SABRINA SANTIAGO

Tears found their way down my cheeks. I felt hostility towards the fact that I wasn’t only a burden to Kai but I had ended up putting his life in danger. I glanced at my hands which were scorched with Kai’s b***d. Lisa had been taken inside to clean her injuries with disinfectant and clinical cleaning kits while I waited in the waiting room to be taken care of afterward, since my injury wasn’t as severe as hers.

The hospital’s main door plunged open as some rogue guards escorted the lady who had visited Kai the first time he accompanied me to his house. I guess she was his mother and the Luna of the dark howler pack by the way she walked with grandness and nobility. The moment she was inches near, I noticed that they all halted.

My wolf began to whimper in fear and in the blink of an eye, I couldn’t see anything again. “Siv?” I mind-linked in anxiety but got no response, why does she have to take her sight the minute we come in contact with Kai’s mother? The slap that settled on my face caught me off guard.

I rubbed the side of my cheeks from the pain of being slapped hard. “Sso, rry,” I stuttered, not knowing why I let out an apology.

“You have been nothing but bad luck since you met my son, you not only included my son in your bad luck but my daughter also.” I heard her growl and it scared me to my bones. “I’m going to make you pay for what you have done and make you beg for mercy.” She let out.

“Get her and teach her a lesson of agony that she would never forget,” she ordered. I was being dragged mercilessly like a blind rogue that I was. They didn’t care how hard my leg kept bumping into gravel.

Finally, I was flung to the floor. I tried to feel the floor to get an idea of where this place was, but nothing seemed to come to my mind. I whimpered in pain when I felt a painful whip on my back. They continued torturing me, kicking my already bruised cut. I fell to the ground hitting my head painfully on the floor. I felt many hard legs kick me badly on the head and stomach.

I could feel b***d running down my face, getting into my eyes until I could taste little of them. I held onto my tummy, it was beginning to hurt a little, the pain was becoming unbearable and I needed help instantly.

I had nobody to come to save me, this wasn’t my pack and I had nobody to mind-link. Maybe if I had a caring mate who hadn’t rejected me, I might never have encountered any of this. The whipping of my body continued as the pain started to feel part of me and the only expression of pain was through the drop of tears that lingered out of my eyes.

The taste of b***d filled my mouth. I could no longer feel my face the moment the whipping stopped, the stench of b***d hit my nostrils. My head wouldn’t stop pounding as it began to feel dizzy.

Everything instantly went jet black.

LISA POV

“Sabrina,” I yelled severally after roaming every corner of the hospital with the hope of seeing her. The entrance of the hospital was guarded by so many rogue guards and that instantly told me the witch was here. Oh yes, my mother is not a she-wolf but a witch who the moon goddess mated to my father.

“Mother, where is Sabrina?” I inquired, surging furiously inside the room. Kai was lying with the heart monitor beeping non-stop. “Even if you have lost your respect for me, at least not now when your brother is in this condition.” She let out, rubbing Kai’s hand gently.

“Do you think Kai here would be happy when he wakes up and replaces out that you took his mate?” I let out. “That blind rogue is no mate to my dear son, Kai has Tiana to take care of him and bestow him an heir to continue to rule this pack,” she said, disgusting me.

If she wasn’t my mother, my wolf would have pulled out all her hair angrily. “I have nothing to do with her whereabouts,” My mother said, rubbing Kai’s hair calmly as she kept wiping out her tears. “She was here just a few minutes ago but after you showed up, she despaired mom,” I let out with a scowl.

“Have some respect, Lisa, I’m your mother and I won’t have you talk to me this way or disrespect me. That girl is bad luck, she is even getting us into a fight already.” My mother let out, holding Kai’s hand.

“If your brother only listened, he wouldn’t be in this condition,” my mother said, caressing his hands gently.

“If you are a good mother as you claim, you would let Kai have his chosen mate rather than interfering in who he chose. Kai doesn’t love Tiana but Sabrina, and nothing can change that, not even you his mother,” I let out,, the door to Kai’s room, flung open, showing Tiana.

“I hope you don’t regret your actions. I should probably let you and your favorite daughter have your time together,” I let out before leaving to replace Sabrina.

I had searched every nook and cranny of the packhouse, including the dungeon, but Sabrina wasn’t anywhere close. I spoke to the guards but they all had no idea. I started to get even more worked out when the sun began to go down.

“Sabrina, pardon me, I shouldn’t have compelled you to go to the woods with me,” I muttered, trying every possible means to hold my breath.

I’m surrounded by darkness. Everything was black and no light was visible to my sight. My eyes and left cheeks seemed to be swollen hard, my head was throbbing hard from not having anything to eat for God knows how long. I tried to move but it seemed I had been chained with some chains.

I couldn’t help it, a whimper escaped my lips. My hands were sore and I was so weak. My thoughts wandered to Kai. Was he okay? Had his injuries been treated well? My thoughts were snatched short when the unlocking of a door was heard.

I almost lost control because I tried to move back and hide from the people who had tortured me. “I would let you leave if you tell my son off when he wakes up, tell him you would never accept him as your mate. Reject him,” the voice let out.

“You havhave pup coming and you can’t allow another to raise him, do you?” The voice of Luna let out, making me stunned.
