Chapter 828
Isaac had a sleepless night.
Brittany wasn't having it any easier. After wrapping up her work, she crashed in the lounge, sleep eluding her as she tossed and turned.
The wound on her right cheek throbbed, a reminder of all she had endured recently.
Come morning, Brittany had barely awoken when Isaac walked in, breakfast in hand. "You didn't make it home last night, so I brought you breakfast. Eat up before you dive back into
work."
She hadn't expected him to show up, especially after she had made her feelings clear the day before.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, her tone icy.
Isaac met her cool gaze with a pained expression. "I was worried about you," he said, placing the food down and moving closer. "Even if you're mad at me, you shouldn't skip breakfast." Brittany straightened her clothes and walked over to her desk to phone her assistant. "Grab me breakfast, thanks."
Isaac braced his hands on the desk, his eyes deep with concern. “Bri..."
She hung up the call. "Please leave."
She didn't need his charity.
Reading her mind, Isaac lingered before he finally conceded, "Come with me to Marcel's wedding. He invited me, and as rivals, I can't miss such an occasion."
"I get it." Brittany replied.
She had also received the invitation, thoughts of settling scores with Leda simmering in
her mind.
After Isaac left, Brittany ignored the breakfast he brought and waited for the one her
assistant would fetch.

lenne
Brillany and lonac arrived at the banquet, presenting the image of a perter couple to the outside world. However, only they were aware that Brittany had been worn the whole way, clearly wanting nothing to do with Isaac
As they got out of the car, Isaac opened the door for her and extended his hand, Britany sidestepped his offer of help. "I don't need it"
She was dressed to the nines, her figure accentuated by an emerald green gown ther exuded elegance and poise. Her hair was pinned up, exposing the graceful line of her neck
Since their falling out, they hadn't been close. In his youthful ardor, Isaac found himself almost overwhelmed by her subtle fragrance, drawing him closer without thought
"What do you think you're doing?" Brittany caught him leaning in and pushed him back by the chest. "Don't touch me!"
Isaac was stopped in his tracks, his handsome face flushing with embarrassment
"If Mr. Salter is so desperate for a woman, I'm sure your darling sister would be more than willing to oblige, Brittany scoffed, her voice dripping with derision.
Despite knowing she had been wronged, he had turned a blind eye, even defending Jole
Attempting to approach her now was nothing but wishful thinking!
"I only want you," Isaac blurted out, his grip tightening on her hand in desperation. I know what happened with Joie hurt you, and I'll make it right."
Brittany shook off his hand, her gaze icy. "I don't need you to."
She stared him down. "You want Joie to get off scot-free, but I won't let you have your
way."
With those words, she turned and strode away rapidly,
Isaac followed but was intercepted by Manuel "Where's Noel?"
