The Bully's Hated Mate
The Bully’s Hated Mate – Chapter 57

LUCIUS’ POV:

My father coughed more times than I wanted to count, and while the room was cast into silence, I looked to Cassia and found her already slumping.

I wondered for a split second what they must have given us and how long we had before we met the same fate.

I shook her and her eyes snapped open, b***d veins were already tracing steps in her eyes. I could see just how much whatever was in that drink was affecting her and how much she was trying to stay awake.

Again, I tried to speak to her but my throat was so itchy, so scratchy, no sound came out of my mouth.

I was forced to look between my father and Cassia as I stretched a hand towards him to help.

However, his hands were still firmly pressed to his own throat and I took a good hold of his garment.

If I could just get his hands, maybe he would stop choking.

Damon had had his fill of laughter and strolled from his side of the table to my father, his glass of wine in his tight grip.

My eyes went to Ariadne pleadingingly. Maybe she could stop her Dad?

But the sight I saw was devastating.

She had her hands folded and she was already standing up. She had her gaze thrown away from us and I could tell from her stance that she was not going to help us and she knew about this.

“Sire.” Damon said in a mocking tone.

“Sire. Your castle is on fire.” He continued and laughed a bit.

” Sire. You are to be overthrown.” He continued.

” You’re weak!” He suddenly screamed at my father who held a pained expression as he struggled to breathe admist the coughs he was sputtering.

“You’re pathetic!” He shouted again and gave another laugh.

I reached some more for his garment, just so I could use the garment to sort of touch his hands and drag him.

I needed him to leave where he was.

I needed to help him.

Damon saw what I was trying to do and with speed came to my side and slapped my wrists heavily. I wanted to scream but nothing came out of my mouth.

“Even your son is pathetic.” He scorned me, hatred filling the holes I had never seen in his smiles.

“But you! This is all your fault, you know?” He said again, his attention fixed on my father.

‘Let him be! Leave him alone!’ I screamed in my head but nothing came out.

I was suddenly dumb and unable to speak. My tongue was too heavy and my head was getting heavier.

“You disgust me. How were you picked to be Alpha? Who chose such a weakling?” He said again, his drink dancing in his glass as he gave it a twirl.

“I think you and whoever picked you were delusional.” He said and like a magic trick was performed, he tipped the glass over my father’s head and let out its contents.

It seemed the shock registered on everyone as my dad’s coughing silenced in a second and my face grew wide in shock, even Cassia squeezed my hand in shock.

He emptied the glass and shook it harshly to further prove the point.

“You let the rogues have control because you were too blinded by that disgusting mate of yours and the parasite she carried as your son.” He gave me a hate filled look as he said this, taking his now morphed clawed hand and wrapping it around my father’s head.

“You let those that were supposed to be beneath you trample and get away with things they shouldn’t have because you were blinded and love sick. You didn’t see.” He said, his expression getting pained all of a sudden.

“You couldn’t see how worthless you were! Weakling! And a disgrace to your kind!” He shouted into my father’s ears and my father squeezed his face shut as he coughed some more.

“You decided to bring what? Kindness? To whom?” He asked my father, his voice thick with anger.

“Did you really think your kindness was going to bring respect? You thought if you treated people to dinners and events and balls, then we would see you for what you were trying to portray?” He asked him, his voice filled with sarcasm.

“You thought you could do what exactly?” He squatted to his height on the chair and carefully touched his cheek.

“You thought we would love you, didn’t you?” He asked him.

“You thought we would defend you, accept you? Cherish you? A weakling?” He scoffed and stood up.

” Why… Are… Y..ou doing this to m-me?” My father’s voice was not his as he spoke out finally.

Damon seemed to be impressed that he could ask and then got mad that he could even dare speak.

“You’re not just weak, you’re dumb too.” He scoffed and walked away from him a bit.

“Haven’t you heard anything I’ve said? You’re even more pathetic than I realized.” He said, eyeing him.

” Too bad. There’s a new wave of Alphas, better Alphas. The ones who would know that fear is the greastest power of all! The one who would save us all. The mighty! But too bad. You’re not going to see it.” He said, murder obvious in his tone.

At that moment, I sought the courage I thought I’d never have and forcefully stood up. I have to save my father and Cassia.

The doors opened and some rough men walked in, holding bloody items.

They went straight for me, at the same time tossing whatever it was that they were holding to the floor.

I watched as the item rolled and revealed the heads of the guards, the handful of guards who stood watch outside of the doors and around the perimeter.

More men trolled in, each holding one or two heads of our men.

My mouth hung open in shock, just as my dad’s eyes became bloodshot and the b***d that spurted out of his mouth became thicker and darker.

“Let me go!” I finally screamed but the men already had their bloody arms around my arms, engulfing me totally in their embrace.

One of the men went for Cassia, forcing her to stand up and sandwiched between two men.

I wanted to ask them who they were but I already knew.

That smell could never leave my senses no matter how hard I try, not the first time and now, not the last.

I found myself replaying what I had said to Cassia about wanting to reform them.

About how all of them shared the same murderous tendency.

If I could bite back my words, then I would.

The look of disgust and anger washed over me as I smelled the b***d of my guards thick on their hands, on their manes and on their clothing.

They had just mudered a handful of guards with no remorse whatsoever.

They shook Cassia and she gave a bit of yelp. That got me to try to wringle myself free from their grasp but I was firmly placed.

I wringled some more but one of the rogue men blinded me with stars from the punch he sent to my stomach.

The air left me instantaneously and I heard Ariadne gasp horrorfully.

“Daddy, don’t kill him! I need him!” She shouted at him and Damon gave a deep sigh.

“Take her away from here.” He said, gesturing to Cassia who was already slumping.

I struggled again to get to Cassia as they hauled her over their back and started to walk out.

I struggled with my tongue as I finally found a way to lift it to speak.

“Wher you tak…tak…her to?” I said, my tongue heavy as a rock.

” To where she belongs! The pit.” Ariadne screamed at me, jealousy evident in her eyes.

“You can’t do that!” I shouted, shocked that my tongue was working again.

“It’s only for a while. She’ll stay in the dungeon until I decide what to do with her.” Damon said, his eyes never leaving mine.

“Meanwhile…” He said as he grabbed something I didn’t see from the table and made way to my father whose facial expression was turning a different shade.

My heart wrenched in pieces and in painful ways as I watched my father battle for his life while I stood here, like a damn potato.

“Back to business.” He said as he went behind my father.

A scene was already starting to play in my head as his clawed hands grabbed my father’s head and tilted it backwards, exposing his neck.

I needed to save him!

I started to go after him. I didn’t know how I broke free of the rough men but everything happened in slow motion.

I stretched my hand to get to my dad’s, my fingertips brushed his garment again while the men caught my underarms.

The same moment when Damon dug his hand into my father’s neck and ripped out his throat.

I let out a b***d curdling shout!
