over. I'm not going to let your parents off the hook."

"I underestimated you, Arabella," Ezra whispered, laughing as he choked the girl, "Thinking that because you're dead there's nothing I can do for you? I'm telling you, I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve, and you're naive if you think you're dead and everything will be Arabella lifted a heavy brow at the man, her grip on Ezra's hand thin and weak.

Her face wore a death-defying expression, and her eyes, which had clearly been hopeless, flashed with a bit of hate. She smiled slightly, and there was actually a bit of playfulness in her tone.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to die until I've completely disgusted you all."

Peering at the hate in Arabella's eyes, Ezra instantly recoiled a little.

He shook Arabella off and straightened up and said, "Arabella, I haven't had enough. I'd like to see how many lives you have left to play with me."

Arabella was flung against the edge of the bed, her body as weak and precarious as a broken kite. She barely held herself together and coughed sharply a few times.

Seeing that the man kept looking at Arabella, Beth Ruth, who was standing on the side, was a little displeased. She pinched her thigh and squeezed out a few raw tears as she opened her mouth, "Sister, why are you being so stubborn? Ezra and I have given you many chances. If you want to die now, you'll only make Uncle and Aunty sad."

"You know how kind Ezra is, how could he stand by and watch you kill yourself like that? After all, we saved you, you managed to get your life back, and now instead you're giving your savior the cold shoulder, is that what Uncle Ruth taught you?" Beth Ruth hooked her lips slightly where the man couldn't see them, still with a distinct sob in her tone,

"Sister, I saved a dog and he knows how to be grateful, but you're really upsetting us too much now!"

Arabella was exasperated by this woman, her eyes were cold, she looked fixedly at this acting "sister" in front of her, without hesitation, she directly smashed it with a pillow.

The girl's voice was hoarse, and the disgust she could no longer hide made the corners of her eyes scarlet, "Get out of here, all of you, isn't it enough to get my child killed, what the hell did the Ruth's family do wrong to raise a b***h like you?" Beth Ruth couldn't avoid it and was slapped directly in the face with the pillow. Her delicately groomed hair instantly fell apart, and a thick layer of the woman's foundation was immediately imprinted on the clean white pillow.

"Ah!"

Beth Ruth screamed in horror as she stepped back a few paces just in time to see the patients passing by the door pointing at her, and shame and resentment immediately came flooding back.

Beth Ruth looked viciously at Arabella, but was too concerned about Ezra at her side to actually say a single angry word. She bit down on her lower lip with a death grip, the few tears forced out of the corners of her eyes finally coming true. She looked at Ezra accusingly, "Ezra, I'd better go, my sister is angry right now, maybe she doesn't want to see me at all."

Ezra couldn't stand Arabella's recklessness, he coldly stepped forward and slapped the woman without any hesitation, "Arabella, who do you think you are? Do you want to die? Then you can only die by my hand."

Arabella's already tender body could not take a man's slap.

She looked like an unbearable rag doll, tossed into the corner of the hospital bed by Ezra with a casual wave of his hand.

"Arabella, you might as well divorce Ezra sooner rather than later."

Emma's heart ached as she wrapped her arms around the woman, only to realize that her best friend in front of her was so thin that she was nothing but bones.

"I'll hire a lawyer for you, okay, you're still young, and didn't we all agree to travel together before? Now I'll accompany you, okay? We'll leave the city right now and go wherever you want to go for a break. Just be a good girl and stay by my side, think of all these years as feeding the dogs and get rid of that psycho Ezra's grip early!"

Meeting her best friend's concerned eyes, Arabella smiled weakly. She knew full well that her heart's resentment was what was holding her together these days, and if she hadn't known that she still had to save her mom and dad, she would have been completely ruined by Ezra.

"But Emma, I'm not happy about it," Arabella's voice was still soft and gentle.

But now all she was left with was a body full of exhaustion, even tinged with a hint of crazy paranoia.

It was also clear to her that she was sick.

"I asked myself that I had done nothing to wrong James's family.Ezra wanted me to behave, so I resigned myself to being a useless full-time wife at home; he wanted me to be dutiful, so I obediently put up with Gaby James and Andrew James....... whatever he wants, I can do it all."

Arabella, with a self-deprecating bitter smile, pointed her index finger at her chest, "Emma, have you never seen anyone as cheap as me either?"

She paused and suddenly spat out slowly, "But now, he wants our Ruth's family dead."

The woman's veins bulged, and there was madness under her ever-so-quiet eyes. But she actually gave a light laugh, "Emma, I can't hold back."

Emma's breath hitched as she looked at her somewhat unfamiliar best friend in front of her, still subconsciously wrapping her arms around her, panicking and stroking the woman's back soothingly, "Of course you can't stand it! You've suffered so much, it's only natural that you can do whatever you want now!"

Arabella's eyes dulled as she leaned against Emma's shoulder, and no more words were spoken.
