Chapter 725

As the first rays of morning light spilled across the room, Hannah stirred, her body aching and her head throbbing.

She had had way too much to drink the previous night.

Memories of the previous night rushed back, making her cringe. She glanced down at her pajamas, and suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.

"Damn it," Hannah muttered to herself. "I knew drinking was a bad idea."

She pushed away the covers and sat up, her legs feeling slightly unsteady.

At least Derek was gone.

Hannah walked into the bathroom and examined the marks on her body in the mirror, rolling her eyes in frustration.

As she made her way downstairs, she heard voices coming from the dining room.

"How long have you been seeing Hannah?"

It was her brother, Lionel Chester.

"For a while now," Derek answered calmly. "Don't worry, Lionel. I'll treat Hannah right."

Derek looked up as Hannah entered the room.

"Morning," he said.

Hannah lowered her voice, "Why are you still here?"

She thought he would have been long gone after what had happened the previous night.

Derek noticed her discomfort and rubbed his nose awkwardly. "Lionel is here. I couldn't just leave."

Hannah looked anxious, afraid of Lionel saying something inappropriate.

"Let's eat." Hannah brushed past Derek and sat down at the table. "Lionel, why are you alone? Where's Moon?"

Lionel and Moon Barton had been married for several months, but they had spent very little time together.

Lionel took a sip of his coffee before answering, "She's on a business trip."

After breakfast, Lionel excused himself to attend to some business. Before leaving, he turned back to Hannah. "Hannah, has Bri definitely divorced Isaac?" "Yes, it's final. I saw the divorce papers myself," Hannah replied, biting into a bagel. "If it weren't for celebrating her divorce last night, I wouldn't have drunk so much." Lionel seemed satisfied with her answer.

After Lionel left, Hannah turned to Derek. "About last night, don't worry about it..."

"But shouldn't you be responsible for what happened?" Derek interrupted.

Hannah was taken aback. Responsible? It wasn't their first time. Why should she have taken the blame? "I haven't asked you to be responsible.

"I want to be responsible for you," Derek said, holding her hand. "I've told you before. I really like you. We've known each other for a while now, but I think we can have a more stable relationship." Hannah was speechless. She couldn't replace the words to refuse him.

Brittany woke up with a hangover. Her housekeeper served her a cup of water to help her sober up. After sipping the water, she entered the bathroom to freshen up.

After changing into her business attire, she headed to her office.

Upon her arrival, she started her work for the day.

In the afternoon, her secretary knocked on the door. "Ms. Dustin, there's a dinner tonight that you must attend."

That dinner was of great importance.
