Chapter 490 Where Are You, Amanda…
The study door swung open just as the butler continued to shout outside. Rosie furrowed he brow andscolded in a hushed voice, “Leave! Eli is resting. Don’t disturb him!”
Rosie was genuinely concerned that it would disrupt the hypnosis effect. She didn’t want to waste thisrare opportunity she had found tonight.
“Miss Momsey, I came to inquire if Mr. Winters would like some tea or coffee. Furthermore, this is theWinters’ residence, and it’s not your place to interfere. After all, you are not Mr. Winters’ wife.”
Boris had grown tired of Rosie’s presence. She would visit every few days and always boss theWinters’ staff around as if she were already the lady of the house.
Even when Amanda was, she didn’t have many opinions about the staff.
So, who was Rosie, an outsider, to behave this way?
With that, he pushed open the study door and intended to enter. Rosie was startled and quicklystepped forward to stop him.
“What are you doing? I already said Eli is resting inside. You can’t go in. If he needs will call for you…”you, he
Before Rosie could finish her sentence, Boris interrupted her, “Miss Momsey, please understand yourposition. You are not the lady of the house here, and you have no right to command me.”
“How dare you speak to me like this! Are all the Winters’ staff this impolite? Is this how Eli usuallyteaches you!”
Just at that moment, the psychiatrist noticed that Elias was about to wake up.
She swiftly stood up and approached Rosie before whispering something in her ear. Rosie’s faceturned pale as she glanced at the man slumped over the desk.
“Well, you may leave now. I will contact you if I require anything. You don’t have to send me home. Eliwill have the driver take me later.” Rosie deliberately put on a show in front of the butler, making himbelieve that the psychiatrist was just her friend.
Despite seeing the true nature of the psychiatrist, Boris still harbored doubts. “When I entered the studyjust now, this young lady wasn’t here. How did she suddenly appear? Who let her in? Mr. Wintersdoesn’t see just anyone.”
“What are you doing? She’s my friend, and she came with me. I can’t just leave her behind, can I?”
Rosie was so afraid that Boris would investigate that she quickly signaled for the psychologist to leave.
Seizing the opportunity, the psychologist turned around and departed without wanting to linger for evena moment as she didn’t want to be discovered. She didn’t know how Elias. would react if he found outthat she had hypnotized him,
She had been in dire need of money lately, which was why she took on this job. Otherwise, she wouldhave ignored Rosie’s request.
After the psychologist left, he looked at Rosie and said, “It’s already late, Miss Momsey. You shouldreturn now. Mr. Winters is too occupied to accompany you, but I will have the driver take you back.”
“I can’t leave now. I have to wait for Eli to wake up…”
How could she leave now when she hadn’t even witnessed Elias waking up yet?
At that moment, there was a stir behind them as the man woke up, and both of them turned. to lookinstinctively.
Elias propped up his head and sat up from the desk with his brow furrowed. It seemed as though hehad just emerged from a long dream and was momentarily disoriented in his current surroundings.
Only when he looked up and saw Rosie and Boris did he realize that he was back in reality, that thedream was over.
Rosie cautiously called out, “Eli…”
Elias glanced at Boris and said, “Go and grab me a glass of water. I’m thirsty.”
“Alright.”
The butler turned and exited the room.
At this moment, only Rosie and Elias remained in the study.
The man stared at Rosie as if attempting to see through her, making her feel uneasy and toot afraid tomeet his gaze.
As Elias looked at Rosie, an inexplicable fondness welled up within him. He didn’t know where thisfeeling came from. It was as if something was compelling him to like Rosie, but his body resisted.
Both forces battled within him, which caused him pain and discomfort.
“Eli, are you… alright?”
Rosie felt that the way Elias was looking at her was peculiar. The psychologist had left too abruptlyearlier, and she hadn’t inquired about the effectiveness of the hypnosis this time.
Could it be that it hadn’t worked due to the butler’s interruption?
Rosie grew anxious, but Elias didn’t display any impatience toward her. Instead, he spoke in at deepvoice, “It’s late. Spend the night here.”
She looked up in confusion while gazing at Elias’ handsome face. Is he allowing me to stay overnight?
Is this for real?
Rosie thought she must have misheard, but Elias did indeed tell her to spend the night.
“Okay! Thank you, Eli!” She nodded happily.
At that moment, Boris entered the study with a glass of water and handed it to Elias.
Elias downed the entire glass of water in one gulp, then looked at Boris. “Prepare a room for Rosie. It’slate, and she will spend the night here.”
Boris was taken aback as he thought that he had also misheard. But when he glanced at the excitedRosie, he reluctantly nodded and answered, “Yes.”
“You may all leave. I wish to be alone.”
Elias felt his mind in turmoil at the moment, as if he had suddenly acquired numerous. fragmentedmemories. He wanted to sort through these jumbled memories in his mind and. had no desire toengage with anyone.
“Well, Eli, rest well. If you need anything, just call for me, and I will come immediately.”
Rosie happily departed from the study. As she turned around, a triumphant smile graced her face.
What does this mean?
It meant that the hypnosis had worked.
That is fantastic!
Elias has now changed its attitude toward her for the better.
After the butler left with Rosie, he couldn’t comprehend why Elias’ attitude toward her had made acomplete 180-degree turn just after three hours.
Although he couldn’t fathom it, he still arranged a guest room for Rosie to stay in.
Inside the study.
As Elias sat behind the desk, his mind was buzzing, and he was unable to calm down.
He pulled out a cigarette and placed it between his lips before lighting it. The smoke veiled. hishandsome face and, at the same time, intensified the jumbled memories that had been forcefullyimplanted in his mind.
He couldn’t fathom why these memories existed as they felt uncomfortable and peculiar.
However, he couldn’t dwell on that now. His utmost priority was to locate Amanda and deal with thatcall from the mysterious estate in New Montana.
Why was the child there? These uncertainties could only be accurately answered once Amanda wasfound.
After Elias extinguished the cigarette, he grabbed his phone and murmured softly, “Amanda, where areyou…
