The Blind Luna
Chapter 53

Simon gawked at Sabrina for a few minutes and she wondered what was going on in that brain of his, meanwhile, Simon felt he had the responsibility to protect her. The moon goddess had given him this chance to have her and he sure was the luckiest in any relationship they would have.

His face was inches close to her lips when his beta mind linked him, making him pull away. “What’s wrong? Do you have to talk to me now?” He snarled a bit mad that his beta had interrupted something good.

“The guard said they had smelled bad at the border. There might be an enemy attack.” His beta mind-linked.

“Get all Army and wait for me right there,” Simon gave an order. “We need to leave,” he let out, holding Sabrina’s hand as they ran towards the border.

Simon pushed Sabrina behind him. He wasn’t going to allow anything to happen to her but he was shocked that she confidently stood in a position that showed that she was ready to attack any intruder.

He smiled, she would make a powerful Luna that would protect her pack at all courses but his thought was caught short when the rustling of leaves and the sound of footsteps were heard approaching them.

Simon moved close to Sabrina before holding her hands. He stared keenly waiting for the monsters, enemies, or ugly beings to show themselves.

Simon was shocked as well as stunned at what popped out from the leaves. A burst of hysterical laughter escaped his lips. He stared at the little girl who had a wooden toy airplane in her grip. He hoped this wasn’t the reason that his moment with Sabrina was caught short. His beta had to be kidding right? He had made all of them gather here to fight a five-year-old girl.

He stared at his beta who had a shocked expression on his face as well. “She is so cute,” Sabrina said, trudging towards the girl but Simon stopped her. “She might be a weapon used to get us.” Simon let out before Sabrina ignored moving toward the girl.

She slowly bent to the girl’s level. “You are so adorable and I want to be your friend, my name is Sabrina. What’s yours?”

Sabrina asked, rubbing the little girl’s hair.

“Angela,” she said with a smile.

“What a sweet name for a cutie like you, what are you doing out here Angela? Your mom and dad may be worried sick about you,” Sabrina let out.

“B***d everywhere,” Angela let out, cleaning her eyes.

“I told you, she isn’t armed. She might have lost her parents,” Sabrina let out.

“Angela, Angela are you okay?” The voice of a teenage girl running toward them made all the Army assembled to raise their weapon. She had her hair rough and b***d all over and an injured face as she clutched the little girl tightly.

“What’s wrong with you all, keep your weapons away,” Sabrina yelled as they dropped them.

“Mate?” Simon’s wolf growled in his head making him confused. Did he have two mates? How is that possible? “Drop your weapons,” he ordered moving toward Sabrina before pulling her into a hug.

He also had no idea why he was doing this but hugging Sabrina made him feel less nervous around this newfound truth. Sabrina wondered why Simon was hugging her in such a serious situation, now she believed that he was showing his childish sides and it was adorable.

“Mate?” The lady let out and Sabrina almost choked. She wondered who had found his mate in such a serious situation. “Sarah, what do you mean by mate?” The little girl asked the girl who we think is her sister.

“It’s the pull and sparks a person feels when he replaces his mate,” She explained. “Is he your soulmate?” Angela asked, pointing at Simon.

“Yes,” Sarah replied.

“If he is your soulmate, why is he hugging someone else?” Angela asked a little too sharp for her age. Sabrina instantly pulled away from Simon. Sabrina Stared at Marcus who gave her a look of what kind of movie we were watching right now?

Sabrina soon felt helpless but she didn’t want to show Simon that she was bothered. “Why don’t we get you both cleaned up, you need to eat also.” Sabrina let out with a small smile. “We would just leave, we don’t want to intrude.” Sarah let out.

“What? You’re the Alpha’s mate and a mate given to him by the moon goddess. Is best we honor you,” Sabrina let out her voice almost breaking. “Sabrina, we don’t need to do this, she might be lying,” Simon let out but Sabrina ignored him before walking away.

“I need some time alone. Watch those two closely, I still don’t trust them.” Simon mind-linked his beta before trying to leave. “I hope you don’t do anything rash, the moon goddess doesn’t do something that would hurt anybody. She might have a purpose.” His beta let out but it wasn’t helping how he felt.

“Thanks, I’m just going to leave! Just do as I have instructed,” Simon muttered as they watched him walk away. “Would you love some juice?” Sabrina asked Angela who nodded in affirmation.

“No, She doesn’t take things that are too sweet,” Sarah muttered nervously. “Oh alright,” Sabrina let out with a smile before handing the cup of orange juice to Sarah. “I think you should drink yours, it’s yummy.” Sabrina said as Sarah collected the cup with shaky hands.

“Here is milk for you,” Sabrina said, dropping the milk in front of Angela. “Thank you,” Angela said with a wide grin. Sabrina watched as the little girl drank from the glass. It was her first sip but she had milk splattered all over her mouth.

“Yummy,” the girl let out adorably.

It was quiet as Sabrina watched them eat silently. She watched as the little girl played with her little toy while Sarah’s hand kept shaking as she ate.

Sabrina had many questions to ask them but she didn’t want to startle her. She wanted to make them feel comfortable before she threw all the questions at them. As weird as it may seem, Sabrina was beginning to get fond of them.

She knew they were survivors of a dreadful experience and they wouldn’t betray them but her wolf seems unsettled.

Sabrina wondered if there was more to what they were doing here?
