The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart (Brittany and Isaac) -
Chapter 1178
"Star Elementary is the best school in Craneville, and since Twila is your first child, she should definitely go here."
Eltham had no objections, simply responding. "You handle it, please."
"The incident this morning, let's not have a repeat of that," the Queen said, her tone laced with dissatisfaction. "Brittany, an adult, picking fights with Twila-" "Wasn't it Twila who was fighting with Bri?"
Eltham challenged, "Mother, just because Twila is young doesn't mean she can be unreasonable."
The Queen knew Eltham always had a soft spot for Brittany and was not pleased.
After discussing some official matters, Eltham, before leaving, brought up Hestia again: "Mother, Hestia might be Twila's mother, but she and I are done. If you're planning something, I'd advise against it." The Queen's expression slightly changed, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Eltham just smiled and left.
After he was gone, the Queen had her servants bring Hestia back.
This wasn't Hestia's first encounter with the Queen, and she appeared timid, cautiously asking, "Your Majesty, did you want to see me for something?"
The Queen frowned upon seeing Hestia's lack of sophistication, "You look so much like Brittany, yet you're worlds apart."
Brittany was top-notch in every way, but Hestia... wasn't fit to show off.
Hestia bit her lip, knowing she couldn't compare to Brittany, yet feeling a sting in being directly compared.
"Yes, I'm no match for Ms. Lynette-"
"You gave Eltham a daughter, or else I wouldn't have bothered bringing you back."
The Queen scrutinized Hestia, "I'll hire the best etiquette tutor for you. If you haven't improved in three months, you won't need to stay in Craneville." She didn't bring them back for a family reunion!
Hestia didn't understand the Queen's intentions but dared not disobey.
The Queen found the best etiquette tutor for Hestia.
The tutor was surprised at first glance at Hestia but quickly regained her composure.
Hestia's manners were far from satisfactory in the tutor's eyes.
She tailored a comprehensive course for her, but the results were mediocre.
Repeated corrections were futile, leaving the tutor frustrated.
She muttered under her breath, "You look so much like Ms. Lynette, yet the difference is day and night."
One was the epitome of grace, the other timid and unable to even stand straight!
Hestia felt as if she'd been slapped, her face draining of color.
The tutor was about to shake her head in disappointment when suddenly, she was shoved to the ground: "Don't you dare talk about my mom!" Twila glared fiercely at the tutor, "My mom is the best mom in the world, nothing like that awful woman!"
As the tutor stood up, she
disdainfully sized up Twila and scoffed, "Like mother, like daughter, no wonder neither of you cam present yourselves."
"Tell the Queen, I can't teach this."
The tutor, not one to take insults lightly, complained, "I cannot teach Ms. Bennett!"
The servants gasped as the tutor grabbed her belongings and left.
Hestia was shocked Twila had acted out, asking, "Twila, who taught you to hit people?"
Twila felt justified, "She was bad-mouthing mom. She's the bad one; she deserved it!"
Grandma said she was a princess, and the whole world should treat her as such!
Hestia noticed a change in her daughter but couldn't pinpoint it exactly. Squatting down, she asked, "Is the Queen nice to you?"
"Grandma likes me, and dad's good
to me too." Thinking of Brittany, Twila frowned, "But that bad woman wants to take dad away. I don't like her
"Twila, she's not a bad woman." Hestia suddenly covered her
daughter's mouth, whispering
your father's future wife. You can't talk like that."
Twila muffled a protest, and Hestia, fearing she couldn't breathe, let go, "You can't say things like that again."
"Why not?" Twila didn't understand, "Doesn't mom want to be with dad? We should be together, and that bad woman is trying to split us up!"
Hestia didn't want to drag her into adult conflicts, "Twila, it's not like that. Your dad and I split up a long time ago."
It was her own scheming that led to Twila's birth.
