Ethan knew exactly why Brittany had reached out to him first and also knew it was her way of conceding, "Ms. Lynette, just call me Ethan." "Alright, I've booked a place for dinner. See you later."

After hanging up, Brittany couldn't hold back any longer. She grabbed a bottle of perfume from her desk and hurled it to the floor, shaking with rage!

...

After the call, Ethan phoned the Queen: "Ms. Lynette got in touch. The Lynette family is finally backing down."

"Hmph!" The Queen snorted. "Over the years, the Lynette family has grown more and more prosperous. If we can't make them our allies, they'll become a thorn in our side!"

The Queen was pleased with Brittany but wary of the Lynette family's influence and wealth, their passion for charity, and their widespread fame. To them, it represented a significant risk.

"Mother, Ms. Lynette is to be my wife. If we truly offend her, it will complicate our marriage in the future."

The Queen paused for a moment: "Understood."

You can't always have your cake and eat it too!

Ethan changed into a crisp white suit and headed to the restaurant Brittany had reserved.

The restaurant was nearly empty, Brittany had booked the whole place.

Seeing Ethan arrive, Brittany stood up: "You're here."

Approaching, Ethan noticed Brittany seemed much more subdued today, her face lightly made up, her eyes sparkling with a restrained smile. It seemed the situation with the Lynette family had upset her, but she hid it well. "Ms. Lynette, I've spoken to my mother about Mr. Lynette's situation. He'll be home soon."

Brittany bit her lip. The royal family was using the Lynette family to press her into this marriage. "Let's eat."

Brittany didn't want to talk about it, and Ethan didn't push.

Raised with a sterling education, Ethan's every gesture and word exuded gentlemanly charm.

But Brittany resisted his touch. If not for being placed in a tight spot, why would she dine with him?

Throughout the meal, Ethan tried to showcase his manners, but Brittany was unimpressed.

Seeing her mood, Ethan didn't press further. Before leaving, he slid a small, elegant box across the table to Brittany, who accepted it this time.

Inside was a pair of sapphire earrings, sparkling and clearly of high quality.

"I recently acquired these earrings. Do you like them, Ms. Lynette?"

Brittany rarely wore earrings.

The sapphire earrings were exquisitely crafted but heavy. Brittany could imagine the weight on her ears.

Thinking of Yuri, Brittany carefully put on the earrings and looked at Ethan: "Ethan, do they look good?"

The sapphires dangled, highlighting her pale skin.

Brittany's complexion was very fair, and the contrast between the blue and white created a stunning effect. Ethan was mesmerized for a moment before he managed to look away. "They look beautiful on you, very fitting."

When he first saw those earrings, Ethan immediately thought of Brittany. Seeing her wearing them surpassed his expectations.

Ethan personally dropped Brittany back at the Lynette Mansion, where Yuri had already returned.

He'd been to the police station, where he didn't have the easiest time, but he hadn't been mistreated either.

"Bri, Prince Ethan."

Yuri looked serious, understanding Brittany had compromised upon seeing them return together.

"Mr. Lynette."

Ethan followed, stepping out of the car: "This matter has been resolved. I've brought Ms. Lynette back. I'll pay a visit myself soon." "Alright."

After Ethan left, Yuri looked at Brittany with guilt: "Bri, I'm sorry."
