Chapter 705

Daniel was restless about Isaac and peştered Brittany to take him to the hospital.

Brittany, left with no choice, accompanied him to the hospital.

Upon entering the ward, Daniel saw Isaac was awake. His eyes brightened as he screamed, "Dad!"

Isaac turned, and Daniel dove into his arms. His little face was full of worry, "Dad, you're finally awake! Do you still feel bad? Are you okay?"

Daniel reached out, feeling Isaac's forehead. The temperature had dropped. "Phew, finally the fever is gone."

Isaac subconsciously held on to Daniel, marking their first close encounter. Daniel nestled into his neck, affectionately.

"How did you get here?"

"Mom brought me." Daniel nestled into him, "Dad, are you hungry? I brought you some soup."

Daniel wanted to present the thermos like a treasure, only to realize it wasn't with him.

He let go, went out of the ward, and when he returned, he handed the thermos to Isaac, "Here, Dad. Eat."

Isaac didn't have much of an appetite as he just woke up.

But he couldn't refuse Daniel's good intentions, so he took the thermos and sat on the bed with Daniel. He opened the thermos and found it filled with chicken soup and some sandwiches. "Who made this?" Isaac asked casually.

"Mom made it." Daniel sat on the edge of the bed as his little legs swung in the air.

Isaac, who originally had no appetite, suddenly found himself hungry. He took a sip of the soup and he realized that it was indeed Brittany's cooking.

On the other side of the wall.

Brittany wa's leaning against the wall, waiting for Daniel to come out.

After about half an hour of waiting and no sign of Daniel, Brittany then received a call from Kari.

Kafi had a car accident in the morning and hurt her arm. Brittany glanced at the father and son still in the room, then turned and left.

In the orthopedic department, Kari had just finished bandaging.

"Kari, what happened?" Brittany helped her, seeing the gauze on her arm, and her brows furrowed.

How on earth did she have a car accident?

"I'm fine. I didn't sleep well last night. I fell asleep at the wheel." Kari feigned nonchalance, "Don't worry. I'll be fine after a few days of rest."

Brittany pursed her lips, "Well, how about taking a few days off then?

"No need. I'm fine." Kari shook her head, "My injury won't affect my work, and it's a critical period now. I can't rest."

Brittany appreciated Kari's dedication. She accompanied her out of the hospital, hailed a cab for her, "Anyway, take care of yourself. I'll arrange a driver for you these days. Don't drive by yourself."

"All right."

After Kari left, Brittany returned to the hospital.

She hadn't walked far when she saw Zella Anderson, who had disappeared for five years.

Compared with five years prior, Zella then seemed even more beautiful, with a little girl by her side, who looked about the same age as Daniel.

"Long time no see."

Zella didn't expect to meet her there. A flash of embarrassment was on her face. She instinctively protected the little girl next to her, but it was a step too late. "Marcel's daughter?"

Zella knew she couldn't hide that matter and gave a helpless smile, "Let's talk somewhere else."

Half an hour later.

They sat in a nearby coffee shop, Zella smiling, "I'm sorry for what happened five years ago."

She deliberately approached Brittany five years prior to expose Isaac's sham marriage. Although things didn't go as planned, the result was satisfactory.

Brittany picked up her coffee and took a sip, "I used to really consider you a friend."

Zella was easy to talk to, but Brittany hadn't expected that it was all a scheme.

Zella's face changed slightly, and a hint of guilt was in her eyes, "I'm sorry"

Brittany's eyes dropped, "Why are you at the hospital?"

"She's not very well, and needs long-term treatment." Zella loyingly glanced at her daughter sitting next to her.

After five years, their relationship was less harmonious and more distant: They didn't talk much before Zella received a call from Marcel and stood up to leave.

Before leaving, Zella looked at Brittany and said, "Brittany, don't cooperate with Marcel. He's not a good partner."

She had been with Marcel for many years, and she knew him better than anyone else.
