Chapter 696
But she could not forgive Isaac for blocking the news, causing her grandmother to miss the best opportunity!
Brittany sidestepped him, intending to leave.
"Have you ever thought about me over these past five years?" Isaac's voice was hoarse, shaking with a hint of vulnerability. "Even for a moment."
Brittany clenched her fists, feeling an acid taste in her throat.
She didn't answer and walked away briskly.
A thud echoed from behind her, but it had nothing to do with her anymore.
Hannah saw her coming out. She sighed with relief, and embraced her, saying, "Let's go."
Brittany wrapped her arms around her waist and replied, "Okay."
Brittany returned to the villa she had lived in before. She contacted her lawyer, drafted a divorce agreement, and sent it to Isaac.
All she asked for was the custody of Daniel. She didn't want anything else.
After waiting for three days, Brittany did not get Isaac's signature.
Instead, she heard the news that Isaac had left Grandeur Capital.
It was said that Marcel, along with the shareholders, had forced Isaac to leave Grandeur Capital, where he had served for many years. Grace Salter was shocked and admitted to the hospital, her life hanging by a thread several times.
Brittany was stunned for a moment when she heard that.
Lionel Chester walked into the office and put down a stack of documents, asking, "Have you heard about the Salter family?"
Brittany was startled, and she collected her thoughts before saying, "Yes, I have."
Lionel didn't expect Brittany to go that far. He sighed, sitting across from her, "When did you start wanting revenge?"
"From the moment William and I broke up."
During those five years, she indeed hated Isaac to the core, but she knew very well that with her abilities, it was next to impossible to bring Isaac down. So, she returned home, never thinking about revenge. Unfortunately, Isaac pushed her too far. And even innocent people got involved!
Lionel sighed and asked, "So what's the next step?"
Isaac was then ruined.
Brittany had gotten what she wanted. What else could she have possibly wanted?
Brittany rubbed her temples, "I want to take Daniel back to our hometown."
For the past five years, she had been in Craneville, never setting foot in Imperial City.
It was time to visit her grandmother now.
"Okay."
After Lionel left, Brittany went to the kindergarten, only to replace out that the Salter family had taken away Daniel.
Brittany did not waste time and rushed to the hospital where Grace was.
As soon as she got out of the elevator, she was shoved hard,
"Brittany, you wretch! You schemed against my cousin behind his back!"
Carla Salter had never imagined that Isaac, whom she idolized, could be brought down by Brittany!
Brittany hit the wall, bearing the pain before fiercely slapping Carla across the face, knocking her to the ground. "Carla, I'm warning you! Don't mess with me!"
She wasn't a pushover.
Brittany, with Daniel on her mind, didn't even bother to look at Carla again and headed straight for Grace's room.
As soon as she reached the door,
"Grace, are you in pain? Does it hurt a lot?" Daniel looked at Grace lying on the hospital bed, his eyes reddening. Grace probably shook her head, making Daniel even more distressed as he tried to comfort the old woman.
Upon hearing that, Brittany's hand tightened on the doorknob. After a few minutes, Brittany opened the door, "Daniel Salter, it's time to go home." Seeing Brittany, Daniel instinctively wanted her to hold him.
"Mommy..."
The old woman on the bed looked towards her, and Brittany nodded coolly in response before saying, "Mrs. Salter, if you wish to see Daniel in the future, please contact me in advance."
"Brittany, Daniel is a Salter. My grandmother can see him whenever she wants, who are you to stop..." Carla, following behind, exploded upon hearing this, "Don't think I don't know what you've been up to. If it weren't for you, my cousin wouldn't be in this mess!"
A cold glance from Brittany silenced Carla, who felt a chill down her spine and couldn't even speak properly.
