The Billionaire’s Regret
Chapter 205 –

Wyatt remained silent for some time. "Also, I did not instruct Duke to be so chatty around Marco. He chose to act independently and betray me. I'm not going to let him off the hook." His tone of voice was icy. This time, his best friend Duke dragged him through the mud.

He became enraged at the mere mention of this matter.

It was simply unacceptable!

Ivy's lips curled into a cold smile at the corners.

After this incident, Duke occasionally sent her essay-length messages to "cover-up" Wyatt.

She never answered.

It was useless to cry over spilled milk.

Did they believe she would accept it?

"Mr. Reed, what is the point of saying this now?"

How long would he continue to pretend if she hadn't learned that his leg had been healed?

"Please, Ivy. Give me one more chance. I know I was a jerk. I don't deserve you like what others said, but I can't hold my heart anymore. I'm hurting. I lied because I am afraid that I will forever lose you. Please..."

Wyatt doesn't care how he looks. He could feel his tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Please, Ivy. Give me one more chance to prove my love to you."

Ivy snorted. "You wasted three years. I wasted my whole time with you. Do you think it was easy to give chances? Honestly, Mr. Reed, the wound is still here," she pointed to her chest, "it's not fully healed yet. And now, you dared to lie to me? Fine, I forgive you for lying but I don't know if I can still give you one more chance. Love is not a game, Mr. Reed," she added and after that, she turned her back and walked away from him.

Wyatt didn't move. Ivy's words were like a sharp knife that has been stabbed into his chest.

Did he totally lose her already?

'No, it can be. I won't give up. I was once a jerk. But I only did it to help someone, yet it was too late for me to realize that I already lose the chance to be my wife! Wyatt won't let the same thing happen again and he believes in the phrase: never give up!

He will continue to coax Ivy until she gives him the chance that he wanted. If that happens, he will never waste it and will make every moment memorable, until Ivy will say YES once again.

"Ivy, it's been a month since Wyatt keeps on sending gifts and flowers. How long would you let the man suffer from waiting until you talk to him?" Windy asked while they were inside the salon.

Windy invited Ivy to pamper this day. And also she wants to talk to Ivy about Wyatt.

"Does ignoring Wyatt means that you're acknowledging Marco Seely?"

Ivy arched her brow and put down the magazine. She glared at Windy. "I already reminded Mr. Seely that I will not entertain anyone. And this includes Wyatt."

Windy heaved a deep sigh as she shook her head. "You don't have to be like that. Wyatt was your ex-husband. He made a mistake, but he already regretted things. Why can't you acknowledge him once again? Since the divorce, he's always been there for you, caring for you. Protecting you. Why don't you give him a chance to prove himself? His love?"

Ivy scoffed. "He wasted three years."

Windy sighed. "Let's talk about this later. I want to knock some sense into your head," she said.

Ivy didn't talk back.

After pampering into the salon, they decided to eat in an Italian restaurant, and afterward, they went straight to Ivy's condo.

It was Windy's choice as they can do heart-to-heart talk here rather than in the Morgan mansion.

Ivy pushed herself into the sofa and grabbed the throw pillow.

"Windy, please. Wyatt and I were over."

Windy shook her head. "I know you still love him. It's just that you are hurt because he didn't pay attention to you for the past few years. But you can't blame him, Ivy."

Ivy frowned at her.

"Wyatt is a type of a guy who weighs things-"

"So, you're Wyatt's fan now?" Ivy cut off the hum of her words.

Windy rolled her eyes. "No. Maybe. Whatever. I am just trying to remind you. The man regretted everything. Look how he manages his family now. If he gets blind in the past, that doesn't mean that he will be forever. Ivy..."

"I owe him for saving my life, Windy. But the wound is too deep. I can forgive him but I don't know if I can still give him a chance."

Windy moved closer to Ivy and held her left hand. "You made a decision abruptly when you decided to marry him. You bribe him and led your way to that life, 3 years ago. He was in need at that time because of the obligation that his late friend left, which is Alice- the-bitch, but can't you see nor feel it? Wyatt doesn't love that woman. Yes, he cares but-"

"Enough with this, Windy. Even if you keep on-"

"The Ivy I knew was kind and wants to live a happy life. If you keep on ignoring Wyatt-the man who seems not to know the word 'give up' I think you're choosing a bumpy road."

"He lied to me. He pretended-"

"It's because he doesn't want you to stay away. He wants you near him. He was just afraid. Look, love can make you a fool at the same time, crazy. Don't you get it, Ivy? He loves you so much."

Ivy remained silent.

"Think about it. I am not saying that you will accept him easily. I am just trying to remind you that Wyatt deserves a second chance. It's up to you how to handle things between the two of you. Do you get me?"

Ivy sighed. "I don't know. I want to focus on my career. To the company. At this moment, love life is my last priority."

Windy heaved a deep sigh as she stood up. She shrugged her shoulders. "Well, I can't talk much anymore. I already reminded you. Anyways, I gotta go. See you next time," she said and grabbed her bag from the side table before she left. Should she consider Windy's idea?

But what if the past will repeat itself? She doesn't want to experience any more heartbreak. Though she knew that love is about taking a risk.

Ivy stood up after a few moments and get inside her room to take a cold shower.

Drying her hair in front of the vanity table, her phone rang.

She frowned and glanced at the phone screen. It was an unknown number. She then ignored it but the caller called again.

"Seriously?" she mumbled.

Annoyed, she grabbed the phone and said, "Hello?"

The other line formed a static sound as if the person dropped his or her phone.

She frowned and said, "Hello," once again.

"I... Ivy..."

Ivy arched her brow. She turned off the blower. She knew the owner of the voice.

"What?" she asked and been wanting to ask where the hell did he get her number.

"Let's talk, Ivy, please."

"We're talking already."

"Please, don't drop the call. If... if you're free tomorrow, let's meet. I have something important to tell you."

"I'm a busy person, Mr. Reed. My time is valuable. My schedule is full tomorrow, the next day, the next, next day... the whole year," she said, sarcastically.

Wyatt on the other side sighed in disbelief. After that day, about a month ago, Ivy keeps on ignoring him. Also, to avoid him totally, she let Cooper handle the project with ABC Corporation.

He was partly happy about her decision since she will not interact with Marco Seely also. But the idea was frustrating since he can't have the chance to talk to her, privately.

Despite this, Jimmy suggested that he must not stop sending presents for her, which he always does, every single day.

"If you have nothing more to say, I'll end the call. Bye-"

"Wait!"

But it was too late, she already ended it.

Wyatt heaved a deep sigh as he put down his phone and delved into deep thoughts.

How will he tame her?
