Chapter 764

After stepping out of the private dining room, Brittany saw Kari surrounded by a group of people.

She was about to approach them to say hello. However, the conversation caught her attention before she could move.

"Kari, we genuinely admire your designs. If you're willing to jump ship, we can invest in your own brand and provide you with a promising future.”

The words struck Brittany like a bolt of lightning.

Were they trying to poach Kari?

Kari stood amid the crowd. Her lips moved, but Brittany couldn't catch her response.

She turned around and headed for the restroom. After two drinks that night, her ears were buzzing.

Kari was talented. Over the years, while Brittany was overseas, Kari practically built up the Bri-jeweled Studio single-handedly.

If she wanted to leave to have a better future, Brittany wouldn't stop her. Instead, she would secretly support her.

Kari hadn't expected them to show up at the restaurant, especially after she had already refused them many times. "I'm sorry, but I really don't want to leave the Bri-jeweled Studio." Kari shook her head. "I appreciate your admiration, but I'm sorry." She stood up, ready to leave.

The leading lady stopped Kari. "Ms. Bennett, I don't understand. We're offering you a better platform, better resources, support. Why won't you cooperate with us?"

and more

As far as she knew, Bri-jeweled Studio had been propped up by Kari these past few years. Her talent was evident. Most people wouldn't be content to work under someone else for the rest of their life. Yet Kari was willing to work for Brittany. She couldn't figure out why.

"I don't want better opportunities." Kari revealed her true feelings. "Over the years, I've poured my all into the Bri-jeweled Studio. I just want it to grow, nothing more." She returned to the dining room, deciding not to tell Brittany about this to avoid causing her concern.

Brittany wasn't there, so Kari had a few drinks with Tina. It was only when the meal was over that Brittany returned from the restroom. "Brittany." Kari greeted her and checked the time. "It's still early. Let's talk." Brittany assumed it would be about Kari leaving, so she eagerly nodded. "Sure."

They found a relatively quiet corner, where Kari mysteriously and happily pulled out an invitation from her bag. "Brittany, Nathan and I have decided to get married. We'd like you to attend the wedding." "Married?" Brittany hadn't expected them to settle down so quickly. She took the invitation and scanned through it. The wedding date was set for early next month.

"Have you met Nathan's parents?"

She was happy that Nathan and Kari were together. Kari wouldn't suffer with him.

"Not yet." Kari shook her head.

Nathan rarely talked about his parents. Apparently, they had a strained relationship, so they hadn't communicated for years.

Even with a significant event like a wedding, Nathan never considered informing them.

As for Kari, she came from a single-parent family. She lived with her mother, who fully supported her decision.

Upon learning that Nathan was associated with Isaac, her mother was even more pleased and had already started preparing their wedding.

Brittany, who rarely heard about these matters from Nathan, wished them well. "Kari, Nathan is a reliable man. I'm happy for you two. Take care of each other."

Kari beamed. "Don't worry, Brittany. Nathan is really good to me."

In Kari's heart, Brittany was not just her boss but her sister. Without the opportunity Brittany gave her, how could she have achieved what she had? She wouldn't have met Nathan, either. Kari hugged Brittany as her eyes brimmed with tears.

Brittany was waiting for Kari to mention leaving, but she never did.

Brittany didn't feel like it was appropriate to ask directly, so she let it go.

Isaac was still in the hospital, so she then paid him a visit.

As soon as she walked in, Isaac frowned at the smell of alcohol. "Have you been drinking?"
