The Billionaire’s Regret -
Chapter 93 –
Wyatt's voice was enchanting, mellow, deep, and husky. His emotions were suppressed and restrained in his eyes. The air almost froze as soon as his words were spoken.
Ivy's face was drained of blood in an instant. Her eyes were filled with disbelief.
'Did I hear something wrong? He desired... me? Back then, the person who wanted to throw me away like a bag of trash actually chose me?! What exactly did Wyatt Reed want?' Ivy was puzzled and couldn't believe what she had just heard. The silence in the air gradually eroded her serenity.
Wyatt's gaze was fixed on Ivy's face, observing every emotion and detail in her eyes. Shock, awe, detachment, and resistance.
Fortunately, there was no disgust among all the other emotions
Wyatt moved closer to her, wanting to stroke her hair. He wanted her to know that his feelings for her were genuine.
He was genuine. However, before he could touch her, Ivy backed away subconsciously, as if she was afraid of him.
Ivy had not reacted when Vince was so close to her, but she avoided Wyatt like the scourge.
Her avoidance pricked Wyatt's heart, but he pretended as if nothing had happened.
The emotions in his eyes surged as he hooked his lips into a smile.
His voice was raspy and gentle, and he spoke with great restraint.
"I wasn't joking, Ivy. I'm not much better than you at the moment. I think our divorce was a little hasty."
Ivy's brow was furrowed. She became aware of something and turned to face him.
The man's eyes burned with unmistakable joy and glee. It nearly burned her.
Her heart trembled violently the moment she saw through the emotions in his eyes.
'Did I just catch a glimpse of nostalgia and fondness in his eyes?'
At that moment, the feelings in Ivy's heart rippled like a stagnant pool of water from the rock that had been thrown in unexpectedly.
It was not from joy but rather from shock. However, it only lasted a fraction of a second. Ivy averted her gaze and resumed her stoic demeanor.
She drew her lips together and raised her eyes to meet his. Her eyes lacked any hint of warmth.
"Our marriage was too hasty, Mr. Reed."
She decided to divorce after three years of deliberation. It was a relief for her.
Wyatt's body stiffened as Ivy's words were spoken.
His soft face tensed, and the emotions in his eyes shattered inch by inch.
Ivy met his gaze without hesitation.
Ivy had no reason to refuse him if he had asked for anything else, even if he wanted to demand an excessive sum.
On the other hand, Ivy no longer had the heart to step into that pit of fire again if he wanted a romantic relationship.
"Please, Ivy, give me one more chance. I'll-" Wyatt's face was pale as he gazed at her almost mournfully. Ivy cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
"Mr. Reed, don't tell me you're resentful of your divorce and that you've fallen for me now, do you?"
Wyatt nodded as he looked at Ivy. "Yes." His voice had become hoarse and dry.
He admitted that Ivy was irreplaceable in his life.
He admitted that he had never been so open about his feelings for her before.
He admitted that the heart-wrenching pain was so unbearable when he found out about Ivy's accident that she had to be his life's love.
Their divorce was the dumbest thing he'd ever done.
He would have given anything to have Ivy by his side if he could do it all over again!
When Ivy received that response, she simply hooked the corners of her lips and delivered the death sentence in a calm and composed manner.
"Everything between us, Mr. Reed, is in the past. I'm no longer interested in it, and I'm no longer interested in you. As a result, discussing feelings between us is not appropriate. I am truly grateful for everything you've done by risking your life to save me, so if you need anything, you can go directly to my father and eldest brother. They will not, without a doubt, refuse you." Ivy refused to discuss repayment.
Even though the Reeds had plenty of money, who would ever complain about having too much? This would be more appropriate for Leo and Cooper to handle.
Wyatt was taken aback by Ivy's distant and polite demeanor.
"I lost interest in you long ago," she said.
More than her mockery or resentment, this sentence left Wyatt feeling befuddled.
He felt as if thin needles were piercing all of his organs, causing him excruciating pain.
A trace of bitterness rose from the depths of his heart, making him feel powerless.
Wyatt had long lost the Ivy from three years ago who had only eyes for him.

Ivy sighed and stroked Simba, who was in her arms. She appeared to have finished speaking with him. Nonetheless, Wyatt refused to give up.To access the complete chapters for free, visit Jo bnlb.com. How could I have given up so quickly? That stab in the heart was well-deserved!' Wyatt tried valiantly to smile and appear warm. He looked down and took a photo from his pocket that he had been staring at for a long time.
Because he had been pinching it so hard, his fingertips had turned white.
Ivy had previously saved his life, but she had never mentioned it.
Wyatt did not believe she would truly forget all of her feelings for him.
"Ivy, I still owe you a life," he said, his voice magnetic and raspy. "You never informed me that the person in the photograph was you."
Wyatt would not have ignored her presence in their marriage if he had known it was her. At the very least, he would not have allowed their marriage to end in such a disastrous way.
Ivy took a look at the photograph. Her face stiffened as she was taken aback. For a brief moment, her breath became obstructed.
She subconsciously looked up and saw Wyatt's eyes filled with deep guilt and remorse. She suddenly realized something.
Her heart grew cold at the bottom. 'Turns out he thinks he owes me, huh?'
Ivy pursed her lips, averted her gaze, and said calmly, "That's not me."
If that were the case, Ivy would prefer not to admit it. The terrorist attack and underground fight club experience in Europe felt like a dream.
Ivy was glad to have met Wyatt, but she also wished she hadn't.
Wyatt took a brief pause. His eyes were filled with skepticism because he simply did not believe Ivy's words.
"It's impossible; how could this not be you?"
'She's obviously lying! Why? Is it because she didn't want to admit she'd known me for a long time?'
As he took a painful gasp, Wyatt's heart felt like it had been yanked out.
Ivy chuckled softly. Her gaze was cold and uninterested. "You're mistaken, Mr. Reed. I'm not the right person for the job. We had never met before we married."
She didn't want to revisit those long-buried memories, those carefully guarded hardships that belonged solely to her.
She didn't want her last shred of dignity to be trampled on at will. Since she had decided to let go, she would simply discard the past.
Wyatt's eager gaze gradually cooled. When he met Ivy's distant gaze, he felt as if his heart had been dipped in a bucket of ice water, slowly cooling it to the freezing point. He couldn't make her admit it if she didn't want to.
'It's fine if she doesn't admit it right away. In any case, we have a bright future ahead of us.
Wyatt kept the photo and gave her a gentle look.
"Okay. It makes no difference if that isn't you. I meant it when I said I wanted to be with you, Ivy."
His large hands were like works of art in their own right. The moment they covered Ivy's hands, Ivy frowned and tries to withdraw her hand, but he held her tightly.
He didn't move and didn't let her refuse.
Ivy was slightly taken aback and did not struggle any further. Instead, she raised her gaze to meet his.
She met his gaze and drew the corners of her lips together. Her voice was gentle but lacking in warmth.
"Mr. Reed, wishful thinking can be as annoying as bravado at times. I now understand how you felt when I insisted on marrying you."
They'd completely switched places.
Wyatt's body stiffened slightly as he heard her words. His gentle smile froze, and a dull pain spread across his chest.
Panic erupted from the depths of his heart and spread infinitely.
Wyatt opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but Ivy didn't let him.
"Are you there, Sebastian?" she yelled at the front door.
"Yeah! I'm here!" Sebastian responded immediately and pushed the door open. He would always be there for his sister and would not give others the slightest chance to harm her.
Ivy smiled and turned to face Wyatt. "I've said everything I wanted to say, Mr. Reed. Right now, I'd like to rest."
Wyatt stood motionless. His gaze was deep as he looked at Ivy's stunning face, which had such a cold smile that it was like a sharp knife stabbing his heart, causing him to burst into tears. His fists were clenched at his sides. There were countless regretful words he couldn't say because she didn't want to hear them.
Ivy didn't even despise him anymore. She was simply ignoring his feelings.
Sebastian coughed and gave him a stern look. "Didn't you hear her say she was tired, Wyatt Reed? Leave."
Wyatt was despised by Sebastian because anyone who had hurt his sister was a bad person! As a result, there was no need to be courteous to him.
Ivy had already shifted her gaze away. She stroked Simba and leaned back in her chair.
Wyatt felt his heart clench as he saw the determination and candor in her eyes. It was an indefinable sensation. He finally realized that Ivy no longer liked him.
He was deafeningly quiet for a few seconds. His voice remained gentle, but it was hoarse, deep, and depressed. "Well, then, rest well." He then turned to walk away.
Before reaching the door, he came to a halt and said quietly, "What I said was sincere. Perhaps you can't accept it right now, but Ivy, I truly regret it."
Wyatt then walked out of the room without looking back. Sebastian frowned, perplexed. "What did he actually say?"
