Chapter 621

Stella arched an eyebrow, "Joseph, didn't we agree not to meddle in each other's affairs?"

Indeed, they were engaged. But their relationship was more like siblings than lovers.

Their engagement was virtually unbreakable.

With their families being deeply connected, breaking off the engagement would bring about unbearable consequences. So they'd long agreed to delay their wedding as much as possible.

They also agreed to keep out of each other's business even after marriage, as long as it wasn't public knowledge. Joseph took a sip of his coffee, "He's really into you, Stella. Keep it low key and don't let the cat out of the bag." Joseph had someone he was sweet on, too. They both knew the score.

Stella asked while sitting in front of her dressing mirror, "What brings you to the set this time?"

"I'm here to see Brittany." Joseph stared at her slender back, his gaze intense, "I really dig her design style."

"Planning on buying Bri-jeweled Studio?"

"Considering it."

Stella frowned, "Remember, Isaac and the Chester family have her back. Don't push your luck."

She knew Brittany. She was an iron fist in a velvet glove.

Bri-jeweled Studio was on a roll. Why would she agree to be bought out?

"You should worry more about yourself," Joseph said seriously, "My parents are getting antsy. We can't postpone the wedding anymore. You better keep your ducks in a row and cut the ties sooner rather than later." After Joseph left, Stella's eyes were full of annoyance.

Thomas barged in. He walked up to her, his gaze heavy, "Didn't you call off the engagement with Joseph?"

She had promised him before.

Caught off guard by the question, Stella got up and walked over to Thomas, looking a bit flustered, "Thomas, don't overthink this. There's nothing between Joseph and me. Even Thomas was incredulous, "So, you're saying you want me to be your secret lover?"

Stella rubbed her temples, "What can I do if my parents don't approve? If I really fall out with Joseph, who's going to foot the bill? Thomas, I really want to be with you, but my parents..."

She had suggested breaking off the engagement, but the stakes were too high for the two families. They couldn't agree. Thomas turned and left.

"Thomas," Stella called out, "Even if I marry Joseph, I won't leave you.

Can't y

you understand?"

"Stella, I've told you. If you get married, we're done."

With that, Thomas strode off.

Stella smacked the dressing table hard, her eyes filled with displeasure.

Brittany overheard Thomas and Stella's quarrel. She was just passing by and didn't expect to hear all that. She hurried away.

Back in the dressing room, her assistant was polishing the jewelry for the shoot.

"Ms. Dustin, you saw Mr. Joseph just now, didn't you? Isn't he a dish

Though not quite on par with Isaac, his charm was out of the ordinary. A real catch.

Brittany nodded, "He's quite a looker."

The assistant said softly, "He and Stella make a good

we get married, it won't affect us."

Brittany thought of her words just now. Stella made it clear she wouldn't'give up on Thomas, but Thomas didn't seem keen on being her sneaky lover. Shaking off her thoughts, Brittany got back to work.

After the shoot, the whole crew headed to a booked restaurant.

As Brittany and her assistant entered, Joseph approached.

Dustin, can we have a chat?" He asked.

""Mr. Josèph, this way please..."

They sat by the window with Stella at the same table.

"Ms. Dustin, I've seen your design drafts before, and I really dig your style. Would you be interested in a collaboration?"

Collaboration?
