Chapter 317

Payton stood, a tray in her hands. She was on her tiptoes, looking into the distance.

The staff elevator was out of order for ten minutes, so the busy waitstaff chose the stairs. About two minutes later, a guy in a black shirt walked into the elevator surrounded by several bodyguards in black. He was wearing a baseball cap, and from this distance, his face was unclear, only his silhouette was vaguely visible. But Payton knew, it was him.

It had to be him.

"Payton, what are you doing? Get back to work or some customer might complain! Still want your bonus next month?"

"Yes." Payton answered casually. But she didn't move, still standing there, until the elevator opened again and another staff member went in. Then she lowered her head with a hint of disappointment. She had only just caught a glimpse of him from afar.

"Payton, what are you looking at? You're so out of it." Vera came over, lightly patting Paytons shoulder. Seeing Payton staring off into space, she also loaked in that direction. There was nothing in the elevator. "Some people just walked past Payton said.

"Payton, you've been working here for so long, and people come and go every day. What's there to see?" Vera asked.

"You wouldn't understand" Payton looked at Vera, her voice filled with infatuation, "You just wouldn't."

Only a few people knew that the big boss was coming today, she had overheard the news by chance.

"Vera, can you cover for me? My stomach suddenly hurts, I need to go to the bathroom Payton said as she pushed the tray into Vera's hands. Their rooms were connected, so if it wasn't too busy, one person should be enough. "Vera, remember that pendant you liked when we went shopping the other day? I'll get it for you next week. Thanks for helping out tonight." After saying that. Payton headed upstairs. Vera watched Paytons retreating figure, "Ugh, fine."

That necklace was over a hundred bucks. She really didn't get what was up with Payton tonight, acting so weird. But then again, Payton wasn't short on money. She shook her head and headed towards the wine cellar

Payton made it to the 9th floor, the most mysterious part of the Red Jack Club. The most mysterious boss of the Red Jack Club had his office here.

But none of the Red Jack Club employees, except for Samuel and the likes, had ever seen the boss, not even Sarah and Serena.

Payton arrived on the 9th floor, but there was security guarding, and she couldn't get in. She didn't want to leave empty-handed. She had to see this guy's face.

It had to be him!

9th floor, the CEO's office.

The office was dark, the windows were closed, and the gray curtains were tightly drawn.

Samuel lowered his head, "Boss, we didn't know you were coming. You didn't give us a heads up. We could ve welcomed you"

The man sitting on the dark brown leather sofa emanated a powerful aura. He looked young, not like the middle-aged, pudgy man the outside world speculated. He was clean-cut, but not weak. His eyes were unique, the left one was light gray, and the right one was normal.

His nose was high and sharp, his facial features were pronounced, and his short hair made him look particularly rugged.

"You're saying, I need to give you a heads up when I come here?" He said.

"No, boss, that's not what I meant." Samuel immediately lowered his head. The powerful aura made him nervous, his body even started to tremble and his originally overweight figure appeared rather peculiar in the trembling,

The boss raised his hand to rub his brow, "Samuel, anything unusual at the Red Jack Club lately?"

"Nothing, everything's normal." Hearing the boss ask this, Samuel let out a sigh of relief. He patted his chest, "Boss, don't worry. As long as I'm here, everything's under control."
