The Beautiful and the Damned -
Too innocent for your own good
*Unedited*
"What can i say, i'm a bad cook" was all he said with a uncaring shrug. I flipped him off. "Well fuck you too Amica mea" he replied teasingly.
"Why didn't you just tell me you were a bad cook from the start?" I asked in bewilderment.
"I wanted to see how you'd react when you found out I couldn't cook. And trust me Amica mea you didn't disappoint" well glad he found this amusing. Too bad I didn't.
Out of the blue Seker snorted in disbelief. I looked at him questioningly. Going ahead he then said.
"I replace this particular situation we are in extremely cliche" I actually couldn't agree more, I nodded my head in agreement and chuckled a little. In all those Romance novels and movies things like this always happens, the girl telling the boy to cook for her or the boy being the one to cook of his own will, and the food either turns out too good or horrible, and in our case it was sadly the latter, I mean just how cliche could our lives get?
"Want to do something else that is extremely cliche and insanely cringy?" He asked with a playful grin. I really do love this playful side of his.
"Hmm" I said pretending I was thinking about his suggestion when I already had my answer.
With a replica of his grin on my own face now I spoke "why not. But first I'm incredibly hungry and what you gave me wasn't exactly what we humans call food" I teased.
"Hardy har har" he said dully making my smile to widen. He waved his hands dismissively and the plate containing the food he cooked for me disappeared before my very eyes and a fresh set of food appeared mildly spooking me, I should have gotten used to this by now.
"When did you--" cutting me off he said.
"I told the chef to prepare something for you before we finished our training I just reheated it" oh that explains what he was keeping inside the microwave when I first entered the kitchen.
"Thank you" and I really was thankful. He knew his food would taste bad so he made the chef make one before hand. His gesture really was sweet.
I looked up at him and frown.
"What about you aren't you going to eat?" I asked slightly concerned, I knew he hadn't had anything to eat himself.
He gave me a warm smile "gods don't necessarily have to eat Amica mea, we can survive without it through out our immortal lives, only when we choose to, that we eat" Hmm interesting, Lucky brats. "Oh" was all I said.
"It's okay Amica mea you can eat I'm quite okay" if this man smiles too often I do believe I would be needing a new heart.
Not wasting any more time I dug in, and damn this chef knew his way in the kitchen, the food tasted soo good that I groaned out. It tasted heavenly.
I saw Seker stiffen from my side gaze, apparently he was now sitting down on the chair opposite me. Did something happen to him?
"Anything the matter" I voiced out my concern.
"By the gods Amica mea, Sometimes you're too innocent for your own good" I heard him mutter to himself. What was he getting at? "What?" I raised an eyebrow in questioning.
"Nothing" he told me quickly "Right about what I asked of you before, can we commence?" swallowing another spoon full I nodded my head in confirmation.
"Great, this time we are going to play twenty questions" he said. I groaned out loud in mortification physically cringing.
"What?" His gruffly chuckled "I read on the net that that's the game female humans like playing when they want to know things about their partners" I tried soo much to stop myself from turning red when he mentioned the word partners, but sadly I still went on ahead to blush.
"Well apparently not all human females like it, seeing as I don't" I countered blood still flushed to my cheeks by the way. "Apparently so" he said in a low haunting voice a smile still on his face. He was awfully smiling a lot today, I wonder why. "Why don't we twist it a little then" he said repeating the same words I said to him earlier today.
"What do you have in mind?" I asked taking another spoon full of my food.
"We will do twenty questions but ours is going to be with a twist of magic" becoming more Intrigued by the minute I just had to say. "I'm listening"
"Ok here" he said as a wizard looking hat appeared from tin air. Look at that I wasn't even shocked this time, guess we are making progress. "A hat?" I questioned skeptically.
"Not just any hat, a magic hat" he grinned widely making him look five times younger.
"Really?!" I squealed the magic nerd in me coming to light.
"Yup" he responded Popping the 'p'.
He then went on to explain "As I've told you it's a magic hat, it's like a hat that is a magical lie detector and here is the really cool part" he drew closer to me, my food was far forgotten at this point "It can talk" I screeched loudly clapping my hands like a lunatic "Really?" I asked.
"Yes Amica Mae" my smile widened largely. A certain scene from the part one of Harry Potter coming to mind.
I was about to ask more questions when my phone abruptly rang. I looked at the caller ID and smile, it was Rina I haven't talked to her in days. If it was another person that called I wouldn't be too eager to pick the phone rather I'd be quite irritated considering that I and Seker were getting somewhere in out weird slightly complicated relationship.
Giving Seker an apologetic smile I then answered the call.
"Hey girl" I said with vivid enthusiasm.
"Beth something terrible happened you need to come back to New York right away" hearing the urgency and uneasiness in her voice I frowned, my enthusiastic behavior from before dying down. Fear suddenly overtook me.
I looked up at Seker and from the frown gracing his face I know he had definitely heard the call.
"Guess our little game will have to be postponed to a later time huh"
