The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 98 Book 2 Chapter 30

“I said I’d change my selfish ways last night, but not yet. I also said that I wouldn’t mark you until you’re ready, but I won’t be able to wait anymore. My mark belongs on your neck and I’m going to put it there, I don’t care about your disapproval, it’s going there no matter what you have to say.”

“Zillon… don’t…please.”

“Let’s see you go to Xavier when you’re marked by me…”

Celeste heard it loudly when Zillon’s teeth extracted and fear exhilarated the beat of her heart. She pushed at his shoulders, but that only encouraged him to grabbed at her hands, securing them above her head. “I know you don’t trust me, but I swear to god that I won’t hurt your feeling ever again…stop mentioning him, it breaks my heart to know that I could’ve been replaced…I begged you last night Celeste, I’ve never had to beg before, never had to ask for something twice. I know my actions might not be something you want as yet, but let me apologize beforehand; I’m sorry, beautiful.”

And then before Celeste could even reply, his teeth sunk in. Celeste flung her head back against the matress, her mouth opening up in a silent scream as she trembled against him, cumming in her panties.

As usual, the pain and the pleasure of getting marked was more than enough to get her off and slick pooled down against her walls even as he retracted his teeth.

He licked the mark clean, then looked up at her spent form. “I’m sorry…but you’re mine. I will never let him have you.”

“I…why? Why do this when you know it won’t be a smooth sailing between us. You know how you are…you know how I am…why?” Tears pooled down Celeste’s cheeks as she spoke, her hands that were still locked above her head not being able to wipe them.

“I told you…I’d change, I’ll do better, just for you.”

“The way you said it last night had me thinking that you’ve already started changing…that you were really going to get better, but it was false hope on my end because you’re still the same selfish and controlling bastard you use be.” She turned away from him, breathing deeply. “I hate you.”

“Celest—”

“I hate you!”

Zillon felt it when the spear —otherwise know as her words— stabbed through his heart. “I knew you’d be angry…I saw this coming and yet the pain is much more than I expected.” He buried his head against her neck again, inhaling her beautiful scent that was now mixed with his. “I’m sorry and I really will change…you’ll see, but for now, let’s just stay like this until I feel better.”

“No, I don’t want to be anywhere near you, lock me in the dungeons too…in the cell beside Xavier’s.”

“Celeste stop…you’re taking this too far, you’re making me feel worthless. We made love last night Celeste and instead of me, you woke up with him on your mind. I told you that it was planned, I told you I did nothing. I’m innocent, I’m f*cking innocent and I’m tired of atoning for something I would’ve never done willingly.” He rose his head to look at her, loosening his grip around her hands. “I feel like I should just stop trying, I tried hard enough, I’ve done all I could…but it doesn’t make sense if you have no thought of taking me back.”

He shuffled to the other side of the bed, getting off. “Do whatever it is that you want…I’m leaving the door open and Liam has the keys to the dungeon.”

He walked towards the door and Celeste watched with her teary eyes as he twisted the knob. She bit her bottom lips, her fingers running over the mark. “Zi-Zillon…?”

Zillon turned to her for nothing but a split second before walking out of the room and Celeste’s eyes followed him until he left, feeling as though he had taken her heart with him.

He was angry, but what did he expect from her?

Did he think it was easy?

She loved him, she loved him to a point where she was conscious of the fact that she couldn’t stop… but his mother had told her….

She said if she was suppose to choose between Zillon and herself, then she should choose herself and her happiness.

But what was her happiness?

She had been happy with Xavier, but her mind kept spinning back to the happiness she had with Zillon. She didn’t know what to do…what to choose, she was so damn confused.

Xavier was a saint and Zillon was a sinner…but sometimes she felt as though she liked dwelling in hell than in heaven…for no matter how many times Zillon hurt her, she wanted to go straight back to him.

But should she? He seemed so pained…he kept telling her that he was innocent and she was starting to believe…

Looking towards the door…Celeste wondered who she was suppose to run to…

Zillon or Xavier…?

She had to make a choice…if not now, then when?

With a conflicted sigh, she slipped off the bed, walking towards said door…she could probably choose Xavier, but there was this doubt in her heart…one day his mate would show up and just like her, she’ll feel unwanted because her spot is already taken.

She really didn’t want anybody else to feel that way, she had been through it herself and it was painful, and though she wanted to be selfish, she knew in the end, Xavier would choose his mate instead of her…

Which was why she needed to do the same…

Without her, Zillon would be left lonely all his life and it was the same for her too…both of them were who belonged together, despite the pain, despite the circumstances, she should fix things with him.

His mark was already on her neck, she just needed to replace him now….
