How the Donahue family had treated the Ulbricht family, Elijah was now exacting his revenge in kind.

Three years ago, she stood by, doing nothing. Even when Elijah reached out for help, she decisively ended the call...

The same scene, the same feelings. Octavia realized, with a sinking heart, that Elijah's revenge had been successful this time. Even more devastating than what had happened three years prior.

Time seemed to stand still until someone snapped her back to reality.

"Ms. Donahue, this is the acquisition contract."

Octavia numbly took the document, flipping to the last page. Her hand trembling, she signed her name. As she put down the pen, she looked up at the messenger: "How has Elijah been these past three years?"

The man looked at her as if she were a joke: "Ms. Donahue, whether Mr. Ulbricht had a good or bad time over the past three years, you'll soon replace out."

Bankruptcy. Her fiancé, quick to distance himself at the first sign of trouble, and her family's empire swallowed up...

Was this life any better?

Watching his retreating back, Octavia's legs gave out, and she crumpled to the floor, speechless.

The Donahue family's empire was acquired by Elijah in just a short month, and the company was transformed into a part of the Ulbricht family's holdings.

Elijah rose from the ashes, and those who had once bullied them changed their tune, acting subservient in his presence.

In his youth, Elijah had been lost in such meaningless social circles, but having experienced such highs and lows, he had grown to despise them. But the invitations kept coming.

After much thought, Elijah accepted a group's invitation.

Upon arriving at the bar, a crowd surged around him, offering warm greetings as if they hadn't been the ones to kick him when he was down.

In the private room, he saw Seraphina.

With the Donahue family's downfall, Seraphina had lost her support and, unable to curb her extravagant spending habits, had burned through her savings and started dating a wealthy suitor. Gone was the goddess, replaced by a gold-digger. Seraphina, usually dressed in innocence, was tonight clad in a slinky, black slip dress, accentuating her figure with added allure. Her wealthy suitor, arm around her waist, couldn't keep his hands still.

Seraphina appeared composed, but her eyes betrayed her humiliation.

Upon seeing Elijah, her eyes lit up, then dimmed as she remembered the Donahue family's bankruptcy was due to Elijah, and she dared not speak.

"Seraphina, aren't you and Mr. Ulbricht old acquaintances? Why not say hello?" her suitor suggested, his tone suggestive.

Holding her drink, Seraphina said: "Elijah."

Elijah, overwhelmed by her perfume, stepped back: "Get lost!"

Seraphina's face fell.

"Seraphina, it seems Mr. Ulbricht isn't very fond of you," her suitor remarked, displeased.

He had truly liked Seraphina, with genuine affection. But Seraphina had looked down on him, constantly nitpicking. Now, without any support, she was with him purely for the money.

He had thought Seraphina was different from those materialistic women, but now, he saw they were the same.

Frozen, Seraphina's hand holding the drink stiffened, tears welling up: "Mr. Ulbricht."

She bore a striking resemblance to Octavia.

Elijah had once treated her like a sister, but sadly, the Donahue family had shown their true colors, leaving him no reason to show mercy.

He took a sip of his drink, scanning the room, and finally spoke: "Don't invite me to these things anymore. What happened over the past three years won't be forgotten over a drink." Elijah set down his glass: "I'm one to hold a grudge."

Silence fell over the room.

They had seen the fate of the Donahue family and were eager to curry favor with Elijah, hoping he'd forsake his vengeance.

But Elijah wasn't swayed.

Rising, he strode out of the room.
