretted those angry gazes, those annoyed glares.

And most of all, he regretted the harassment he had just now bestowed upon her.

She was his mate and yet he treated her as though she was a stranger. She was so good to him even when he was bad to her. She was so pure; an angel facing hell, a flower trapped in a fire…

He truly wished he could’ve treated her better, but in his world, one of both twins had to get hurt and his choice was Celeste; the weakest and yet the strongest.

He had thrown so many knives at her and even when they stabbed her, she endured…but he couldn’t keep hurting her, her endurance was wavering, she had crept pass more than she could manage. As his mom said before, it was really time for him to choose.

Having them both would truly make him a selfish alpha and moreover, both of them would be in pain. Would it be Celia or would it be Celeste?

He had to make a choice, if not now, then when?

Leaning back against the couch, he sighed. Celeste was a sweetheart; shy, caring, submissive and vulnerable. She was strong when it came to the heart, but physically, she was too weak.

Celia was also a sweetheart; clingy, needy and bold. She was strong physically, but mentally, she was weak. She can’t withstand pressure, everytime they had an argument, she’d come around first. She was dependent too, mostly on him and desperate for attention when he neglects to issue it to her…

Which one would be an ideal Luna?

Would it be Celeste or would it be Celi—?

“What? Are you still caught up in your love triangle?”

Zillon turned his head in the direction of the voice, spotting his father with a cup of what he was sure was coffee in hand. “If you’re here to reprimand me, then leave me be, I’m not in the mood for it.”

“Something happened, didn’t it?”

Zillon looked down at his hands, seeming pitiful in his father’s eyes. “I’m in rut…”

“Then isn’t that great you finally get t—”

“It hadn’t been great so far, not when I harrassed Celeste and still tempted to do it again.”

“What?”

“She cried father, she looked so scared. I was so rough, I treated her like a doll…she probably hates me now.”

Gregory sighed, walking further into the living room. “You regret it now, don’t you?”

“I do.”

“Then she’ll forgive you.”

“She won’t, I’ve hurt her so many times in the past.”

“As long as she’s your true mate, then even if it takes ten years, she will forgive you.” He took a seat beside his son, placing the cup of coffee on the marble table in front of them. “But if you don’t choose her, what will be there for her to forgive? I know you don’t want to hear it, but the moon goddess is always right. There must be a reason why she chose Celeste, you two are compatible, it might not seem that way now, but you’ll see in the future.”

“But Celia was here first.”

“It doesn’t matter, break it off now or you’ll regret it in the future. It’ll break your heart just like it almost broke mine.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well for starters, your mom and I aren’t or rather weren’t perfect. I was the alpha’s son back then, so of course I was popular and your mom, well she was weird. Back in highschool, that woman would sit at the back of the glass and glare at everything that moved, except for books. When I found she was my mate, I really didn’t want her until I got to know her…she glared at people for no reason, but she had a heart of gold…the million other girls I had could’ve never replaced her.”

“But da—”

“Think about it, son. In the meantime, I’ll go join your mother upstairs and the coffee, I made it for you.” He raised up out of his seat and silently walked away.

Zillon watched him as he went, seriously thinking about his words. What if he chose Celia and really lived to regret it in the end?

The matebond between them wouldn’t be as strong as the one between him and Celeste, even if he marked her he doubt it’d grow. The matebond was stronger between mates, it could grow and establish more than just a connection.

The stronger the bond between the Alpha and the Luna, the stronger the pack would be. But Celeste was weak, how could a pack be strong with a weak Luna?
