Chapter 606

Isaac's interest in her was clear as day, and it was only a matter of time before they patched things up. When that happened, Isaac bringing trouble to the Dillion family was inevitable.

Brittany knew exactly what Timothy was thinking, and she felt guilty.

She had ruined William's leg and the reputation of the Dillion family.

Brittany shook her head. "I will transfer all my shares to William. I don't need any money."

Timothy was shocked. He clearly didn't expect Brittany to give up such a fortune.

The Dillion Group pulled through the crisis, so the stock price kept climbing, and the value of the shares Brittany held had long exceeded 100 million dollars.

"Ms. Dustin, are you sure?"

"I'm sure." Brittany was firm. "Mr. Dillion, I'm really sorry about the wedding."

Timothy was unsure of what to do, then he asked, "The kid... It's yours and Isaac's, right?"

Olivia had already told the Dillion family that Brittany and Isaac had a child.

"Yes, I just found out."

"Since you two have a child together, you'll probably end up together." Timothy looked serious. "Ms. Dustin, you've done the Dillion family a favor, and I don't want things to be awkward. You and William can't be together." The Dillion family was at Isaac's mercy, and they didn't dare upset him.

Brittany knew Timothy wouldn't approve of their relationship, causing her eyelashes to tremble slightly.

She never thought about getting back together with Isaac. She was even desperate to leave Imperial City so she could escape everything related to the Salter family.

"Ms. Dustin, William has had a tough time these past few years; I don't want any more problems. I'm his father, and I want my son to have a peaceful life. The longer you two stay together, the less likely the Salter family will leave us alone. I hope you understand." Brittany's

changed slightly, and after a while, she tightened her grip on her bag and took a deep breath. "I understand."

When came

out,

William left with her.

"What did my dad talk to you about?"

Brittany didn't resist his hand, allowing him to lead her. "I've discussed this with Mr. Dillion. I'm transferring all of my shares to you."

William stopped in his tracks. "Are you trying to break up with me?"

Brittany knew he wouldn't accept it easily. She forced a smile. "William, the wedding was a mess, and the Dillion family's reputation was hurt because of me. I can't let them get involved with me anymore."

William stepped back as his eyes filled with sadness and disappointment.

"I've done a paternity test on Daniel." Brittany's tongue began to tie up. "He's my child; I don't have the energy to think about anything else; I just want to take him away."

Even though Timothy wasn't harsh, she still felt deeply hurt.

Her reputation was ruined, and dragging William down with her would only cause him trouble. Furthermore, the Dillion family just got out of a crisis; if they were targeted again, everything she had done would be for nothing. William stepped back, not daring to look into Brittany's eyes.

"I understand."

It was already late at night when Brittany left the Dillion family's home.

Night fell, and the streets and alleys seemed to be covered in frost. Brittany staggered back to her home and pushed open the door to replace nothing but an empty house.

She closed the door, walked into the bedroom, and collapsed on the bed. She felt like all her strength had been drained; every part of her body was in pain.

In the darkness, her sobs echoed.

As soon as Brittany left, Timothy contacted Isaac. "I've explained everything to Brittany. Zac, don't break your promise, and don't let our decades of friendship disappear." Isaac got up, holding Daniel in one hand and pulling a suitcase with the other, heading straight for Brittany's house.

Brittany, half asleep, heard the knock on the door.

She struggled to get up, opened the door in a daze, and was surprised by the weight in her arms. "Mom, I missed you so much!"
