Isaac hadn't expected Yuri to accept him so easily. He gently caressed Brittany's cheek, "Alright."
In Brittany's closet, there was a set of brand-new clothes waiting for Isaac.
They fit him perfectly.
When they descended the stairs, all the servants of the Lynette household were on their day off.
Only Yuri and Daniel were present.
Daniel was sipping on his milk when he saw Isaac come down. His eyes widened in surprise: "Daddy!"
It had been a while since Isaac and Daniel had formally seen each other. As their eyes met, Daniel, remembering a past misunderstanding, instinctively thought to run away. But Isaac quickly called out, "Where do you think you're going?"
Though Daniel had grown quite a bit, he still seemed powerless in front of Isaac, his legs weakly dangling: "Daddy, I'm sorry, I won't do it again!"
"Grandpa, save me, please—"
Daniel clung to Yuri's legs, his eyes brimming with tears.
Yuri's face was stern: "Let's eat."
Isaac let go of Daniel and approached Yuri, respectfully calling him "Dad."
Yuri snorted, "Seeing you call me 'Dad' with that face, I'm still not used to it."
Worried they might start arguing, Brittany quickly stepped forward and poured Yuri a glass of milk: "Dad, have some milk."
Yuri: ...
His daughter's loyalties seemed misplaced!
He took the milk, signaling Isaac to sit down with a lukewarm gesture.
It was a long-awaited family gathering.
Isaac pulled out a chair for Brittany, and she sat down.
He then sat on the opposite side, serving her porridge, a gesture so natural as if feeding her.
Brittany had long been accustomed to his care.
But in front of her father and son, she felt a bit embarrassed, quietly tugging at his hand: "I can do it myself."
Her father's mood seemed to darken.
She wasn't sure what might happen if this kept up.
Isaac was unfazed: "Eat before it gets cold; it's not good for the stomach."
Brittany felt helpless.
Yuri frowned, not pleased with the morning's affectionate display.
Although such scenes were not new, he and Brittany hadn't shared such a close father-daughter relationship before. Previously, there were barriers.
Now, with no barriers between them, watching another man doting on his daughter so attentively brought him mixed feelings of happiness and discomfort.
After Daniel had his fill and packed his little backpack for school, only the three adults remained. Yuri put on airs: "When do you plan to make your identity public?" "Soon."
Isaac took a napkin, wiping his fingers.
Yuri knew of his capabilities, but without the backing of the Salter family, how could he stand against the royal household?
He sighed, "When Bri got into trouble and lost her memory, I hoped she'd forget you. But somehow, it all comes back to you."
If he had known it would come to this, why go through the trouble of setting up Bri-jeweled Studio?
Isaac understood Yuri's dislike for him and knew his acceptance was solely for Brittany's sake.
"Dad, both you and I want what's best for Bri. I hope you can give me some time. I'll ensure she comes out of this unscathed." "Once it's all over, you can punish me however you see fit."
"No way."
Brittany shook her head vigorously.
Yuri: ......
