Chapter 897

Brittany had agreed. On that very day, she signed the share transfer agreement.

Her business partner suggested they have dinner together.

Brittany sought Isaac's approval, and the three of them headed to a restaurant.

It was Brittany's favorite spot.

Her partner had reserved a table in advance, shedding the professional aloofness for a touch of warmth.

She inquired about Brittany's life and upon learning that Brittany had a child, she was delighted.

"Bri, congrats! Now you've got the full package-a happy family. I'm thrilled for you."

Ysabel, her partner, had been married for several years, enjoying a blissful family life with her husband and children prospering in Craneville.

Ever since she'd met Brittany, she'd treated her like a younger sister, lending her support whenever possible.

In private, Brittany affectionately called her "sis."

"Ysabel, thanks for understanding my decisions. If you ever need a hand with anything, just give me a call."

Ysabel smiled gratefully.

Midway through the meal, Isaac excused himself to the restroom.

While he was away, Ysabel poured Brittany a cup of coffee. "Mr. Salter, is he from the Salter family in Imperial City?" Ysabel had been to Imperial City and, having seen the Salter family in the news, was

somewhat familiar with them.

"Yes, he is."

Ysabel was slightly incredulous. "How did you two end up together?"

It wasn't that she underestimated Brittany, nor was she snobbish.

But the Brittany from five years ago and Isaac seemed like they belonged to different worlds, hardly a match.

Knowing Ysabel meant no harm, Brittany roughly sketched out how they'd come to know and love each other. "That makes sense," Ysabel nodded, understanding. "You and Mr. Salter are a good

match."

Then, something seemed to occur to Ysabel. "What about Mr. Dillion from before..."

"We were together, but it didn't work out." Brittany answered truthfully.

"I always felt there was a lack of spark between you two," Ysabel remarked, speaking from experience.

They chatted for over an hour, and Isaac hadn't returned.

Clearly, the restroom had merely served as an excuse; he was giving Brittany space for a private conversation.

Ysabel, with other engagements that evening, soon took her leave.

Before leaving, she leaned in with a conspiratorial air. "Now that you're back in Craneville, there's something you should know. The Lynette family has been quite active lately. Be careful not to cross paths with the wrong people."

"I have no dealings with the Lynette family."

Brittany felt Ysabel was being overly cautious. She didn't plan to stay in Craneville long enough to offend anyone.

"It's always best to be careful," Ysabel advised.

As they exited the private dining room, Isaac was indeed waiting outside. He nodded at Ysabel and turned his gaze to Brittany. "Are you full?" "Yeah."

Their interaction was devoid of overt affection yet the air was thick with an unspoken

intimacy.

Ysabel felt like a third wheel and quickly said her goodbyes. Once Ysabel was gone, Brittany and Isaac left the restaurant. "Did you leave on purpose earlier, Zakky?"

"You were catching up with an old friend. I didn't want to intrude."

Even in a marriage, there's a courtesy for personal connections. Brittany tiptoed and lightly pecked Isaac's lips. "Let's go home."

Ysabel returned to her own home.

Her husband had already finished work for the day.

"I stopped by the studio this afternoon, but you weren't there. Where did you go?" He

handed her a warm cup of milk.

"Bri's back in Craneville. I met up with her this afternoon." Ysabel took a sip of the milk. "By

the way, she transferred her shares to me, keeping only the original stake."
