Brittany escorted Daniel out of the diner and back to the hotel.

She was restless all night long, terrified she'd wake up to news of a tourist's murder.

At the crack of dawn, Brittany shockingly realized she was fretting over a man she'd only met a few times, a man who even had a family!

This can't be happening!

Shaking off her thoughts, Brittany packed her bags and left the resort with Daniel, heading back to Craneville.

Brittany dove headfirst into her work, yet Isaac crept into her thoughts now and then. She couldn't bear the thought of falling for a married man. After much pondering, she sought out Yuri. "Dad, didn't you mention you wanted me to settle down soon?"

Yuri, thinking Brittany was still upset about the past, quickly said, "Bri, Dad didn't mean it like that. If you don't want to get married, I won't ask again. Just focus on your work." "Dad."

Brittany shook her head, her eyes brimming with sincerity. "I've thought it over for a long time. I'm not getting any younger; maybe it's time to meet some good men you approve of." Yuri was stunned. "Are you sure?"

He was genuinely surprised that Brittany would initiate the idea of blind dating.

"Yes." Brittany figured her infatuation with Isaac was due to her prolonged single status. Maybe meeting new people would help fade those feelings.

Yuri was overjoyed. "Okay, I will make sure to pick carefully this time. There won't be a repeat of last time."

Seeing the joy in Yuri's eyes, Brittany was torn between right and wrong.

Yuri acted swiftly, filtering through several eligible bachelors around thirty in less than a week. Whether was their background, abilities, looks, or character, each was top-notch. Yuri, cautious of

repeating past mistakes, personally

vetted each one.

Among them, Craneville's rising star from the Blackwood family, Willard Blackwood, was his favorite. After reviewing all the candidates, Brittany chose Willard.

The Blackwood family rose to

prominence in finance over the last

twenty years. Willard, having studied abroad and made a name for

himself on Wall Street, took over the family business upon his return to Craneville. Within months, he

secured significant deals, earning widespread acclaim.

Not only was Willard talented, but he was also famously indifferent to romance. For over thirty years, no woman had been linked to him. Those who knew him only had praise to share.

Determined to go through with the

blind date, Brittany quickly arranged

ет

to meet Willard. On the day, after closing a big deal, Brittany realized she was running late. She hurried to the restaurant, replaceing Willard already there.

Pushing open the private dining room door, she apologized, "Sorry, work held me up a bit. Did you wait long?"

Willard stood up, pulling out a chair for her. "No problem, please take a seat."

Feeling a bit guilty, Brittany asked, "How long have you been waiting?"

"Just got here."

Willard had actually been waiting for over half an hour. He handed her the menu, "What would you like to drink, Ms. Lynette?"

"I'll take a look."

It was Brittany's first formal blind date, and she felt a bit awkward. Noticing her discomfort, Willard smiled, "Actually, I've known you for a while, Ms. Lynette." "Is that so?"

Brittany was surprised. She hadn't met Willard before.

"Yes, back when I was working on Wall Street, I dealt with Randell professionally."

"You know my brother?" Brittany was taken aback, but then it made sense. Randell Moore was a big name on Wall Street, and Willard was a force to be reckoned with too.
