Chapter 654

Brittany lost interest in washing the dishes. "Mr. Salter, are we going to try and hash out the past five years?"

Isaac felt her resistance, and guilt washed over him.

"I just wanted to apologize."

Brittany pushed him aside. "Your apology means nothing."

"Mr. Salter, since you love being in the kitchen, knock yourself out with the dishes." Brittany washed her hands, sidestepped Isaac, and went upstairs.

Back in her room, she took her laptop out of her suitcase, then her phone, and dialed a string of numbers. "Hello?"

""Ms. Dustin."

"I've recently moved to Radiant Residences."

The voice on the other end was low. "I've looked into Joseph. Are you sure you still won't agree to the buyout?"

Joseph had ties to the underworld. If they pissed them off, they'd be a tough nut to crack.

""No deal."

Brittany hung up, opened her laptop, and had a video conference with employees of Bri-jeweled Studio. By the time the meeting was over, i was already 10 p.m. She'd been hustling all day, and now she was beat. But she hadn't even freshened up yet.

Brittany mustered the strength to take a shower. When she got out, she got a call from Hannah. "Bri, I heard you're in hot water. Are you okay?" "They came when I wasn't home. I'm safe."

Brittany pulled back the covers and got in bed. "I've moved to Radiant Residences."

Hannah took a deep breath. "So you and Isaac made up?"

"No. Daniel's safer here." She was concerned that Joseph might do something drastic. If he hurt Daniel, it would be a blow she couldn't recover from. Hannah never thought Joseph would stoop so low and resort to such tactics. He was nothing short of a thief!

"So you're planning to stay at Radiant Residences for good?"

"Just for now."

Brittany's plan was to move out once Joseph left.

Hannah and Brittany talked for over half an hour. Tanya's voice could be heard on the other end, probably urging Hannah to get some shut-eye. "You go to bed." Brittany hung up, checked on Daniel, and then went back to her room.

In the third floor study.

After cleaning up the kitchen and giving Daniel a bath, Isaac finally went upstairs.

Nathan had looked into Joseph's background. He was the type to stop at nothing to get what he wanted.

Brittany's repeated rejections had clearly ticked Joseph off.

"Mr. Salter, Ms. Dustin is no match for Joseph; I'm afraid she can't hold her own against him." Nathan thought Brittany was out of her depth.

"Keep tabs on Joseph behind the scenes; don't let him do anything rash."

*Also, have someone keep an eye on Daniel around the clock; don't give them an opportunity."

After hanging up, Isaac got a call from Grace. "I heard you've moved back to Radiant Residences with Bri."

"Did Emily tell you?"

"There are so many people in the villa district; you think you could pull a fast one on me?" Grace was somewhat impatient. Brittany moving back was good news, but he'd kept her in the dark. "We haven't made up yet; that's why I didn't tell you."

Grace knew Brittany was holding a grudge, but she really wanted to see Brittany and Daniel.

"I'll come over sometime; give her a heads-up."

After hanging up, Grace was relieved. Brittany's decision to temporarily move back to Radiant Residences was a good start.

Upon hearing Grace's conversation with Isaac, Jole unconsciously clenched her lips. She remembered what Leda had once said, causing a cold glint to flash in her eyes.

Brittany wanted to make up with Isaac?

In her dreams!
