Chapter 659

"After you left, I went ahead and got us officially married."

Brittany slapped Isaac hard, her eyes welling up with tears. She couldn't believe that after five years, Isaac was still as stubborn as a mule! She felt deceived by their sham marriage.

And then, five years later, he sneakily got them legally married and kept it a secret from her for so long!

"Isaac, have you lost your marbles? What on earth did I do to deserve you?"

Brittany was emotional. She couldn't understand what she'd done wrong to deserve being toyed with and tricked again and again!

Isaac took the slap without anger; instead, there was a sense of relief. "I did lie to you, but we should have been married a long time ago."

"If we had gotten married five years ago, we wouldn't be in this mess."

He stepped forward, gripping Brittany's shoulders. "I can make it up to you. Anything you want, I can give you"

Brittany shoved him hard.

Isaac's head hit the wall. He groaned in pain and nearly lost his balance.

"Isaac, I don't want to marry you."

Brittany said, trembling, "Tomorrow I'm taking Daniel and leaving. I'll see you in court."

Isaac took a deep breath, struggling to get up. "I won't agree to a divorce, and you're not taking our son."

"You should know that no lawyer in this city will take your case if I don't agree to the divorce."

Brittany was shaking with anger. "Get out!"

Isaac watched her silently, then slowly got up and left.

Emily heard the argument and wanted to check on them, but she was afraid of upsetting them further.

As she was hesitating, she saw Isaac come down, looking worn out.

"Mr. Salter, are you okay?"

Why had their peaceful daily lives suddenly erupted into an argument?

"I'm fine."Isaac shook his head. "You should get some rest."

After he left, Emily sighed. Life was hard.

The next day, Brittany left Radiant Residences with Daniel..

She moved into a villa prepared by Randell Moore. The villa was near the kindergarten and had excellent security.

Daniel was a bit confused about why they were moving, but seeing his mother's face, he didn't ask.

Brittany went to the marriage registration office and confirmed that she and Isaac were indeed married. She found a lawyer and wanted to sue.

But as Isaac had said, no law firm in the city was willing to take her case.

Jolin, hearing the news, went to see her.

"Brittany, you're divorcing Mr. Salter?"

Jolin, having not left the legal profession after her own marriage, had become quite influential.

"Yes. Brittany knew Jolin was on Isaac's side, so she didn't ask her to represent her.

Jolin, always rational, frowned. "Brittany, as an old friend, I have to say, if you divorce, you might not replace a better man in your future."

Isaac might be a bit extreme, but in all aspects, whether it's status or feelings, he was second to none.

Brittany admired Jolin's ability to see marriage as a transaction; though she couldn't agree, she didn't want to argue.

"Wasting time on worthless people is not worth it. It's better to cut your losses early"

Jolin understood Brittany's character and felt guilty as she was leaving. "I'm sorry, but I can't take your case."

"I understand."

Jolin had helped her before, and Brittany was grateful for that.
