Chapter 656

Brittany headed back to her office and started working on her design sketches.

Kari wanted to give her a hand, but Tina stopped her, "Don't you dare disturb Ms. Dustin right now. She needs to concentrate."

Knowing Tina always had a knack for handling things, Kari simply nodded and said, "Alright."

Brittany stared at the blank page for a few hours before she started sketching.

By the time Isaac arrived at the studio, everyone else had already left.

Over the years, the studio had grown several times over from the little shop it once was and had then become a well-known jewelry design studio in Imperial City.

He climbed the stairs and pushed open the door to Brittany's office. She was there with her hair pulled back, black-rimmed glasses on, and a pencil in her hand, completely absorbed in her sketching. Isaac paused.

He leaned against the door, staring at Brittany. Flashes of the events five years prior were running through his mind.

She was just starting her business then, sketching round the clock, often napping on the coffee table.

Whenever she was totally beat, she'd just crash right there on the table.

Brittany didn't even notice Isaac's arrival, still engrossed in her sketching.

After over an hour, Isaac walked into the office and tapped on the desk, "Time to call it a day."

Brittany jumped, looking up to see that it was Isaac. She breathed a sigh of relief, then frowned, "What are you doing here?"

"It's nearly two."

Isaac pointed to the clock behind her and said, "You should go home."

Only then did Brittany realize she had been pulling an all-nighter. She put down her pencil and stretched her stiff body, "You came to pick me up?" "Yeah, let's go."

Brittany took off her glasses, her normally bright eyes filled with exhaustion. She rubbed her forehead, "You go ahead, I'll crash here tonight. I'm swamped recently." "What about Daniel missing you at home?" Isaac had always disapproved of Brittany neglecting her health for work.

Thinking of her son at home, Brittany sighed and grabbed her coat, "Let's go."

She had been sitting for too long, and her body felt stiff and weak.

She hadn't walked far before she started to feel uncomfortable.

Isaac noticed her discomfort and quickly moved to support her, "Why did you take Joseph's order?"

"He's a handful. If I turned him down, he might do something rash."

Brittany didn't feel like explaining to Isaac.

Isaac picked her up, and Brittany let out a small gasp, trying to struggle, but he smacked her on the butt, "Stay still." Brittany froze instantly. She rarely got spanked.

And almost every time it happened, it was Isaac who did it!

Isaac carried her down the stairs and put her in the car. Brittany couldn't resist, "The studio's doors and windows." "I'll get someone to close them."

Getting in the car, Isaac gestured for Brittany to buckle up.

She sighed, buckled up, and rolled down the window.

On the way home, Brittany didn't say a word, leaning back against the leather seat, drifting in and out of sleep.

Arriving at Radiant Residences, Isaac looked at the already-sleeping Brittany. He carefully parked the car, unbuckled her seat belt, and carried her out. Emily saw them coming back and was about to say hi.

Isaac stopped Emily and carried Brittany upstairs.

After settling Brittany in, Isaac left.

For the next two days, Brittany threw herself into her work, and Daniel, probably after a talk from Isaac, behaved exceptionally well.

However, Joseph kept rejecting the design drafts, which wasn't surprising.

He kept refusing.

Anyone with half a brain could tell he was doing it on purpose, but Brittany couldn't afford to lose her cool.

After being rejected once again, Brittany left Joseph's house and ran smack-dab into Stella.
