Chapter 471

She was swiftly moved to a private hospital under The Salter Group's wing on the same day

The security at the hospital was locked up tight. All of Isaac's men were standing guard at the entrance and around the building. She was watched like a hawk, not even a trip to the restroom granted her any privacy. Hannah, upon hearing Brittany had been taken away, was livid. She wanted to confront Isaac but was stopped by Brittany, "Hannah, keep your nose out of

this."

Hannah was at her wits' end, "Bri..."

"Hannah, the situation between Isaac and me is a can of worms we cant deal with for now."

"I need you to keep an eye on Bri-jeweled Studio. As for the Dustin Group, I'll pass it onto someone I trust," Brittany's voice was hoarse, "And don't spill the beans to Randell, don't drag your family into this." Hannah knew Brittany was trying to spare them from getting dragged into the mess. It made her even more remorseful, "I'm so sorry. I screwed up."

Brittany wanted to reply, but the door to her room swung open.

It was Isaac

1 gotta hang up now" Brittany ended the call and glared at Isaac. "What do you want?"

Ever since their relationship hit rock bottom, all harmony seemed to have evaporated between them. Brittany couldn't even bear to feign the sweetness she used to.

Isaac gestured for the doctor to step forward.

"Mrs. Salter, we need to run some tests on you. Please cooperate."

Brittany didn't put up a fight.

Her health was her top priority. She got that much

Isaac moved over to the floor-to-ceiling window, glancing over his shoulder as the doctor began Brittany's check-up.

Brittany was getting impatient with the extensive array of tests, "Doc, I just had a miscarriage. Do we need all these tests?" They had taken seven whole vials of blood for tests

The list of tests was a mile long

The doctor instinctively looked at Isaac, as if seeking his input on how to respond.

"Mrs. Salter, you're weak. Since you're already here, you might as well get a full checkup. Then we can be completely reassured" "Alright."

Brittany complied with all the tests. Finally, the medical team left.

She hadn't eaten anything since morning, and with all the blood they took, she was feeling light-headed; her vision even began to blur. Isaac walked over to her bed, opened a thermos from the bedside table, and poured out a bowl of chicken soup. 'Have some soup." Brittany wasn't in the mood, but she was feeling awful.

She accepted the bowl. After one sip, she knew Isaac made that soup

The guy was injured but still found the time to make soup. What a faker!

Brittany had half the bowl, which made her feel slightly better. She put the bowl down and gave Isaac a cold stare.

He must have come straight after making the soup.

Still in the same clothes, stained with blood, looking rather shabby.

The sight of him cutting himself sent shivers down her spine.

Tve had the check-up and the soup. Mr. Salter, anything else?"

Her coldness hurt Isaac. He stood up.

Brittany thought he was leaving, but he returned with a pile of documents, "Take a look."

She absentmindedly opened the folder. It contained detailed information about the Chester family and Randell

"The Chester family has had their fair share of dirty laundry over the years. If you're thinking about divorcing me, you might want to go through these." Brittany clutched the documents, the sound of her crumpling on the papers filled the room.

Isaac pulled her into a hug, his hands resting on her waist.

Since the surgery, Brittany lost even more weight.

All the weight she'd worked hard to put on was gone.

A ricker of heartache crossed his eyes. Once he got his hands on the antidote, he'd take care of her himself and nurse her back to health.

Suddenly, Brittany threw the documents in his face, her eyes filled with loathing. "Don't worry. I won't let the Chester family get into hot water because of
