Chapter 771

For years, Isaac had been living a life that felt like he was neither living nor dead.

If they could truly reconcile, it would signify the end of a long, painful journey.

Brittany nodded, "Yes."

Grace sighed in relief, "That's good. Going forward, it's important for both of you to stick together, no more squabbles."

Grace had always felt guilty for Brittany, so seeing them reconcile was like a load off her mind.

"Let's go, it's about time for dinner."

Grace's authority in the Salter family was still unchallenged.

Even Leda and her son didn't dare to oppose her lightly, let alone the other members of the family.

Grace sat at the head of the table, with Isaac by her side, and Brittany next to him.

"How did Ms. Dustin and Zac patch up?"

Carla's mother, Hazel, quipped, "Just a while ago, they were at each other's throats, and now, they're head over heels in love."

"Hazel, instead of poking your nose into my business, why don't you focus on Carla's marriage?"

Brittany had no fondness for the Salter family, and her feelings towards Hazel were even less favorable. She picked up her cup and inquired, "I heard that they are discussing a divorce, is it settled?" "Brittany, shut up!" Carla was furious.

William suggested a divorce, a proposition she rejected. William had even contemplated pursuing legal measures.

She didn't dare to tell her parents about this, but Brittany had just exposed it in public.

"You and William are getting a divorce, Carla?" Hazel was stunned, "Was it his idea?"

Carla's face turned pale, "Yes."

"What is William thinking? He was the one who wronged you in the first place, and now that he has overcome his crisis, he wants to abandon you?"

Hazel was so angry that her face turned blue, "Summon William immediately. I want to see him."

Carla wished she could summon William, but unfortunately, he had already signed the divorce papers and blocked her contact.

Brittany found the whole situation amusing.

Isaac served Brittany a piece of rib, "Try this."

Brittany took a bite of the rib. It was tender and flavorful, with a sweet and sour taste, accompanied by a hint of plum aroma.

"It's delicious."

The cooks in the Salter Manor were truly skilled.

Hazel, not wanting to be outdone by Brittany, was about to make another sarcastic remark when Isaac shot her a cold glance, "Hazel, if William is seeking a divorce, why not agree? Stirring up the past will only lead to embarrassment for everyone involved." Hazel was silenced.

Carla felt as if she had been slapped in the face and was left speechless.

Leda didn't expect Brittany and Isaac to reconcile. Pouring herself a cup of water, she said, "Ms. Dustin, I'm sorry for any past offenses. We're family now, so let's look out for each other."

Hearing this, Brittany unconsciously clenched her fist. If not for Grace, she wouldn't even sit at the same table with Leda.

"Leda, I'm not sure if we can be considered family."

Brittany smiled faintly, "We'll be seeing each other quite often. The things between us, let's take our time to settle them."

Leda's face turned sour, she huffed, and said no more.

The entire meal was rather uncomfortable.

After having their fill, Leda and her son left.

Brittany followed Grace upstairs.

Carla stopped Isaac, "Zac, can you help me?"

She didn't want a divorce.

"Help you with what?"

Isaac couldn't understand why Carla was so adamant about William. Despite knowing that William didn't love her, she insisted on clinging to the relationship.

"I don't want a divorce." Carla was desperate, "Zac, can you help me?"

If Isaac was willing to help, she was sure that William would change his mind.
