Chapter 607
"Daniel, what brings you here?"
Brittany stared blankly at Daniel, who had suddenly appeared in her arms, feeling a bit bewildered.
Daniel clung to her neck. "Dad brought me here."
It was then that Brittany noticed that Isaac was standing at the door and instinctively frowned.
"What are you doing bringing him here?"
Isaac knew she had broken up with William, so she must have been in a bad mood. He pushed the suitcase towards her. "You wanted to spend more time with Daniel, right? He'll stay with you for a while." "Are you willing to give up custody?"
Brittany couldn't believe it. If that were the case, it would save her a lot of trouble.
"Of course not."
Isaac denied Brittany's speculation. "He's a Salter family kid, and you're his mother. I won't stand in the way of you two being together, but you taking him away will not happen."
Brittany knew Isaac wouldn't let go easily. He left with just a goodbye.
Daniel noticed Brittany's teary eyes and became concerned. "Mom, what's wrong? Did you cry?"
Brittany put him down and held his hand, her voice hoarse. "I'm not feeling very well right now, so I can't tell you a story. I'll tell you one tomorrow night, okay?"
Daniel wasn't a fool. He could tell Brittany wasn't in a good mood, and the fact that William was no longer around crossed his mind. He pursed his little lips and held Brittany's hand. "Mom, I'm a good boy. I don't need a story to fall asleep. You rest well."
He hesitated for a moment and scooted over a bit. "How about I sleep with you?"
Brittany was indeed very tired.
She collapsed onto the bed, and Daniel immediately tucked her in and gently patted her back. He performed these actions smoothly and naturally, as if he had done them countless times before. -Brittany caught a whiff of the milky scent on Daniel and involuntarily relaxed. She fell asleep shortly after.
Daniel waited until she was asleep and then closed his eyes, carefully lying down beside her to keep her company.
Brittany left the Dillion family.
Timothy came out and returned William's phone to him, saying in a deep voice, "At this point, you and Brittany have no future. Don't think about it anymore."
William took his phone and went back to his room.
Timothy was still a bit worried, but he didn't want to worry too much about it.
In the middle of the night, Mrs. Dillion smelled alcohol and felt like something was wrong.
She pushed the door open and screamed.
Timothy rushed over.
William was lying on the carpet, holding a bottle of liquor. His handsome face was flushed, and he looked disheveled.
He had not consumed anything during the days he was confined.
He had lost a lot of weight, and his eyes were now marked with dark circles. After drinking hard liquor, blood began to trickle from the corner of his mouth, and a puddle of alcohol pooled beneath him. Mrs. Dillion was pale with fear, and her legs trembled uncontrollably.
In his panic, Timothy still retained some sanity and called for servants to rush William to the hospital.
"What? Gastrointestinal bleeding?"
After hearing the doctor's diagnosis, Timothy became extremely angry. "Whether my son is bleeding or not, you must ensure his safety!" William was his only son, and he couldn't bear to let him die in the hospital.
The doctors exchanged glances and, after a moment, explained the situation further. "William is not in a life-threatening condition; he just needs proper rest, and he absolutely must not drink alcohol in the future."
Timothy hadn't expected that William, who was usually uninterested in smoking or drinking, would end up with gastrointestinal bleeding because of his sorrow after losing Brittany.
Mrs. Dillion had been crying bitterly.
The Dillion family members all had a sleepless night.
Early the next morning, Olivia angrily left the hospital and went straight to Brittany's house.
Brittany, what a troublemaker!
