Chapter 624

Brittany was a coffee junkie once upon a time.

"Lately, my ticker hasn't been feeling so hot. I've switched to warm milk."

After her big breakup with William, Brittany threw herself into her work. Working late hours, she felt her heart wasn't quite right.

She got it checked out, but it wasn't anything major. However, she definitely needed to take better care of herself.

Kari felt bad for her, "Brittany, should I come back and help? You've been working your tail off lately."

"Sure, take some more time off."

Kari coming back would indeed be a big help.

The two of them chatted while drinking. Brittany didn't talk about work. Instead, she asked about Kari and Nathan.

From Kari's story, Brittany found out that during her vacation, Kari's mom had fallen ill. Nathan found the best doctor for her, and she was then gradually getting better after surgery. "Kari, why didn't you tell me something this big happened?"

"Brittany, everything happened so suddenly, and you've been going through a rough patch. I didn't want to pile on." Kari knew exactly what Brittany had been dealing with. News about Brittany and William's breakup had spread like wildfire.

The Dillion family was actively looking for a new partner for William. How could she not know while living in Imperial City?

Brittany blamed herself, "Kari, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you."

"Brittany, it's not your fault."

Kari shook her head, "My mom's condition is stable now. There's no need for you to worry."

At six in the evening, Nathan came to pick up Kari.

Kari went to the bathroom.

Brittany said to Nathan, "Nathan, thank you for helping Kari's mom."

"Ms. Dustin, it was the least I could do." Nathan knew Brittany and Kari were close. He was very polite, "No need to thank me."

"Kari told me you two are together now." Brittany got up, looking sincere, and said, "Kari is a great girl. I hope you two will be happy." Nathan smiled, "I will take good care of Kari."

When Kari returned from the bathroom, Nathan took her hand and said goodbye to Brittany.

Seeing their smiling faces, Brittany knew they were truly in love.

For a moment, she felt dazed. It had been years since she had genuinely liked someone.

Even with Isaac, their relationship was built on lies.

Brittany shook off her thoughts, paid the bill, and was about to leave.

"Brittany."

Joie appeared out of nowhere. "Can we talk?"

Joie never thought she would see Brittany at Radiant Residences again. Didn't she always say she hated Isaac? Why did she run to him after the Dillion family kicked her out? Brittany immediately said, "I don't think we have anything to talk about."

"So, you broke up with William, and now you're chasing after Bro Isaac, is that it?"

Brittany found her words distasteful, and what was more laughable was that she had no right to question her. Brittany, in return, asked, "Joie, who are you to question me?" "You're done with Bro Isaac. How can you be so shameless?"

"Even if we're done, we still have a child together. Who are you to question me?"

Brittany laughed lightly, "Don't forget what you have now is all gained through shady means. Just a word from me, and everything you own will vanish into thin air!" Thinking of her hidden secret, Joie's face turned pale instantly.

Brittany ignored Joie and left directly.

Joie stood still for a moment, then someone gently patted her back, "Ms. Joie, do you have time to chat?"

Hearing the voice, Joie's face turned pale again.

That voice!

Was it Leda's?
