Chapter 7

Gloria got up and went into the bathroom, Alan knew his chance had come!

His agile figure flipped over the window sill and entered the room. He quickly went to the trash can, dug out the box, and opened it.

The ruby ring was lying in the box, shining under the moonlight.

Alan’s eyes lit up as he quickly reached out and stuffed the ring in his pocket. He closed the lid, put the empty box back in the trash can, and was about to leave.

At the very moment, he heard the sound of flushing, and Gloria came out of the bathroom.

Alan was a bit far from the window. If he ran toward the window now, he would definitely be discovered by Gloria.

Thus, Alan had to crawl under the nearest cabinet.

Gloria didn’t notice that Alan had sneaked in and taken the ring. She asked the maid to throw away the trash.

The maid was about to approach Alan’s hiding spot, and he was at risk of being caught at any moment!

Clara, who was sitting in front of the computer, saw Alan was in danger and immediately controlled the drone to hover in front of Gloria’s window.

“Buzz…”

The noise of the drone caught Gloria’s attention..

Gloria instinctively walked to the window.

“At this late hour, why are there such noises? Is it a private plane?” thought Gloria.

Just as Gloria was distracted, the drone flew into the room from outside, passing by her face and almost leaving a mark on her beautiful face.

The drone was flying around the room like a happy bird.

Gloria was furious. “Who flew the toy plane here?”

“This is not a toy! Here’s a little gift for you!” Clara smirked and pressed a button on the remote control….

With a pop, a device on the drone opened, scattering golden powder.

The powder sparkled in the moonlight, making the atmosphere dreamy. The entire room was filled with a strong floral fragrance.

“Aah! My face!” As the powder got on Gloria’s face and limbs, she suddenly felt extremely itchy. She ran out of the room with a scream.

The maid was also frightened, and the bodyguards all rushed over,

Alan took advantage of the chaos and slipped out the window. He retraced his steps and easily climbed over the fence to escape from the Osborn Villa.

Walking alone in the moonlight, Alan felt extremely content!

The mission was accomplished, and he had taken back his grandmother’s ring. “Mommy will surely be very surprised if she sees the ring, right?” thought Alan.

He couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear.

If someone who knew Joshua was here right now, they would replace that Alan’s smile was exactly the same as Joshua’s.

Christy had no idea that her two children had done something amazing for her in the middle of the night..

The next day, Christy went to work early.

It was her first day working at Stellar Group.

The HR manager, Maura Escobar, helped her with the onboarding process before taking her to the planning department.

Ernest Boone, the manager of the planning department, welcomed her and said,

“Welcome to our company, Christy, I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation.”

“Thank you

for giving me the opportunity, Mr. Boone. I will work hard,” Christy replied gratefully. “But may I ask you a question…”

“Please,” said Ernest.

“Why is my salary suddenly increased by so much?” Christy asked in a curious tone.

Emest answered with a smile, “You submitted excellent work during your interview, so I decided to hire you against the regulations. I’m really curious, though. Why did you change the pink dress that Gloria wore into black?”

Gloria was wearing a pink dress in the materials then.

Christy and Gloria grew up together, and Christy knew Gloria pretty well. She knew that Gloria’s beauty was seductive and aggressive, just like a rose. Pink simply wasn’t her thing

Chapter 7

So, Christy changed the color to black. Gloria looked like a noble black swan after her great editing.

Of course, Christy wouldn’t tell Ernest about their relationship. She calmly explained, “I think black suits Gloria’s elegant and charming temperament better, and it can also highlight the shining brilliance of the jewelry”

Ernest said, “Christy, to be honest with you, Gloria not only has to wear this dress for the poster but will attend the jewelry product launch of our company. You casually change the color, and her dress will have to be remade! This dress is from our company’s top fashion brand, and it costs almost four months of your salary to remake it!”

“What the heck?!” Christy stuttered.

“What kind of dress is so expensive? Is it for a fairy?” thought Christy.

“Mr. Boone, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to increase the cost for our department!” Christy apologized.

She thought her monthly salary was kind of considerable, but she didn’t expect it would cost nearly four months of her salary to buy one! What a crazy world!

Seeing Christy’s frightened face, Ernest laughed again.

He said, “Relax, Christy. Actually, I want to tell you that since the poster was released, not only have the orders for that piece of jewelry suddenly increased, but many customers have placed orders for the black dress that Gloria wore. The new design has brought additional profits to the company, so the cost was insignificant. As long as you work hard and make achievements, you’ll get more here.”

At the sight of the poster, Ernest’s eyes lit up. He immediately submitted it to the president, and it even gained the praise of the president.

The posters given by the planning department were commented out–of–date by their president, and Ernest had been getting a lot of dressing down. If he still couldn’t make something good, he might get fired.

Yet Christy appeared at a very critical moment.

What surprised Ernest was that after the color of the dress was changed, the profit had enhanced by 200% within three days, which gained the company a profit of millions of dollars!

No wonder he almost doubled Christy’s internship salary to hire her.

After hearing Ernest’s encouragement, Christy was once again full of confidence and motivation for her work.

A girl named Edith Brewer in the same department was also enthusiastic toward Christy. Whenever Christy had any questions, Edith would patiently explain them to her. They even had lunch together in the canteen.

When they were not so busy, Edith always chatted with Christy. Her topics always revolved around Joshua.

“Christy, I really think our CEO is even more handsome than the stars on TV! Being able to see such an eye–pleasing CEO at work, I really love my job!” Edith exclaimed.

Yet Christy was speechless to hear that.

She really wanted to warn Edith that a good look meant nothing. No matter how handsome Joshua was, he was a dressed–up beast! A devil who took people’s lives without blinking! If those women who wanted to sleep with Joshua knew that they would be thrown into the sea after sleeping with him, would they still be so obsessed with him?

But even if she told them the truth, who would believe her? It would just become slander.

So Christy chose to remain silent.

“Just tell me honestly. Did you pass out all of a sudden during the interview because you were so obsessed with Mr. Melendez?”

“Nonsense!” Christy denied with a helpless smile. “I passed out because of glycopenia…”

“I passed out because of shock!” wondered Christy.
