THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER -
Chapter 39: Leon got jealous
At the behest of CEO Leon, Jee will become the ambassador for the LT brand. Mark vehemently opposed the decision, especially since Jee's attitude toward Leon was less than favorable, particularly after discovering that she was indeed Sara. "Mark, she is my choice, and no one else should have a say in this."
Mark was unconvinced, fearing Jee might turn against them, potentially jeopardizing the company.
"I know you favor her, but please reconsider this decision in light of your past with her. There are many suitable celebrities for this role so that it can be someone other than her. Firstly, her intentions towards you are not good. If not, she accepts your affection. Secondly, she is merely a rising actress; I doubt she can handle this position."
Mark could create opportunities for him if Leon wished to foster and develop feelings. To Mark, LT was as vital as life itself, so he couldn't let Leon take any risks.
Leon, infuriated, slammed his hand on the table, startling Mark.
"You've been with me for so many years and still don't understand that once I decide to pursue something, I see it through to the end, with or without a valid reason. If you continue to oppose me, you may leave the company anytime. Do you think I chose her merely out of affection?"
Mark felt deeply aggrieved as he was cast out. It was the first time Leon had spoken to him so harshly.
...
Jee adorned herself in a red strapless gown embellished with hand-embroidered roses, radiating elegance. Each outfit she wore was a unique design, ensuring she never duplicated anyone else's style. A large bow adorned her chest, serving as a striking focal point. She was seductive and majestic in this ensemble, like a noble lady, captivating all who saw her.
Leon bestowed Jee with extensive privileges because he intended to rekindle their old bond. Despite Jee's resolute demeanor, Leon did not believe he could fail to soften her heart.
Becoming the exclusive ambassador for LT's new cosmetics line would elevate Jee's prominence and prestige, rivaling any starlet. Leon did this because he wanted the world to know that only she deserved to be his muse.
Leon personally selected a sleek, dark red suit that Sara adored. He wanted her to realize that his love for her had remained unchanged. Moreover, with their daughter Lina between them, he felt fully entitled to dream of a warm, happy family life with her.
It had been a long time since Leon had smiled, so his humming a tune while selecting shoes surprised Mark. Leon, usually stoic in joy or sorrow, appeared genuinely happy, indicating his delight.
"There are still two hours before the event starts; we can wait a bit longer before heading over."
"No need to hurry. Arriving a bit early is fine. I want to check if the preparations are up to par."
Instead of his usual car, Leon opted for a newly acquired Mercedes-Maybach - Exelero from abroad. Its glossy black finish and lightning-fast speed truly reflected Leon's style in both his professional and personal life.
Leon tried to maintain his composure, though internally, he was in a tumult of emotions. Soon, he would announce something groundbreaking to the world.
As the Maybach pulled up, it nearly collided with a sporty yellow Ferrari. Stepping out to the cheers of the event's attendees were none other than Jee and Henry. Together, they waved at the crowd, with Henry deliberately wrapping his arm around Jee's waist, casting a triumphant glance at Leon.
A reporter approached Jee with a microphone.
"May I know the nature of your relationship with him?"
Before Jee could speak, Henry signaled for the microphone and responded with a cheerful smile.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Henry," he said, looking tenderly at Jee.
"She is an artist managed by my company. All of her artistic endeavors are directed, arranged, and executed by us. As her boss and friend, I sincerely thank all the fans, journalists, media, and partners who have loved, supported, and assisted her."
Leon smirked derisively, "He acts like her boyfriend."
Mark sensed a strong undercurrent of jealousy in Leon's words.
Suddenly, a reporter noticed Leon's presence and asked him a question.
"Your girlfriend seems highly valued by her superiors and even chauffeured to events. As her boyfriend, do you have anything to say?"
Mark silently prayed for Leon to remain composed lest the event he had meticulously prepared dissolve into chaos.
"My girlfriend is excellent in all aspects, except her man choices, because I am by her side."
Jee couldn't help but smile; his response made Leon seem almost childlike, starkly contrasting his usual calm demeanor.
Henry's face clouded over, and he forced a smile in response.
"Now you're into fortune-telling too?"
The reporter found this exchange quite intriguing and wanted to continue, but the event organizers intervened as it was time for the event to begin. Reluctantly, the three of them entered the venue.
In front of the lavishly decorated stage, Jee was like a princess stepping out of a fairy tale. It had been a long time since she had relived the feeling of happiness she once knew. It could be said she had found herself again, and the only person who could understand her and bring her that feeling was Leon.
After the announcement of the LT brand ambassador concluded, people dispersed to engage in other activities. Leon saw Jee standing in a corner, sipping wine. He approached her politely and asked her to dance. Jee visibly recoiled, wanting to refuse, but Leon was determined to persuade her.
"If you refuse, it means you haven't forgotten me; otherwise, why even the prospect of being just friends is untenable?"
"Whether we are lovers or partners, it's only in name. Don't delude yourself."
"And what about him? Is he allowed his delusions?"
"That's none of your business. Men shouldn't be so meddlesome."
Jee turned to leave, but Leon quickly grabbed her, pinning her against the wall, his voice marked by anger.
"We have a child together; don't even think about another man."
"Quiet, there are people here. If they hear, this drama won't be able to continue."
The more Leon heard, the angrier he became, impulsively kissing her neck to vent his frustration.
"Who says I'm acting? I want the whole world to know you're mine."
Jee took advantage of his distraction, kicking hard and causing Leon intense pain as he released her. As Jee walked away, Leon followed swiftly but lost sight of her by the fountain. There, he unexpectedly encountered Henry on the phone. "Stop looking, you'll never have her."
Leon grabbed Henry's collar, tempted to strike him, but reconsidered his company's image.
"On what basis can you be so sure?"
"It's based on the damage you've done to her in the past." Leon remained composed, his gaze steadfast on his rival.
"The past is gone; what matters is what we have now. Let me show you this."
Leon then showed Henry the wallpaper on his phone. Seeing the adorable photo of Lina soundly sleeping in Leon's arms, Henry's face turned ashen. He wished he could make Leon disappear from the world right then.
A few days ago, while Jessica and Mrs. Laly were not paying attention, Mark had taken Lina out to meet Leon, giving him precious moments with his daughter. Henry, despite his scheming, couldn't achieve what Leon currently had.
