Chapter 653
"I can move in, but that doesn't mean I accept you."
1 get it" Isaac understood Brittany's stubbornness. As long as they lived together, he would gradually win her over.
Her house was completely wrecked. Brittany had suffered a severe loss; she was so pissed off that she had a headache.
Isaac packed up her things and called Mia to tell them to head to Radiant Residences.
As Brittany stepped into Radiant Residences again, Emily saw her and quickly approached. "Mrs. Salter."
"Don't call me that." Brittany was a bit uncomfortable. "I'm just crashing here for now."
Emily awkwardly laughed. "Okay, Ms. Dustin."
Isaac spoke as he put down the luggage, "Emily, could you tidy up the guest room upstairs?"
Emily agreed and hurried upstairs.
Brittany headed to the kitchen and served herself a glass of water. As she took a few sips, the doorbell rang.
"Mom, I'm here."
Brittany put down her glass as Daniel rushed in. "Mom, are you going to live here now?"
"For now."
Brittany had already reported the incident to the police, but unfortunately, the surveillance footage was deleted. She had no evidence and could only hope that the police carried out a thorough investigation. Daniel, holding her neck, cautiously said, "Mom, I love you so much."
Brittany's heart softened. "Me too."
Isaac, who was in the living room, was slightly moved by the mother and son's conversation.
He said to Mia, "They'll be staying here for now. You can pick up and drop off Daniel here."
Mia nodded, handed Daniel's things to Isaac, said goodbye, and left.
The next moment, he walked into the kitchen. "What do you feel like eating tonight?"
Brittany, holding Daniel, replied, "Whatever."
Daniel excitedly chose his meal, and Isaac pinched his face. "Take your mom to your room for a bit. We'll eat soon."
After they went upstairs, Isaac began preparing dinner.
Emily had finished tidying up the guest room and walked to the kitchen. "Mr. Salter, Ms. Dustin moved in..."
"She's made some enemies recently, and her home is no longer safe." Isaac continued his work without pausing. "Don't tell Granny about her situation."
Brittany wasn't ready to see Grace yet, and he couldn't force her.
Emily nodded. "Mr. Salter, Ms. Dustin has been through a lot these past few years. You need to be patient and slowly win her over."
"I know."
Emily said what she needed to say and left early.
Brittany played with Daniel for over an hour. Then Isaac knocked on the door. "It's dinner time."
Brittany was indeed hungry, so she took Daniel downstairs.
The three of them sat down and enjoyed dinner. After finishing her meal, Brittany got up. "I'll clean up the kitchen."
She didn't want to enjoy free services.
Isaac followed her. "What are you planning to do about Joseph?"
What Would Joseph do next after wrecking her house this time?
Brittany pressed her forehead, turned on the faucet, and started washing dishes. "I looked into Joseph. He's got people behind him. I'm no match for him now, so I can only try to avoid him." Isaac leaned against the door. "Do you need my help?"
His deep gaze fell on Brittany. She was thinner than she was five years ago, and her waist was even slimmer.
He knew about Brittany's recent situation. Her life abroad these years had not been too good nor too bad.
Brittany sensed his gaze and paused while washing the dishes. "Mr. Salter, could you stop staring at me like a love-struck teenager?"
Isaac moved behind her as his large hand rested on her waist. "You've had a lingering illness since the drowning. Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
