Brittany frowned, "Do you think I'm your maid?"

All the hugging was one thing, but taking orders was a step too far!

Isaac gently took her hand, placing it against his temples. "You did it once before, and you were really good at it."

A shiver ran down Brittany's spine.

When had she ever learned to give a massage?

Isaac's brows furrowed, clearly in a lot of discomfort.

Elijah wasn't much of a drinker, so most of the evening's indulgences fell to Isaac, who now felt his stomach cramping up in rebellion, the pain too sharp to ignore.

Brittany, looking at his pained expression, found her fingers moving almost on their own accord.

She had never learned massage techniques.

Yet, her hands seemed to know exactly what to do, easing his discomfort bit by bit.

His face gradually relaxed.

His breathing steadied.

For a moment, Brittany saw Isaac's face blend with the one in her memories, even though they didn't look alike.

Isaac was all cold elegance, every movement a study in grace.

Caspian, though equally handsome, was a different kind of attractive like a beast clawing its way out of the depths, his presence was compelling, every inch of him radiated dominance. Brittany couldn't help but chuckle at the thought. How could they ever be the same person?

After about half an hour, her hands ached with the effort.

Isaac, sensing her fatigue, held her hands, gently caressing her fingertips, "Thank you, I feel much better."

Brittany tried to pull away, "Let go."

Isaac, seizing the opportunity, wasn't ready to give up.

"Saskia hasn't been bothering you, has she?"

At that, Brittany realized he was the mysterious helper. "Did you replace those files?"

Why else would he know about it and even go as far as to help?

"Who else would help you but me?"

Brittany paused, "Thank you for your help."

"Then, Ms. Lynette, won't you thank me properly?" Isaac suddenly said, "How about making me a meal?" Brittany was speechless.

Before she could respond, Isaac had his phone out, dialing, "Come back, we're heading home."

Minutes later, Nathan returned to the car and drove straight to Isaac's residence.

Brittany was stunned, "I don't remember agreeing to this "

Isaac, still feeling under the weather, pleaded, "Ms. Lynette, be kind. I'm practically an invalid. How about making me a meal?"

Brittany's refusal got stuck in her throat, her willingness to agree surprising even herself.

But then she remembered, she couldn't cook to save her life.

After a moment, she stiffly said, "I've never cooked before, so you'll have to eat it, good or bad!"

Isaac, comforted by her presence, closed his eyes, his long lashes casting shadows that seemed to weave a web around Brittany's gaze.

It was Brittany's first visit to his place.

Opening the door, everything felt strangely familiar yet completely new.

It was as if she'd seen it countless times before, yet Brittany was sure she had never been here.

Isaac, clearly still feeling sick, shed his coat, his eyes red, "There's food in the kitchen, do whatever you like."

He was barely walking straight.

Brittany instinctively wanted to support him.

"No need, I'll just lie down for a bit."

Isaac stumbled into the living room, collapsing onto the couch, his usual strong demeanor seeming to crumble in an instant.

Brittany stood still, feeling a bit awkward.

But then she thought, Caspian helped her, so making him a meal as thanks wasn't too much to ask.

She opened a cupboard, replaceing a brand-new pair of slippers.

There were three pairs in the shoe cabinet: blue, pink, and a fluffy pair adorned with a familiar pattern, though she couldn't quite place where she'd seen it before. Slipping into the new slippers, she headed into the kitchen.

The large kitchen was immaculate, all the appliances and utensils looked untouched.

It was clear he rarely cooked.
