Hestia gently set Twila down, her face marked by concern. "How many times have you met him?" "Twice."

Twila's eyes were wide with innocence. "Mom, what's wrong?"

Hestia took a deep breath. "From now on, I don't want you seeing him again."

But Twila protested, "But he's so cool, and he's really nice to me."

Hestia's face darkened. "Listen to me, please."

Twila was taken aback, and after a moment, she softly apologized, "Mom, I understand now."

Realizing she might have been too harsh, Hestia hugged her. "Twila, you're the most important person in my life. I can't bear the thought of anything happening to you, okay?"

Though Twila was saddened at the thought of not seeing Eltham again, her mother mattered more. She tried to act more grown-up than her years, reassuring her mother with a pat, "Mom, don't worry. I'll always be here with you." Hestia sighed in relief but remained vigilant, constantly keeping Twila close to ensure she wouldn't run into Eltham again.

Nathan stopped by to visit Twila, bringing a bouquet of flowers and some of Twila's favorite cupcakes.

Twila greeted him sweetly, "Mr. Jarvis."

Nathan playfully pinched her cheek, then turned to Hestia, "Ms. Bennett, I've arranged for the best doctors to give Twila a thorough check-up."

Since moving to Craneville, Twila had been sick quite frequently. Hestia was worried there might be an underlying issue making her restless.

She wanted to have Twila fully checked but was struggling to make it happen.

Nathan extended his help upon learning about this.

Hestia smiled, "Nathan, thank you. That's very kind of you."

"It's nothing," Nathan replied, his pleasure evident at her smile. "I care a lot about Twila's well-being."

The comprehensive check-up revealed Twila's sickness was due to not adapting well to Craneville's climate. A bit of acclimatization and care were all that was required.

With the results in, Hestia's anxiety finally eased. She had been so worried she'd barely eaten, visibly losing weight.

Nathan, noticing her distressed state, voiced his concern, "Ms. Bennett, you need to take care of yourself."

With a grateful smile, Hestia replied, "Thank you, I will."

...

Brittany was in high spirits after her prenatal appointment, her joy and anticipation evident.

Eltham had never seen this side of Brittany before. Her usual cold demeanor had given way to a more genuine warmth.

He suddenly found himself accepting the idea of their child, if only because it seemed to bring Brittany happiness.

Brittany, oblivious to Eltham's thoughts, was completely focused on their future child, the past hardships of pregnancy forgotten, replaced with excitement for the new life. Eltham decided to cook dinner, and Brittany enjoyed the meal immensely.

Eltham, mostly just sipping his soup, suggested, "You should take it easy with the work. And maybe stay away from the Lynette Conglomerate for a while." Brittany paused, "So, I'm basically grounded?"

Eltham massaged his temples, "Stay here, and after the baby is born, you can do anything you want."

Brittany slammed her utensils down, "On what grounds do you restrict my freedom?"

"I'm your fiancé," Eltham said, a depth in his gaze. "I'll return your phone. You're free to do as you please as long as you stay indoors."

Knowing the importance of a pregnant woman's happiness, he had to compromise.

Brittany was surprised by his concession. After a moment, she resumed eating.

Eltham didn't stay the night.

Brittany, enjoying her newfound freedom, reclaimed her phone. Yet, she still couldn't reach out to Isaac, knowing her phone was under constant surveillance.
