Holden's face went pale. "Saskia just made a mistake. Please, give her another chance."

Saskia was his only sister; how could he stand by and watch her get kicked out of the Lynette family?

"Why are you begging him, brother?"

Saskia, too proud to apologize to Yuri, retorted, "If I have to leave the Lynette family, so be it. I don't want to stay here. Just spend your life with Brittany!"

With those harsh words, Saskia stormed off.

Gabriel was shocked by her boldness, apologized to Yuri on her behalf, and chased after her.

Holden stood rooted to the spot.

Once Yuri had calmed down, he turned to Brittany, "Don't worry, I'll make sure this gets sorted for you."

"Okay."

The evidence was irrefutable.

Saskia was suspected of framing someone, and by dawn the next day, the police took her away for questioning.

When the news broke, the Brandt family was furious.

Gabriel couldn't believe Saskia had been so reckless. Knowing Yuri's favoritism towards Brittany, she still dared to harm her!

"Gabriel, you must make amends with the Lynette family properly," Mrs. Brandt said sternly. "Even if I don't like her, she's still part of the Brandt family. Once this is settled, as long as she keeps her head down, we can support her." After all, it was about supporting a family member, and taking care of Saskia wasn't too much to ask.

"I understand."

...

Brittany's name was cleared.

"Dad, did you replace those pieces of evidence?"

"Some of them, yes. But most of it came from an anonymous email," Yuri admitted. "Bri, I'm sorry I let you down."

An anonymous email?

Brittany couldn't think of anyone who would help her... unless was Isaac.

"Dad, can I see the original email?"

Yuri agreed happily.

Brittany noted the sender's email address and carefully read the content. She had to admit, the email had helped her a lot.

Back in her room, Brittany sent a reply.

Just one line.

Thank you.

There was no response.

Brittany waited till midnight but gave up when no reply came.

Isaac, having received the email, chose not to respond but instead erased all traces.

As expected.

Yuri had Saskia expelled from the Lynette family.

The Brandt family, not to be underestimated, spent a considerable amount to smooth things over. Saskia avoided jail, but the scandal had ruined her future prospects. "Mr. Salter, Saskia is out."

Nathan had been keeping an eye on Saskia.

"Cut her off at the knees, but keep it clean."

Merely ruining her future wasn't enough.

Nathan shuddered at Isaac's capability but dared not voice his concerns. "Understood."

The next day.

News of Saskia's car accident, resulting in the amputation of her right leg, trended on Twitter.

When Brittany saw the news, she felt there was more to it. But after verifying the accident was indeed an accident, she let it go.

With her name cleared, Brittany returned to the Lynette Conglomerate.

Yuri was determined to pave the way for her, giving his most trusted aide to Brittany, leaving the rest of the Lynette family simmering in silent anger.

On Brittany's first day back at the Lynette Conglomerate, she received a bouquet of flowers with a note that read, "Congratulations."

Looking at the elegant handwriting on the note, Brittany felt a twinge of pain in her temple.

It was as if something was about to break free.
