THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER
Chapter 41: Jee mistakenly texted Henry

Leon stopped at a children's clothing store on returning to the office. Gazing at the tiny dresses, shoes, and colorful hats for girls, he couldn't hide his affection and exclaimed. "Look at this; the blue lace dress is so adorable. Should we get that for our daughter?"

Jee rolled her eyes, then fixed them on Leon's eager face with disdain; she honestly did not want him to have any closeness with Lina.

"She is my daughter alone, so you don't need to worry about these things."

Seeing that Jee had no intention of reconciling, Leon decided to clarify his stance.

"Now that you're famous, publicizing matters about our child is very sensitive. You won't have the upper hand if it goes to court." "What do you mean?"

Leon lifted her chin gently, pulling her closer, and declared firmly.

"If we can't settle this amicably, I'll seek legal intervention to regain custody. I am her father; I have rights."

Jee was struck as if by lightning; she couldn't believe Leon could be so ruthless and realized she had to look out for herself first.

"You're threatening me? I gave birth to and cared for her; on what grounds do you challenge me?"

"I've said it; I'm her father. Moreover, you didn't tell me about her existence when she was born."

"I don't want my daughter to know that her father is the man who caused her grandfather's death and her mother to be thrown onto the streets." "That's all in the past; why do you insist on bringing it up again? If I say that your father's death had nothing to do with me, would you believe me?" "I will not be deceived by you ever again."

Leon looked at Jee with eyes full of anger, wanting to explain, but Jee didn't give him a chance.

"I want to get out of the car."

Mark looked at Leon as if waiting for a command. Suddenly, Leon pulled Jee close, his voice deep and persistent.

"I will give you everything you want; just return to me and our child."

Jee glared at him with eyes full of hatred and reproach.

"I will never give you what you want. Dream on."

The car door swung open, and Jee stepped out quickly, then hailed a taxi alone and left. She tried to cover her face so the press and passersby wouldn't recognize her. Her heart clenched; she wanted to escape, yet when Leon spoke, her heart wavered.

Truthfully, every time they met, the tragic images of her late father haunted her mind, and so she pushed Leon further away.

Sitting in the taxi, she tried not to look back, but her eyes remained fixed on the rearview mirror until she was far away. Lina was her only flesh and blood, and failing to protect her daughter felt like losing her reason for living. Approaching her home, Jee suddenly asked the driver to stop by a children's park. She sat alone on a swing. Lina was still young, and since her birth, she had rarely been able to be by her mother's side due to the secrecy of their situation. Jee felt like a terrible mother, unable even to enjoy a simple walk with her child.

Every time her daughter was sick, she worried, her mind scattered and unfocused in everything she did. She wished she could openly care for and love her child as other mothers do. If Leon contested custody, she feared she might lose her daughter forever.

Jee couldn't sleep tonight, haunted by Leon's words. She took out her phone and reviewed her photos that morning. A thought sparked in her mind: if Leon lost everything, he would no longer be able to threaten her and her daughter's peace. Moreover, his downfall would mean her revenge was complete.

Jee texted Jessica to inquire if she knew someone from Leon's rival company.

"Di Di, do you still keep in touch with that friend of yours who's a perfume formulation expert? Leon's company is launching a new perfume line called Every Girls, aimed at women from all backgrounds, and is expected to hit the market in a month. I want to replace a professional to analyze its components and quality. I don't want him to succeed, so this must end tragically for him."

Henry, fresh out of the shower, his white robe casually revealing a mature man's toned and irresistibly attractive torso, checked his incoming messages. The message from Jee stopped him cold. It turned out that Leon's confidence about winning was because he was working on a major project and had staked all his hopes on it.

That evening, when the two met, Leon coldly declared.

"Sara is mine; I am the man who truly makes her happy. I have money, fame, and love. You were just a substitute before, and you still are now."

Henry clenched his fist, "Leon, you're too arrogant."

Henry had long harbored resentment towards Leon; they were destined to be adversaries over the same woman. For over a year, Henry had stayed out of the picture, focusing on his career, waiting for the day his success would make Leon pay for his arrogance.

He hadn't expected Leon to be so well-prepared; if he could bring him down this time, Henry would hold the upper hand.
