Chapter 671

Brittany was oblivious to the presence of the Dillions as she entered the wedding reception, accompanied by Isaac. As they made their rounds greeting guests, she found herself deeply engaged in a conversation with a high-ranking executive's wife.

Seeing Brittany engrossed in conversation, Isaac took the opportunity to slip away and replace Shona.

"Ms. Dustin," The wealthy woman began, "I heard your orders are backed up until the end of the year. When can you bump me up the list?"

The wealthy woman chuckled.

"If you want it, I'll draft a design for you right away," Brittany replied with a warm smile.

Once Isaac was gone, she was relieved.

After a while, the wealthy woman noticed a man entering the wedding reception. Clearing her throat, she said, "Ms. Dustin, an old friend of yours has just arrived." Brittany turned to see William slowly making his way into the room. He had shed his previous air of despair and seemed gentler at that point.

"I'll go over," She excused herself from the wealthy woman and walked over to William, "William, you're here."""

"Yes, Ryan and I were college roommates. I had to come to his wedding."

William picked up a glass of juice as he curiously asked, "Did you come here alone?

"No, Mr. Salter is here too

The smile on William's face faltered, "Why did he leave you alone?"

"He's busy," Brittany picked up her Champagne, clinked glasses with William and sipped, "I heard Mrs. Dillion has been setting you up on blind dates recently?" It was said that Carla was the chief target.

William was surprised that the news had reached Brittany as he tried to explain the situation, "It's not exactly a blind date. She made some hints, but I didn't agree."

He didn't like Carla. That was the root of it all.

Feeling guilty, Brittany was about to apologize to him when Mrs. Dillion interrupted them.

"Ms. Dustin." Seeing them together, Mrs. Dillion feared that Brittany was trying to lure William again. She quickly approached, giving William a stern look, "Since you are a married woman, you should keep your distance from my son."

Brittany's smile froze.

She and William had never crossed a line. Couldn't they even be friends after breaking up? Did it have to escalate to such a dramatic level?

Mrs. Dillion's voice carried, and the surrounding guests, aware of their relationship, turned their curious eyes towards them.

"It seems like Mrs. Dillion doesn't like Brittany at all?"

"Who would? The last time Brittany and Mr. Salter caused a scandal at the dinner party, the Dillions' reputation took a hit. It's only out of their kindness that they didn't sever ties with them."

"I heard that the Dillions are now trying to marry Ms. Salter into their family! Wouldn't that mean Brittany and William would be related again?"

"Mom, what are you talking about?" William frowned, "Bri and I are friends. Are we not allowed to talk?"

Mrs. Dillion turned pale with anger. That fool was always favoring Brittany; didn't he worry about being taken advantage of?

"William, if you care about our family, you should limit your contact with her."

William wouldn't.

Feeling awkward, Brittany said, "William, we'll talk another time."

"Mrs. Dillion is right, it's awkward between you and William. You should keep your distance." Isaac, hearing the dispute, came over, stood protectively by Brittany, and fixed a cold gaze on Mrs. Dillion. "Mrs. Dillion, even if Bri and William broke up, she's still a benefactor of the Dillions. Is this how you treat a benefactor?"

Mrs. Dillion's face turned ashen. "If not for her, how would the Dillions have ended up in such a predicament!"

Obviously, Brittany's indiscretions were the cause of the troubles for the Dillions.

Isaac couldn't understand why Brittany would use all her assets to save the Dillions when Mrs. Dillion was so clearly against her.

"Mrs. Dillion, even without her, crushing the Dillions would be as easy as lifting a hand for me. You should be more courteous towards her. After all, if it happens again, no one would be willing to use all their assets to save you."

Mrs. Dillion's face blanched and she fell silent.
