THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER
Chapter 45: Mark and Jessica go on a date

The disappearance of rival Sky & Star Cosmetic Company paved the way for LT's career path to broaden significantly. This move by Leon not only eliminated a competitor but created momentum for remarkable growth.

Orders at LT surged by three hundred percent, requiring departments to work overtime to meet the increasing customer demand. Alone in his office, Mark watched the raindrops clash against the windowpane, pushing one another in a relentless fall. Life's tumultuous pace had drawn him into fierce competition and hustle. Reflecting on his life, he realized he was nearly thirty and had yet to fall in love.

A couple, sharing an umbrella and laughing together, passed by the window, intensifying his loneliness. Jessica was the only girl who had ever stirred his heart. His spirits lifted with her laughter, worry set in when she pouted, and unease took over when they argued.

Since their first meeting at a wedding, Mark had harbored feelings for her. The girl whose coy smile revealed a charming snaggletooth had occupied his heart. During their walks with Lina, Mark secretly wished this were reality: a small family of his own, with a wife and children.

Mark shut down his computer and headed home as the rain ceased. The streets were nearly empty late at night, and a chilly wind carrying the rain's moisture added a somber touch to the atmosphere.

As if by habit, Mark glanced over at the neighboring house; Jessica was still awake. He looked up at her window, the light still on. Mark thought, "Go to sleep early, take care of yourself, little one." Sadly, he heard these words alone as he quietly entered his house.

Since their argument, Jessica hadn't received any form of contact from Mark, and her anger gradually shifted to longing.

Opening her computer, Jessica accidentally clicked on a folder labeled "My Love," which puzzled her. After a moment of thought, she realized that Mark had used her laptop to send an urgent email the day before, as he was under repair and had left his phone at the office. This folder must be his.

Curiosity led her to open it, and inside were photos of her, some taken without her knowledge. They captured everyday moments-eating, laughing, talking, studying, watching Lina. Each moment, they had been preserved through Mark's lens with vivid sincerity.

The more Jessica scrolled, the more skeptical she became. The man who always seemed so formal around her had cherished every gesture and action of hers.

A photo taken from behind, her hair fluttering as they walked along the beach together, was identical to the profile picture he used. Once, Jessica had asked about that picture, but Mark had deflected to another topic. "Is this your girlfriend?"

Mark, silent, went into the kitchen to warm up milk for Lina. Initially, he had been clumsy with the task, but he had become much more adept these days. Seeing that Mark did not respond, Jessica felt awkward and did not bring it up again. She thought, how could such a remarkable man still be single at this point?

Finally, Jessica understood; she couldn't help but grab her phone to text Mark.

"What are you doing?"

The message was sent, but she couldn't take her eyes off the screen, checking her phone every ten seconds for a reply. Soon enough, Mark responded. "I'm missing you."

Jessica's heart raced, thumping wildly-this was the first time a man had told her he missed her. Without hesitation, she closed her laptop and hurried out.

Mark heard the doorbell ring, hesitant about who could be visiting at such a late hour, but when he saw Jessica through the video screen, he didn't say a word and rushed to the gate. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with longing and a touch of remorse.

Then, like a gust of wind, he wrapped his arms around the one he loved, and a fierce passion surged through their intense kiss. Mark scooped Jessica into his arms, hurrying into the house before the next rain shower could start.

He set her down on the spacious sofa, his breath heavy as he looked into Jessica's dreamy eyes and softly asked.

"Do you regret this?"

Jessica wrapped her arms around his neck, slowly nodding her head. Mark finally understood the immense power of love. He had once blamed Leon for letting love destroy him, but now, standing before the woman he loved, he found himself utterly unrestrained.

"I don't regret it either."

Another kiss met their lips, the emotions between them growing more intense. The chill of the rain acted as a catalyst, accelerating the chemical reaction of love between them. Amidst the enthusiasm, he heard Jessica whisper his name.

A man like Mark, who had always been devoted to his work, displayed fierce and robust passion akin to a wild beast when trapped by love. All his desires were fully expressed, and nothing was held back.

In his heart, Jessica had long resided, only kept hidden due to the complex relationship between Sara and Leon. Now that their affection was evident, nothing and no one could obstruct his love. Watching Jessica sleep peacefully in his arms, Mark gently kissed her forehead, admiring every detail of her lovely face, enraptured. Without realizing it, he whispered the three words: "I love you."
