The man kissed Beth Ruth on the forehead as he always did, never looked inside at Arabella again, and walked right out.

It was only after hearing the sound of the car starting in the yard that Beth Ruth looked straight at Arabella, the disgusted gloom in her eyes unmasked. "Have you rested long enough these days, sister?"

The woman snickered and looked at Arabella provocatively, crossing her legs directly over the couch in triumph.

She looked at the woman comfortably and casually turned on the TV. The morning show was already boring, and it was still the local news that was playing now.

Beth Ruth scanned it casually, a sudden flash of surprise in her eyes.

"Sit down together and watch some TV!" The woman patted the couch beside her and raised her head to gesture for Arabella to sit down.

Arabella snorted lightly in disdain, turned around and tried to leave.

As if anticipating her reaction, Beth Ruth suddenly turned up the sound of the TV and the host's cold and austere voice instantly reached her ears, "It is understood that the formerly prosperous Ruth's Group has declared bankruptcy today......." Ruth's Group!

Arabella turned on her heels, incredulous, and stared blankly at the story on the news.

The camera pans around to see his father surrounded by a group of reporters, cameras and radio mics directly in front of his eyes.

"President Ruth, I heard that Ruth's group is beyond repair, even Ruth's family is loaded, is this true please?"

"President Ruth, can you answer positively, were you the mastermind behind the recent fund raising case at Ruth's? If it does go to court, what do you think your chances of winning are?"

"President Ruth......"

In the middle of the bustling crowd stood the man Arabella knew best.

Aden Ruth in front of the camera looked like he had instantly aged a few years; he was hunched over, his feet a little unsteady from the days of exertion. Her father's gray hair and listless eyes made Arabella's heart flutter.

In the face of the reporter's pointed questions, Aden Ruth just bowed her head and didn't say anything, before speaking in a hoarse voice, "Ruth's Group and I believe the court will give us a fair account, and will submit to the court's judgment no matter what." Her father's voice pierced through the TV screen and straight to Arabella's ears. She instantly closed her ten fingers, clenched her lower lip, turned and ran out the door.

Everything is Ezra's doing! How can there ever be a fair trial?

That man has played himself into the hands of her father, why won't he leave him alone? Now that Ruth's down, he's the only one who can show mercy and save her father. Whatever the terms, she had nothing left now anyway, Arabella, even if it cost her worthless life!

Arabella rushes out of the villa and stops a car, looking desperate like she's chasing the last glimmer of light in desperation.

The wind with its heat swept through her hair and the woman's eyes grew wet. She remembered what her father had said to her before she was married.

"Arabella, there's really nothing Daddy can do for you when you marry a man you don't love. But as long as you're happy and healthy, we'll be satisfied as parents."

Gaby James is right, one will always put the people around them in harm's way .......

When Arabella rushed back to Ruth's family, there were quite a few people gathered at the door watching and talking loudly about something.

"The location of this house is good, and the valuation can be thirty million dollars, I think."

"It's a shame Ruth's family has bad feng shui, how many people would want to buy it?"

Arabella was stunned and stepped forward to ask, "What do you mean? This house is the property of Ruth's family, who said anything about selling it?"

The two men looked Arabella up and down, not recognizing who she was, "What's it to you? This Ruth's family was going down a long time ago, Aden Ruth couldn't pay back the money and had to seize the house!"

"I see Aden Ruth can't wait to sell his house, or else his family will have to meet him in jail!"

Arabella froze in place in disbelief, and the next moment, as if remembering something, she rushed through the crowd and pushed in.

The Ruth's family house was specially designed by Aden Ruth early on by a designer, is elegant and chic, and comes with a large yard.

This yard is usually tended by Grace Ruth, with many of her favorite flowers and plants, and is always a vibrant sight on a regular basis. However, the courtyard is now in a state of disrepair, with signs of having been trampled everywhere.

The door to the villa was wide open, and the sound of an argument could be faintly heard.

Arabella couldn't care less and rushed straight into the villa.

However, she was stunned when she got a good look at the sight before her.

All sorts of valuable things in the house had been pretty much moved, and Grace Ruth was standing upright in the hall at the moment, theorizing about something with a group of menacing men.

"Get your a*s out of here, this house is no longer owned by your Ruth's family! Do you want me to get the police to throw you out before you'll leave?"

"Don't think that just because you're a woman we don't dare to do anything! Believe it or not, I'll show you some color!"

"So shameless at your age, the family is no good!"

With that, someone even made a move to push Grace Ruth, and seeing that she was about to fall, Arabella rushed up and held her up, "Mom! What's going on here? Where's Dad?"

Grace Ruth was relieved to see her daughter here, and wrapped her arms around Arabella and spoke in fear, "Arabella, help your father! The police said your father is suspected of raising money illegally, they just broke in and took him away! How could our family have done such a terrible thing? They, they even said that our properties have been seized and they want to kick me out .....

Grace Ruth's somewhat chaotic eyes were tinged with despair as she murmured out.

Illegal fund-raising?!

Such a crime could be big or small, and Arabella was dumbfounded for a moment. She could do nothing but advise her mother in a trembling voice, "I'll think of something, but get up and I'll get you out of here."

Ruth's family was seized and it was impossible to stay here. Even though Arabella's heart is not willing to let go of the house she has lived in since she was a child, she has no choice but to leave.

She ignored the people watching behind her and took her mother directly to one of her apartments.

The house had been purchased for Arabella by Aden Ruth when she was in college, and she usually rarely came this way, but it was fully stocked with all the necessities, and this was just the right time to house her mother and give her a breather. "Don't worry, Mom," Arabella reassured Grace Ruth with a gentle but sure grip on her hand, "I know Dad is innocent, and whether it's the house or Ruth's Company, I'll replace a way to get it back!"

"On Dad's side, I'm going to get someone now, he'll be fine!"

Grace Ruth's disoriented, lax pupils looked up at her, and she nodded feebly, but it was as if she had pinned all her hopes on her daughter.

"Arabella, you're all mommy has."

Arabella hung her head, afraid that her mother would see her already red eyes.

After getting her mother settled, Arabella went straight back to her and Ezra's place.

Since it all started because of herself, the consequences together will be hers to bear!

The woman's watery, warm eyes rose with determination, pinning her fine hair behind her ears, her slender hands clenched as if she could draw strength from them.
