The Bully's Hated Mate -
The Bully’s Hated Mate – Chapter 48
LUCIUS’ POV:
I didn’t stop with the affections.
Something was happening within me. I wanted her to know that although it took me a while to come to realise it, she was worth it.
Today was going to be the perfect day to really tellCcassia how I felt, I needed her to see that I had repented. I had changed that I was going to be intentional about her from here on out.
We got to school in our usual routine, I made it mandatory to always open the car door for her immediately we got to school and I didn’t fault in my routine. As she stepped down from the car, I noticed her mood was damper than it usually was.
I furrowed my brows as she linked her hands in mine to walk through the entrance, something she always did before we disengaged and walked individually.
I brought my mouth to her ear as we started to walk and flash smiles to everyone who was present outside.
“Are you ok?” I asked, trying my best to bring out the concern that paraded my chest. She was shocked, I could tell by the way her eyebrows shot up and her eyes had widened. She looked at me, her eyes moving from the right side of my face to the left and then she brought her face back to normal without answering my question.
A huge part of me felt pained that she would openly ignore me like that but the same big part of me knew I deserved much worse, so I let it be.
Classes had started but the only thing that was on my mind was what exactly was troubling cassia. I could feel the worry creeping up on me and wearing me like a cloth but most importantly, I felt her sadness.
Everything in me itched to replace out what was going on with her, at the same time I knew I was definitely more than eighty percent the cause of her unhappiness and the fact that I knew I was right made me feel even more guilt and shame.
As the classes came close to lunch hour, I suddenly had an idea on how I was going to cheer her up, ask for her forgiveness and at the same time beg her to take me back.
“Excuse me” I said, raising up my hand and stopping the class. Our teacher, Mr Lancelot was not very pleased that his class had been disrupted and frowned even more when he realized it was mewho had caused the disruption.
“Yes?” His frown deepening as he released his face from his glasses. Teachers had never intimidated me but if they were to start then Mr Lancelot was totally the top tier.
“I need to use the bathroom” I said, not even flinching from the multiple eyes that were staring deeply at me, some lustfully, most annoyingly and others just clueless. I noticed that cassia didn’t even turn to look at the commotion. My heart gave a painful squeeze.
“You may leave” he said, taking his glasses and imprisoning his face once more and totally forgetting that I was here. I got up and left my seat, again ignoring a particular set of eyes that looked at me scornfully.
I walked out of the classroom and even as I turned to look at cassia, she didn’t pay me any attention. I inwardly hoped that what I was going to do was going to get not only her attention but her forgiveness. I can’t do this anymore.
The bodyguards were stationed at the door, guarding the classroom. They stood at attention when I walked out and again another idea flashed through my mind.
“Your highness. Is there a problem?” One of the guards asked, clenching his weapon firmly at his side.
“Yes. I need you to do something for me” I said and a smile spread wide across my face as I began to narrate with excitement what I needed done.
I entered into the classroom, rather late and again the teacher stopped the class and turned to look at me.
“One hell of a trip Lucius” he spoke out loud, that erupted a series of laughter, I was too caught up in my excitement if what was to come, I didn’t even pay attention to the clear shade he had obviously thrown at me. I just sat down and nodded my head at him, unconsciously making him feel uncomfortable and keep on going.
Again, I looked to cassia where she sat in front of me and she still didn’t turn or even try to steal a glance.
I hoped to Goddess that she was going to like what I had in store for her, the problem was how was I going to get her to stand up and come to the cafeteria when it was time?
***
Lunch hour approached and even though I felt guilty for doing this, I prayed that cassia would zone out and I could repeat the events of what happened the first time that she started to zone out in class, the fist time she even came to school after the incident.
To my surprise, the moon goddess answered my prayers and she had zoned out just before the last teacher rolled out and the lunch bell had sounded. Everyone left the class to go out to do their own business and cassia didn’t even notice that none of the students who stepped out of the class was coming back. I already had a tray of food prepared for her and like I did before, I set it before her.
I prayed she Rejected the food and want to get hers by herself and again, to my surprise she did.
She snapped back to reality like she always did and walked out on me towards the cafeteria, I hurriedly went there before her and as she approached the cafeteria hall, I was already here and waiting for her.
Cassia
Lucius had made a fool of himself today and I knew he did it to get my attention, there was nothing that he could do to get me to look at him in the face.
As I walked towards the cafeteria I started to notice that everyone was in clusters and they were smiling and laughing and giggling at me, in hushed tones.
What the hell was happening here again? I mentally asked myself as I rolled my eyes at a group of girls that squealed when they saw me.
As I opened the double doors of the cafeteria, my eyes widened in shock as my mouth stood agape.
Before me was a stage and on that stage, Lucius kneeled with one knee down and one knee up. I was embarrassed because everyone started looking at me expectantly. I slowly prayed that this was just an act been performed and not actual real s**t.
“Ladies and gentlemen!” His voice rang out from where he kneeled. He stretched his hands towards me and I muttered ‘ s**t’
“I give you, an angel and your future Luna! Cassia!!” He said. The crowd started to cheer and scream as the girls kept awwning to an event I was clearly not aware of.
“Cassia. I intentionally brought you here and while his may be too much, I needed your attention. I still do” he said, still kneeling as he took in a breathe.
“I’m sorry I’ve been such an a*****e! Everyone!! I’m a jerkface, alright?” He screamed into the audience and people laughed.
“I’ve been a jerk and I know I don’t deserve you but I burn for you cassia. I have never found another reason greater than your existence to want to keep on living. To want to spend the rest of my life with someone” he spoke. My cheeks flushed immediately. I wanted to get out of here but at the same time, Lucius had a way to make the butterflies in my tummy knot in happiness.
” I don’t want you to accept me because I’m worthy of your love. I’m not worthy of your affection or you. I just want you to forgive me because losing you isn’t worth it. Isn’t worth it by a Mile” slowly he got up and off the stage, the crowd parting for him to come to me.
“I’m sorry cassia. I haven’t been the best. I want to change, I want to hear you speak and talk to me and yell at me because you know I’m an i***t” he said and a laugh escaped my lips.
” Forgive me cassia. I’ve been a fool but now my eyes have been opened by you. I want to learn and I want to show you how intentional I am about you.” He came to me fully, his hands slowly running from my waist to my feet as he knelt in front of me.
I felt my emotions rise up faster than I could have imagined but if there was any emotion I felt right now, it was love.
” Will you forgive me?” He asked and the hall turned silent at once. I looked into his eyes and all I saw was sincerity.
“Yes. Yes” I said and the whole hall erupted in happiness as Lucius jumped up and hugged me tight.
