Brittany was laughing so hard she could barely breathe, nestled comfortably in Isaac's arms. Isaac gently set her down on the couch and headed into the kitchen to whip up some dinner.
As Brittany's laughter subsided, she lay on the couch, watching him move around the kitchen. It had been ages since he last decided to play chef. A pang of longing hit her, watching him.
She got up, walked over to Isaac, and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "When can we go back to New York?"
"Soon," Isaac assured her, his hands busy with the cooking.
"That's good to hear."
Brittany missed everything about New York.
Isaac squeezed her hand gently. "It's hot in here."
"It's okay. I just want to be with you," Brittany insisted.
Isaac smiled, enjoying her company. "Alright then."
He decided to make her favorite, mini raviolis, fresh out of the pot with seaweed and shrimp for an explosion of flavor.
Brittany devoured two bowls before reluctantly setting her fork down. "Yours are always the best."
Isaac raised an eyebrow. "Naturally."
After they were both stuffed, Isaac scooped Brittany up and carried her back to their room.
Brittany's belly was visibly growing now.
Isaac retrieved the essential oils they used during her previous pregnancy with Daniel, and started massaging her belly. "Remember when you were pregnant with Daniel? I would apply this oil every night." Thanks to good genetics and proper care, Brittany's skin remained smooth and scar-free after Daniel's birth.
Isaac cherished every moment.
Leaning against the headboard, Brittany suggested, "You should do this every night."
She couldn't be bothered to do it herself.
Isaac happily agreed.
After applying the oil and helping her remove her makeup, Isaac tucked Brittany into bed. "Time to sleep." Brittany didn't want him to go. "Are you leaving again?"
"When will I see you next?"
Isaac smirked, "Missing me?"
No matter how great Eltham was, he knew he was the only one in her eyes.
"Yes. I don't want you to go," Brittany admitted directly.
Isaac leaned in for a kiss. "I'm not going anywhere."
"What?"

Grabbing his pajamas, Isaac headed to the bathroom, while Brittany lay in bed, video calling Daniel.
He picked up almost immediately. "Mom!"
Daniel, back in New York, sounded thrilled. "I miss you so much."
Brittany reached out towards the screen, wishing she could touch his face. "Are you doing okay?"
"I'm great. I'm back at school, and everyone missed me. Plus, Abby brings me cupcakes every day!" His eyes sparkled. "She made them herself."
"Where's Abby?"
"Right here."
Daniel turned the tablet towards Abby.
"Hi, Aunt Bri." Abby was sweet as pie.
Even through the screen, Brittany could feel her warmth. "Sweetie, I miss you too."
Abby blushed. "Me too."
Daniel, feeling jealous, interjected. "No, Abby can only miss me!"
He was determined to marry Abby when they grew up.
"Mom, I told Abby I would marry her when we're older and have lots of kids. I'll take care of her forever!"

Wesley, who had come to pick up his daughter, could only shake his head in disbelief.
