The Alpha's Unwanted Mate -
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 76 Book 2 Chapter 8
Fredd got between the two wolves, panic now clear on his face. “If one of you ever pounce, I’ll make sure t—”
Fredd’s lips smashed shut, his arms flailing as he quickly jumped out of the way and onto the bed when Zillon did just what he had warned him not to; pounce…
He pinched the bridge of his nose, a hand grasping his chest. “Zillon you…!” He sighed, sitting up. “I swear to god if one of you guys really end up in coma or worst die, I’m running away just like Celeste did.”
Both wolves turned to him, growling threateningly and in defense, he held up his hand. “Okay maybe not like Celeste, but rather like Xavier..”
Zillon took a step towards him, chest rumbling…
“Alright, not like Xavier either, I won’t bother to even run away.”
That seem to have satisfied him and he turned back to his prey, the furr on his back raising up as he approached Liam.
In the room too small for two wolves as large as them to coexist, Liam adjusted his stance, seeming ready for a battle he was conscious he’d lose.
Zillon pounced again, but he was swift enough to evade it, his body bouncing the lamp off of the bedside table. He snarled, eyes zooming in on Zillon’s neck. There was a clear opening, but he doubt he’d make it quick enough, the room felt suffocating, the fight had just started and yet it was already holding him back.
Huffing, he looked towards the door. If they had been outside then he would’ve been more free, but now he had to be trying his hardest to not destroy ‘his stupid alpha’s’ room.
He wasn’t sure why Zillon had to be so hot tempered. This didn’t have to turn into a fight, he could’ve said please and though Liam still wouldn’t have handed him the keys, it would’ve probably changed the outcome of this situation.
The last time a pack member had told him that he needed a break from the search, he ended up in the hospital with a deep wound in his neck. Zillon was growing rabid, day by day and Liam really pitied him.
He pitied Celeste too, even more than he did Zillon, but even if he had to force her to come back, he’d do that for Zillon…
They’d been best friends since they were kids, he had met Zillon first before introducing him to his brother…and that was the very start of the troublesome three.
To see Zillon like this wasn’t a sight he had ever imagined to see. He’s drowning in guilt, he barely sleeps, barely eats, sometimes it seems as though he had grown hollow to everything else but the thought of Celeste. He was so obssessed over replaceing her, that he forgets to take care of his own health…
The night of the ceremony was the very first time in 9 years he had seen Zillon cry. He had cried when his brother left and had cried again when Celeste left with him that night.
He had searched the whole vicinity then, he hadn’t slept, he hadn’t eaten. After all, it was the ceremony that would official marked them true mates, their bond would’ve been tied, they would’ve been forever, but his mate chose to leave him stranded.
It was partly his fault, he made a mistake that even Liam could testify that he’d make too. It was unavoidable, he had no choice…of course Celeste didn’t know that and he didn’t blame her for not staying to replace out because Zillon already had a bad reputation…
But if Zillon couldn’t, then he’d fix this, he’d replace her, he’d set things straight and she’d even choose to willingly come back.
Resting his pride on his back, he sat down on the floor baring his neck; not in submission but in defeat. He knew he couldn’t win from the beginning and though he hadn’t even tried, what’s the use in fighting?
All it would do was hurt them and tarnish their friendship.
The big gray wolf a feet away from him tilted it’s head, slowly stalking forward. The l**t for b***d in his eyes, the anger…it was still there and yet still instead of attacking, it rested its head against Liam’s shoulder, whimpering sorrowfully…
Liam stroke him lightly with his paw, relief flooding through him…Zillon was still Zillon and he hoped it’d stay that way until Celeste was in his arms again…
Repositioning himself, he started the transition from wolf back to human. His furr was the first thing to sink back into his skin, his body shrinking back to its size.
Zillon did the same thing, his body too shrinking into nakedness. He distanced himself from Liam, pitifully leaning against the wall. “I want the keys…”
“You’ve gone back to that again?” Liam asked.
Fredd sighed from ontop of the bed. “Give it to him, not the key to her cell, just give him the keys to the dungeon, he can talk to her from outside.”
“No!” Liam refused.
“But he did—”
Zillon cut Fredd off. “Please…”
“Request granted.” Liam smirked, ruffling his hair. “Gimme some clothes and I’ll go get it, but I swear to god if you leave even a scratch on that girl’s hand and put me in trouble, it’s war…”
“I won’t.”
“Alright.”

A/N// So we’ll be meeting Celia in the next chapter…let’s see how it’ll turn out…
Will Zillon really not squeeze her neck?
Because if he doesn’t…then I will…
That b*tch is always being a b*tch…
