The Apple of My Eye -
Chapter 1668 Go Out
"Hmm, let's have dinner." Charles saw that Sheryl looked at him sincerely, so he nodded. He invited her to have dinner together after that. Melissa had lain on the bed for half a day and felt tired, so she got up and wanted to check on Charles.
She was surprised when she found that he was with Sheryl.
Melissa looked at Sheryl with hatred in her eyes.
Didn't Leila say that Charles was being cold to Sheryl? So, what was going on?
Charles and Sheryl were even feeding each other. Apparently, they loved each other even more now than before he fell into the coma.
Melissa couldn't bear to see that and turned around, returning to her room. When she got back, she called Leila.
"Leila, what's wrong with you? Didn't you say that Charles wasn't being nice to Sheryl?" As soon as Leila answered the phone, Melissa started to yell at her.
At that point in time, Leila was still on her way back to Dream Garden. Seeing that Melissa was calling her, she answered it without thinking.
"Aunt Melissa, what did you say?" Leila asked in doubt.
"I went to Charles' room just now. It seems like Charles and Sheryl love each other more than before," Melissa responded in a rage.
She was so worked up that it became difficult for her to breathe. The cerebral hyperemia she was suffering from made her feel terrible. She didn't know what else she could say. Hearing Melissa's words, Leila felt nervous and finally reacted.
'No way! Charles wouldn't forgive Sheryl so easily. Is there something wrong?' she thought to herself before speaking.
"Aunt Melissa, don't be so anxious. After I return home and tell Nancy to cook, I will discuss things with you. I am driving now, so I have to hang up." Afterward, Leila hung up the phone quickly. She didn't want to continue listening to Melissa because she would talk endlessly.
After hanging up, Leila finally remembered that Holley had called her before. She thought about it for a while and knew that Holley just wanted her to ruin the project as soon as possible and wouldn't say anything else to her. So, she gave up her plan to call Holley back.
Melissa waited anxiously in her room after Leila ended the call.
When Sheryl was having dinner with Charles, she forgot about all her troubles. Ferry suddenly called her, but she hadn't thought that he would call her.
Generally, that damned man liked to launch a surprise attack on her. Sheryl seemed to have gotten used to his sudden arrival, but she was confused. Hadn't they seen each other just now? Why was Ferry calling her again?
"Sher, what's the matter with you? Who is calling you? Why don't you answer the phone?" Seeing that Sheryl had suddenly changed her expression when her cell phone started ringing, Charles was very confused.
"It's nothing, just a call from a salesman. I was thinking about something else and got distracted." Sheryl casually looked back at Charles and rejected the call.
Charles didn't overthink and continued to eat.
After dinner, Sheryl saw that Charles had fallen asleep, so she decided to leave the hospital.
She didn't leave immediately but got into her car, and pulled out her phone to call Ferry back.
"What's up?" Sheryl's voice was cold when he answered.
"Come to the coffee shop near the hospital in fifteen minutes. You will suffer dire consequences if you don't." Ferry was straightforward and hung up the phone as soon as he had finished speaking. Sheryl looked down at her cell phone in despair, and the busy tone seemed harsher than usual.
She didn't want to be under the control of that man, but she knew that the madman would do anything, so she had no choice but to obey him.
Sheryl didn't waste any time. She took a deep breath and drove to the coffee shop.
When she arrived, Ferry was already waiting there.
"Why can't we talk on the phone? Didn't we meet just a little earlier?" Sheryl asked as she sat down opposite Ferry.
Ferry casually pushed the coffee in front of him over to Sheryl and spoke to her with his jaw clenched, saying, "This coffee tastes good; have a try." "Ferry, do you really think I'm in the mood to drink coffee here with you?" Sheryl looked at Ferry doubtfully and wondered what he was trying to pull. Suddenly, Ferry smiled at her. "You really don't want to see me?"
Sheryl didn't reply and just looked at him. She didn't want to say a single word to him if she didn't have to.
Seeing this, Ferry took out some pictures and threw them in front of Sheryl. "Make everything clear to Charles at once. Otherwise, I will post these pictures online and give a copy to him."
When Ferry was speaking, Sheryl looked at the pictures he had thrown on the table. She knew then that this man wouldn't easily let her go.
When Sheryl was at the hospital earlier, she had thought that she was lucky that nobody had followed them or took pictures of her, but unexpectedly, everything had become a play directed by Ferry. He had gotten close to her on purpose, pretending that they were intimate, just to get those photos.
"If you think the pictures are not vivid enough, I have a video. Do you want to see it?" Ferry saw that Sheryl's face had gone pale, so he continued speaking gleefully.
Sheryl looked at Ferry helplessly. It seemed that he wanted to take her life this time around. He would probably never give up until he achieved his goal.
"Okay, I will talk with Charles about the divorce as soon as possible." Sheryl suddenly weakened and lowered her head to look at the pictures. She didn't dare to meet Ferry's eyes.
"I am glad that you have come to your senses. I will wait to hear the good news." Ferry then looked down at Sheryl in satisfaction.
Seeing that Sheryl was in low spirits, Ferry knew that he had hit the target. She wouldn't continue to waste his time.
"Well, I have to go now. Please, continue to enjoy the coffee here. It really does taste good." Ferry knocked on the table as if lost in thought before he got up to leave.
After Ferry left, Sheryl still sat there at a complete loss and didn't have any reaction for a long time. She was not in the mood to drink coffee. Even if the coffee was the most delicious drink in the world, she didn't have any interest in it.
"Miss, would you like a different cup of coffee?" The waitress saw that Sheryl was sitting there, but didn't drink coffee, so she decided to check on her with a cautious inquiry.
The waitress' question brought Sheryl back to earth. She shook her head and said, "No, thanks. How much is it?"
"The gentleman that was with you already paid." The waitress smiled kindly at Sheryl.
Sheryl didn't want to sit there anymore, so she got up and left.
Sheryl was restless all the way back. She drove for only ten minutes, but she drove through a red light and almost hit another car because she was so distracted. She didn't know how she was able to reach the hospital in that state.
When she returned to the room, Charles had woken up. He saw her returning and waved at her, telling her to come sit down with him.
Sheryl's face was pale, but she forced a smile as she walked over to Charles. "What's wrong?"
"Did you go out?" After Charles had woken up, he hadn't seen Sheryl and was surprised. Then he thought about the phone call and was even more confused. He shook off the worst thoughts in his mind immediately. He just told himself that Sheryl went out for something, and she didn't have anything to hide from him.
