Chapter 631

Brittany got back to her room and shot Daniel a message, "Honey, I just clocked off work. Now I can come and help you get to sleep."

In a few minutes, Daniel video-called her back. He appeared to have just finished dinner. His cheeks were rosy and his eyes were full of joy. "Mum, I miss you so much."

"Do you miss me?"

Brittany laughed, "Of course I do. I have to stay here for a few more days. Once I wrap things up, I'll pick you up straight away, alright?"

Daniel was propped up against his bed, hugging a dinosaur toy. He must have been a big fan of dinosaurs, judging from the dinosaur patterns on most of his pajamas and toys. They had a great time chatting. Daniel was such a sweet talker, and Brittany was grinning ear to ear.

Emily came to tuck Daniel in midway. After hearing Emily's voice, Brittany said, "Daniel, sleep tight. See you tomorrow."

Daniel wanted to say something else.

The sound of a car engine came from outside. Isaac was back.

Daniel quickly said, "Night, Mum." and hung up.

After the call, Daniel slipped on his slippers and ran downstairs. Emily called after him, "Daniel Salter, slow down!"

"Granny Emily, I'm going to meet dad. No need to tag along."

Saying so, Daniel dashed downstairs.

Hearing Daniel's footsteps, Emily stopped in her tracks.

Isaac got out of the car and saw Daniel in his pajamas rushing toward him. He frowned, "What happened?"

Standing in front of Isaac, Daniel said, "Dad, can you take me to mum?"

He missed his mum so badly that he couldn't wait any longer.

Isaac dismissed it, "Your mum's on a business trip. She'll be back in a week."

He walked into the house.

Daniel followed him, "But I miss her."

Isaac changed into his slippers, took off his coat, and looked at Daniel, "You're six now. Stop always calling for mum."

Brittany was never around where Daniel was.

He didn't even get a chance to talk to her up close.

Daniel held onto his dinosaur toy, his eyes shining, "Dad, don't you want to see Mum?"

"Mum doesn't want to see me." He was clear about his situation.

How could Brittany, who wanted nothing more than to cut ties with him, wish to see him?

Daniel looked at him reproachfully and asked, "Dad, are you going to be like this forever? I want a sister. You need to pull yourself together. Otherwise, there might be a generation gap between me and my sister." Isaac was a bit annoyed, "Even if I go, I won't bring you along."

"But I can help."

Daniel grinned, "Dad, don't you need me to smooth things over with Mum?"

Isaac looked at his clever son. There was a hint of doubt in his eyes, "You sure?" "Yes, dad. Just take me with you."

Daniel clung to Isaac's arm and said, "I miss Mum so much. I really miss her."

Isaac sighed, "Then go to bed now, or I won't take you."

"You must keep your word, dad."

Daniel let out a cheer of excitement, then dashed upstairs. He was fast asleep in his bed before Emily had a chance to tuck him in.

After Daniel was asleep, Emily went downstairs.

"Mr. Salter, are you really going to see Ms. Dustin?" Emily smelled the alcohol on Isaac. She went to the kitchen and made him a cup of honey water, placing it in front of him.

Isaac loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt, "We're leaving tomorrow morning.".

He hadn't been to H city for many years.

That time, when Brittany went to H city alone, he wanted to go with her.

Emily knew Isaac had been waiting for Brittany for years. Since Brittany had finally broken up with William, how could he have given up so easily?

"MA Salter, Ms. Dustin might not have forgotten what happened five years ago. You need to be patient and make amends.*
