Chapter 634

"Alright then."

Brittany found herself a quiet spot with her glass of champagne. She wasn't too familiar with the power dynamics of H city, nor did she have much inclination to socialize.

She comfortably settled into a leather couch. Her clean, slender fingers wrapped around her glass.

Leo was busy mingling and soon disappeared into the crowd.

After a few sips of champagne, Brittany began to feel a little woozy.

She put down her glass and headed for the restroom.

As she stepped into the restroom, her phone started ringing. It was a call from Isaac.

Brittany frowned. Why on earth was he calling?

She hung up without answering and went into a stall.

Isaac didn't give up after being hung up on. He made several more calls, annoying Brittany to no end. Finally, she reluctantly answered, "Mr. Salter, what's up?" "Where are you?" Isaac's voice was cold. He had never imagined Brittany would attract attention while on a business trip.

Brittany bristled at his questioning tone. "What's it to you where I am?"

What right did he have to question her whereabouts?

Isaac noticed her sharp tone and took a deep breath, pausing for a moment, "Sorry, I was a bit too pushy. Daniel said he missed you. That's why I called."

Brittany remembered she had an auction to attend that night and might not have time for Daniel.

"I have an auction tonight and might not be able to spend time with him. Can you explain that to him?"

An auction!

Isaac immediately gestured to Nathan to replace out exactly where Brittany was.

"I'm hanging up now." Brittany ended the call. After resting in the restroom for half an hour, she returned to the banquet.

At the hotel.

Nathan quickly found out Brittany's location and managed to snag an invitation within ten minutes.

Isaac, dressed in a dark suit, was ready to set off.

"Dad, where are you going?" Daniel emerged from his room, having just woken up. Seeing his father about to leave, he immediately followed, afraid of being left behind. Isaac glanced at him and replied, "To replace your mom."

"I want to come too." Daniel wasn't about to be left behind.

Isaac checked his watch and said, "Ten minutes. Go change."

Daniel excitedly dashed back to his room, quickly changed, grabbed his little backpack, and clung to Isaac, "Dad, let's go!"

Isaac scooped him up in one arm and strode out of the hotel.

The banquet was in full swing. After the initial hubbub, all the guests moved into the auction hall.

Leo finally found some time and turned to Brittany, "Ms. Dustin, I'm sorry for inviting you here and then leaving you alone for so long."

"No biggie." Brittany shook her head. She understood that she and Leo were just business partners.

They headed into the auction hall together and found seats.

The auction officially started, and the first piece up for bid was a set of valuable jewelry.

Bidding was fierce, but Brittany wasn't interested in the jewelry set. She barely spared a glance at it.

Leo sat beside her, aware of her single status. He attempted to convey his interest.

"Ms. Dustin, does any jewelry catch your eye?"

Brittany, sensing Leo's interest, gently replied, "I'm a jewelry designer. I don't really need jewelry."

Leo was a sharp one. He understood Brittany's polite rejection.

He was about to respond when the doors to the auction hall opened.

"What the hell?"

Someone grumbled.

SSE F

The auction had already started. Who would be coming then?

"That guy doesn't look like he's from H city."

"Definitely not. I've seen him somewhere." One sharp-eyed guest recognized him and gasped, "That looks like the helmsman of Grandeur Capital, Isaac!"

Brittany was sipping her water when she heard that. She froze in shock.
