Queen's decision was set in stone, and even Yuri couldn't sway her.

Brittany knew Yuri had done all he could. Despite his influence and power, he couldn't stand against the Queen's command.

What she hadn't expected was for the royal family to solidify Craneville's situation in such a manner.

Within days, the news of Brittany's impending royal marriage had spread.

Ysabel was the first to call her: "Bri, is the rumor true? Are you really getting married to Duke Eltham?"

Brittany was overwhelmed by the situation: "Looks like it."

Ysabel frowned: "Bri, have you thought this through? Once you marry into the royal family, you're going to be stuck in Craneville forever."

Not to mention leaving, even stepping out of the royal estate seemed like a distant dream.

"The Queen insists, and I'm out of options."

Brittany felt helpless.

Ysabel paused: "I've met Duke Eltham before. He's indeed a great man, but sadly, not the right one for you."

After a brief chat with Ysabel, Brittany simply turned off her phone, longing for some peace.

Meanwhile,

The news of the marriage had Elijah restless.

"Brittany?"

"Yes, it seems the Queen insisted, and the Lynette family had to agree."

Or rather, the Lynette family had no choice but to agree.

In Craneville, the royal family held unrivaled power; who would dare to oppose them?

Elijah never imagined that the royal family would take an interest in Brittany...

"What did Brittany say?"

"It's said that Mr. Lynette met with the Queen, and after that meeting, the marriage was settled."

His confidant frowned: "If this marriage goes through, then the Lynette family will become a pawn for the royal family, at their beck and call."

Previously, the royal family used Ivy to control the Hartman family, and now they plan on using Duke Eltham to rein in the Lynette family.

Brittany was Yuri's only daughter. Once she married into the royal family, the Lynette family's assets would essentially belong to the royals, including the inheritance left to Brittany by Isaac... Moreover, with the Lynette family and the royal family joining forces, the future of Craneville would nearly be in their hands.

Elijah hadn't anticipated the situation escalating to this level and shook his head: "Pass this information to Isaac, the more detailed, the better."

His confidant nodded.

Upon hearing the news, Isaac immediately rushed to Pathway Estate.

Brittany, feeling down, was resting in her room. Hearing footsteps, she instinctively opened her eyes wide-

"Bri!"

Isaac quickly approached, and Brittany hugged him tightly: "What are you doing here?"

Isaac, catching her scent, looked down: "If I didn't come now, you'd be whisked away by the royal family."

Brittany knew she couldn't hide the truth any longer and let go: "This marriage isn't what you think-"

"I've already heard. The royal family is adamant."

Isaac didn't blame Brittany; he blamed fate.

"I don't like Duke Eltham."

Brittany was afraid he'd misunderstand.

Isaac held her hand and kissed her palm gently: "I know."

Who Brittany liked was crystal clear to him.

Brittany didn't want to marry Duke Eltham, but she couldn't change the royal family's mind.

Just as she was about to speak-

"Bri." The door knock came from Yuri: "The guards mentioned there's been noise coming from your room lately. Are you alright?"

Brittany shivered and instinctively glanced at Isaac.

Isaac shook his head, signaling her not to panic.

"Dad, I'm fine, really fine."

Brittany got out of bed, and Isaac quickly hid in the wardrobe.

She opened the door, facing Yuri: "Dad, the guards must have been mistaken."

"That's good to hear."

Yuri didn't press further: "Get ready in the afternoon. Duke Eltham wants to meet you."
